First of all, our table cloth was dirty. It was changed when the waiter noticed, but it was changed to another dirty one.We ordered the cheese and tomato garlic bread and french onion soup for starters, both which were just ok. I tried to order a milkshake to be told either that A) They didn't have any or B) That she didn't want to give me one (She kept saying "no, no cold milk, you don't want to try, no", which sounded like she was telling me I couldn't have one). When it came to the mains, I ordered the pasta and cream sauce with mushrooms, ham and egg (a carbonara in all but name) and my boyfriend ordered the beef tenderloin with fried goose.
My 'carbonara' came out barely warm and with onion, peppers, carrots, lettuce and red cabbage in. The taste of onions and peppers was so strong that even with just pasta on my fork, it was too overpowering. When I asked the waitress about all the seemingly random additions to my meal, she claimed that this was the 'traditional' way of cooking it. I disagree.
My boyfriend's 'steak' came out just warm, soggy, undercooked (he ordered medium-rare) and the most bizarre texture we've ever known a steak to be. It was soft, had the consistency of fat and was completely tasteless. His goose was in fact goose liver, which was not stated on the menu.
After just 2 or 3 mouthfuls of our meals we decided to leave, something neither of us have done before. We ended up paying for the whole lot - $450.
I will not be going back and I wouldn't recommend this to anyone.
