Cul-de-Sac is a word of French origin refers to dead end street with only one inlet. In modern suburban use, Cul-de-Sac is used to calm vehicle traffic. Cul-de-Sac restaurant in this case might means a place to gather away from the crowds in lkf.

The Cul-de-Sac is an American fast food restaurant which serves hotdogs, burgers and other snacks. It is a tiny store with only four high tables and several bar table seats, yet its decor is in western pub style and it had successfully captured the lively ambiance in the area. Not to mention their huge open kitchen which mouth watery aroma dispersed all over the restaurant.

Upon seating, the waitress immediately asked us for drinks and food which gave us pressure in ordering although we had explicitly mentioned we were not ready to order yet. Despite that, they had also missed our fries order. The restaurant was not too busy, so I was quite disappointed by their services.

The food was general affordable, most combos are priced within a hundred. We ordered 2 mains, 1 combo with fries and an onion rings.

1) Philly Flyer Cheese Steaks Combo with Fries $76+$18
I thought cheese steaks were steaks that stuffed with cheese, yet it came out to be a bun with heaps of sliced steaks topped with melted mozzarella cheese. The steaks were grilled grade A New Zealand sirloin steaks, they were made medium and were tender. The steaks were sauced with mustard and other seasoning which were made very tasteful. The bun also sandwiched grilled onion and peppers which both were grilled tastily with nice aroma. The bun were unfortunately soft and flat, it would be better if it could be toasted for a while before served. Overall, the melted mozzarella that spreaded all over the ingredients and the buns had made this Philly Flyer delicious. I would definitely try the chicker one later.

2) Souvlaki Pita - The Athena
My pita was served hot and was nicely wrapped in aluminium foil on a round white plate. There ingredients were generous and over flowing. There were lambs, lettuce, tomato, red onion and topped with Tzatziki sauce in a pita bread. The lamb were tasteful which was grilled with the restaurant's secret recipy. I unwrapped the foil as I went down my Athena, but there were parts that the ingredients fell out and became all messy. The Athena was actually pretty nice, but since I had the cheesy Philly Flyer, the Athena did not seem as nice. Anyhow I admit I am bias on cheese.
Nice Athena but would like to have some cheese

3) Regular Fries
The chips came as a combo with the Philly Flyer. The skin was very crispy and light, it was crispier than the crispy onion rings crust as no bread crumbles were needed. The chips were pretty normal, but were nicer than the one in Shake'em Buns and definitely way better than the fast food chain stores e,g, Mc Donald's or Burger King.

4) Onion Rings
We saw the next table ordered the onion rings and it looked too appetizing that I could not resist but order one for our table. The onion rings were served extremely hot and you had to wait a bit before enjoying it. The outer bread crusting was very crispy but there were parts which had thicker bread crumbs that made those specific parts less crisoy but chewy and still nice. The onion rings within the crispy ring crust were hot and soft. The onion ring itself were pretty much tasteless, but the onion sauce were very tasteful. The onion sauce were literally very delicious that I had my chips with the sauce too. The amount of the onion rings were generous, so this onion rings was a great bargin.

The Cul-de-Sac was generally a nice place to dine in, it has a decent decor, a great ambiance and most importantly very nice food in generous amount with affordable price. I would definitely revisit the restaurant and try the other cheese steaks out.
