Day 1: Went to dinner with couple of japanese friends, service was good, everyone(6) had appetizer, the "An Kong"fish liver was great, total three thick round pieces, also ordered two sets of beef shabushabu, big plates covered with thin sliced beef$450. Also had some other dishes of raw fish, which cost about $230, although it only had 6 thin slices, but since it tasted good, doesn't matter. Also had beer and sake, total bill was over $4,000. Fine, since the food was good.Day 2(two days late

Fine, since the food was good.

Day 2(two days later): Went with my girlfriend for dinner, the older chinese waitress started her sales pitch before we even sit down "you guys should try the snap turtle hot pot, very rare to have, a must try, usually it's sold out", when i ask how much it is, "Only $800." Since we don't usually spend $800 just on a hot pot, we decided to have the "white fish eggs"$100, the An Kong fish liver$120 i had the other day, and the beef shabushabu, plus one beer.

Here is what happened: We only got one appetizer for the two of us, when we asked how come the next table(all japanese)with 5 people all got appetizers, the answer was" you have to order a beer to have one appetizer". Looking over to the next table, only two of the men are having drinks, the other two women and the child is not drinking. Fine then, maybe they are old customers, will just let that one go.

The "white fish eggs" had only two slice, much less than the other japanese place we had before which was $90. Ok, every place has differences, just don't order that here next time.

"an-kong" fish eggs only had one thin long slice instead of three thick round slices, i am starting to wonder if this is the place i came two days ago!

Beef shabushabu is when i finally opened my mouth, NOT to eat, but to ask the same chinese speaking old waitress how come the portion of the meat have "shrinked" from a big plate of sliced beef to a half sized plate with half portion of meat! Her answer was amazing" Because last time you had big sliced beef, this time we use the same amount of beef but we have cut more slices". "Then it should look more not less, right?" "Oh, we used different part of beef so it look more than before". "@#$%$???!!!"speechless...

Total silence for the meal, while the waitress busy serving our next table, we just try to finish the food and get out this place. When the bill came, i notice the $30 charge for the appetizer, when i point out to the same old waitress, her answer was"OH, we charge you for the appetizer for each beer you have." "It's not a matter of you charge me for it, how come you didn't tell me when you put on the table?" "OH, WE DO IT THE JAPANESE WAY HERE!"

At this point i don't know if i should be happy that we only got one appetizer or angry they only served the japanese customers next table. But in any case, i won't be back there again, since i am NOT JAPANESE ENOUGH!
