I went to this restaurant with others, not knowing what style of food it was going to be.
Halfway through the meal, I was told that it was an Indian restaurant and at first didn't believe it.
I have eaten in Indian restaurants in India, Australia, the the UK, US and Canada, all countries with significant Indian populations. And many other Indian restaurants in Hong Kong.
The food at Hin Ho tasted like generic Asian curry, there was nothing indian about it besides it having flat bread. If anything it was closer to Malaysian than Indian. So the flavours here have been heavily localised for the Chinese palate, the same way that Chinese food has been localised in the West.
Overall, this place is okay for a generic curry, but I have had much better Indian food in other restaurants in Hong kong, as nearby as Quarry Bay and of course in TST and Central.
We also found service to be extremely slow on the day we visited. I think they were short staffed.
