I went there last week 'cos I was attracted by their big pot of shark fin soup and braised pork feet with ginger displayed at the front window (smart marketing!!!!).
My gf and I ordered the $138 dinner set which came with:
1. Shark fin soup
2. Braised abalone and mushroom in oyster sauce
3. Crispy pork chop bun
4. Vegetable
5. Dessert
Although the shark fin soup didn't have a lot of shark fin in it (what do you expect? It's only $138 for the whole set) but the soup itself was really nice. Thickness just right and not heavy with corn starch at all.
Abalone was smallish in size, which I finished in 2 bits, but big in taste. But again ..... $138 for whole set..... so size was within expectation. Taste was just like Ah Yuk Abalone.
The crispy pork chop bun was a different story..... I must say it was the BEST pork chop bun I've ever had in HK!!!! And mind you I've had plenty of them in many restaurants. The bun was really crispy, pork chop was marinated and fried perfectly. I thought they were skimppy on the mayonnaise in the beginning, but realized it was just the right amount once I took the first bite. I wouldn't mind coming here even if just for the pork chop bun!!! : )
The vegetable was cooked in boiling water so nothing special. And we had a choice of almond tea or purple-rice pudding for dessert. I chose the almond tea and it was good too. Not too sweet and the right consistency.
Service was courteous and prompt. It was a bit disordered that evening and some food orders were mixed up. But I think it's because the place has just opened recently so, if giving the place some time to sort things out, that's something which can be fixed easily.
All in all I believe I'll go there again.
