睇openrice 食評同相片都吸引,諗住同老公慶生日,點知被騙食到週身唔自在,因為叫得少同唔係食貴野,比人白眼咁,都唔係食評所講物有所值,價錢貴都唔好呃得咁離譜丫,扣埋100蚊coupon都仲要比650,搶錢又貴又細碟,最慘唔係想像中咁特別,係咁sell人要細海鮮並盤,成5舊水,如果想食得飽,我諗一人無500都落唔到樓,如果比得咁既價唔洗上灣仔樓上店啦

Make reservations for a big room. This place is good for a group of 10-12 people to gather around in a private room and enjoy a hotpot meal. I am not usually a big fan of hotpots, but this is probably one of the only hotpot places that I like in Hong Kong. You get to have your own hotpot, which I like because it's sanitary and you don't have to eat other people's saliva, and you get to choose your own broth which is good for people who like different things.Anyway, the quality of meat is not tha

I am not usually a big fan of hotpots, but this is probably one of the only hotpot places that I like in Hong Kong. You get to have your own hotpot, which I like because it's sanitary and you don't have to eat other people's saliva, and you get to choose your own broth which is good for people who like different things.

Anyway, the quality of meat is not that great, but is edible and I don't mind it. Their truffle beef dumpling/wonton's are good, they have a variety of dishes for everyone to pick and choose. And it helps to have a big group of people so you can try different dishes. They also have a good wagyu beef with truffle fried rice.

You can pick and choose your own sauces, which I also think is good. I usually don't like Chinese hotpots because of the sauce, I typically like Japanese shabu shabu better because I like their ponzu sauce, but I guess I grew accustomed to the Chinese sauce as long as I add enough garlic and onions to add flavor to it.

Anyway, get a room reservation so you can be as loud as you want and enjoy your meal without complaints from your neighboring foodies.

We have came in for the late night special where they offer
1/2 off soup base
buy 1 get 1 free meat plate,
and a buy one drink/beer get the second for free.

We ordered the crab and tomato soup base, and the server asked if we wanted another soup base as well since we can have up to two different soup bases. We agreed and went ahead and ordeded the tom yum cappacuino one as well. she then one kept trying to pressure my friend to order the seafood special, Which my friend has already kindly declined, Then she looks at me and goes, o he doesnt want to order the seafood for you guys but it's really good. I don't understand what was she trying to imply but i already told him i dont want seafood beforehand, after back and forth for about 5 minutes she finally backed down.

After our food order, for drinks he ordered a spirit and since i get a second drink for free i said sure, i'll have an ice tea. She returned quickly with a sprite can and a glass of ice, and hot tea. poured the hot tea in the glass and viola that's how the fulfilled my ice tea order.

When we were done with our meal and got the bill they charged us
$20 for hot tea (which was suppose to be a free ice tea with the combo...)
$96 for the preserved egg and picled cucumber which we did not order
1/2 price of each of the soup base, since i ordered two that makes in pretty much full price soup base. (we were told we were allowed up to two, however they didnt tell us that'll be full price)
$40 for sauces we used for hot pot
and $168 for the beef charge.

so they have pretty much ripped us off on every charge except the beef and i'm used to paying for sauces in hk so that i can accept.

While trying to reason with them, their explation was simply if you didnt order it you shouldn't have ate it. Usually our customers will return it back to the kitchen. So at this point my friend was really upset, he said to them so basically you're telling me that you're bringing out food that's been sitting out on the tables and reusing them for new customers? After being caught redhanded they agree to remove the charge of those dishes.

I am never coming back here again, even though the hot pot is pretty good but its just not worth getting jerked around like that because we are foreigners.

我最欣賞係呢度有o既三格鍋, 無錯係三格鍋 (即係有三種湯底).

佢哋招牌湯底疏乎厘蕃茄湯, 好香同好濃郁,
冬陰功cappuccino 味度唔太辣,
跟住係什菌洋葱湯, 個湯o既面頭有一塊係用蛋黄焗出黎o既蛋好特別啲湯真係超濃郁.


呢度o既雪花紋肥牛均勻, 塊塊都薄得o黎又有成A5紙size咁大ga, 勁ar~

*O* 真係估佢唔到, 一放入口即溶仲要巧香牛味ar, 服務員介紹係A5和牛, 茅得頂呀!!!

碟豬肉睇落仲薄過A5肥牛呀, 即管又試吓啦.

嘩...好味到呢 ^3^ 原來係西班牙黑毛豬, 黑毛豬呀, 黑毛豬原來你都好好味架, 哈哈~

呢度啲天使麵好滑好幼ar, 另外, 韓國泡菜餃, 麻醬青瓜雞肉餃味道都ok~

整體服務生好有禮貌, 環境舒服, 本人讚好o既嘢食係(肥牛, 同埋黑毛豬) 巧巧味哦~

平時我好少打邊爐,今次無失望!呢度啲嘢幾好食不過貴啲!湯底可以揀3個口味,除左一般可以見到果啲,仲有法式洋蔥湯、忌廉湯等西式嘅湯!幾得意〜我地叫左冬陰公湯底、皮蛋莞茜湯底、潮式蛤蚧湯底,係個冬陰公差啲,較甜!和牛同無皮魚好正,又滑又爽!下次再食過先得!

今日同班中學同學慶祝生日,天氣凍凍地,有人提議去打邊爐,呢間野我之前都有食過lunch,價錢都唔平,我地23人包左間房,間房都幾大又有toilet,成間藍色都幾舒服,仲有部機可以插iphone播歌,幾正!講番食物先,我地一共叫左8個湯底,8個一齊開果陣都幾澎湃,我地果個係胡椒豬肚拼麻辣,胡椒果邊夠晒足料,麻辣果邊就真係辣到食唔到,牛肉我地叫左2隻,本地果隻好食d,d餃子同d波波就真係多到記得,我最有印象係黑松露和牛餃,好似好貴重咁,食落去都幾香,不過d皮好似硬左d,另外我地叫左海鮮船,都幾大隻,有魚蝦蟹帶子螺片包魚,仲有響鈴同我至愛既豆苗,最後我地仲試埋個湯丸,另外仲有生日蛋糕,番屋企搭車果陣直頭飽到郁唔到,好豐富既一餐,下次都會同屋企人去享受下!

如果講番兜餐廳, 美味廚係我食最多次嘅火煱店佢真係成日有新野, 今次我因為收到佢哋部長whatsapp咗個信息話有新湯底同埋新"餃"作, 所以我第一時間黎捧場 (其實我之前去過一兩次, 咁之後佢哋就一有新嘢就whatsapp我超體貼). 講番今次我叫咗佢地個新湯底: 焗芝士洋蔥湯底拼足"料"胡椒豬肚湯, 超掂同埋隻咸牛利芝士餃, 勁掂 (我真係好鐘意食芝士)做得真絛好好好好好味^ 3 仲有油炸鬼釀鮮蝦膠, 呢個蝦勁爽, 油炸鬼勁脆 (先頭我5識煮, 煮到油炸鬼好淋, 好彩有個部長教我要夾住放落去, 就咁將件蝦膠放底,油炸鬼背向頂, 有佢煮2分鐘就掂, 超超超超超正 下次有新野麻煩再whatsap我la !

Innovative fusion hotpot soup base and they are actually surprisingly good! They provide a series of hand-made fishballs, they are very fresh, don’t have the ice flavour! The beef from local markets were excellent, full of beef’s flavour, and it was extremely fresh. The black truffle wagyu beef dumplings were superior, full of the black truffle taste.

Surprisingly, 美味廚’s hotpot is not the best food they serve, however, they do serve very innovative soup base. Personally, I think their Cantonese dishes are the true ingredients to earn them bib gourmand in the Michelin guide.

Give me a thumbs up if you like it!

火鍋(打邊爐)近年已成為中餐的一股主流,優質的火鍋店更越開越多。而美味廚就是當中的其中一家。這裡的火鍋以下兩點特色:第一點,極富創意的湯底 --- 其中最特別的是Cappuccino湯底和梳乎厘湯底,喜歡特別的湯底的一定要試試;第二點,很多火鍋店也以牛肉為主打。美味廚的牛肉並不特別出色,只能稱得上是中上。相比起輝哥,金牌,合興還要遜色。這裡的海鮮才是最出色,只因他們很捨得買一些優質的材料回來。例如象拔蚌,龍躉,聖旨等等。如果閣下喜歡用海鮮作火鍋的食材的話,美味廚絕對是一個好的選擇。還有一樣不能不介紹的,是黑松露和牛餃。顧名思義,是真正用上黑松露菌,和和牛肉碎作餡料。黑松露菌味相當濃厚,是一款很具創意的餃子,我絕對推薦各位試試。當然,美味廚的強項並不專注在火鍋,其小菜也是極具水準的。特別是午飯時段,他們想到一個吸引更多顧客的方法,就是每點一道小菜,便會送湯和飯。平均每人消費只是五十多塊,非常經濟。反而晚市的火鍋就不是那麼便宜,平均也要四百塊一位。儘管如此,但是當你一踏出電梯門,看見一道貼滿明星光顧的照片和簽名的牆(當中還包括日本天后濱崎步),自然會對這裡增加不少信心。

出面熱辣辣,和同事近近地係公司附近食Lunch無訂位,不過好在時間尚早,所以也安排到位給我們. 看見有很多枱上都有"預訂"的牌,而不消一會,都已坐滿了坐位也很舒適,不過冷氣就勁涷~~~看看餐牌,午市行政套餐選擇很多,價錢由$48(最平的有梅菜蒸茄子和黃金豆腐) 至 $480 (最貴的是石燒日本山形縣A4和牛)不等, 種類亦很多我們點了:1. 秘制去骨沙薑雞 ~~ 沙薑很香,而且去了骨,啖啖肉2. 砂鍋蒜子鮮班球煲~~用沙煲上,熱辣辣的,香噴噴...未吃已很吸引..味道不錯,我喜歡吃D蔥多過D魚           蒜子不夠淋,比較硬套餐跟白飯,例湯(合掌瓜煲豬輾),糖水(麥米粥,我覺得個"hing"不太好)任加

出面熱辣辣,和同事近近地係公司附近食Lunch

無訂位,不過好在時間尚早,所以也安排到位給我們. 看見有很多枱上都有"預訂"的牌,而不消一會,都已坐滿了

坐位也很舒適,不過冷氣就勁涷~~~

看看餐牌,午市行政套餐選擇很多,價錢由$48(最平的有梅菜蒸茄子和黃金豆腐) 至 $480 (最貴的是石燒日本山形縣A4和牛)不等, 種類亦很多

我們點了:

1. 秘制去骨沙薑雞 ~~ 沙薑很香,而且去了骨,啖啖肉
2. 砂鍋蒜子鮮班球煲~~用沙煲上,熱辣辣的,香噴噴...未吃已很吸引..味道不錯,我喜歡吃D蔥多過D魚

           蒜子不夠淋,比較硬

套餐跟白飯,例湯(合掌瓜煲豬輾),糖水(麥米粥,我覺得個"hing"不太好)任加

A friend recommended Megan’s Kitchen to me after it earned its “Michelin Bib Gourmand 2012” title this year, that is to say, it made itself into the little red book for serving "good food at moderate prices". Hesitant to stray from my go-to hotpot in Coda Plaza (call me a creature of habit) it wasn’t somewhere I thought I would ever really get to. Hesitant to stray from my go-to hotpot in Coda Plaza (call me a creature of habit) it wasn’t somewhere I thought I would ever really get to. But in a week of cold weather warnings and new beginnings, I booked a table for 4 with slight trepidation.

DÉCOR
Like many restaurants on higher floors of commercial buildings, the décor was pleasant but nondescript, the strip lights here were not too harsh and the ceilings low. It wasn’t a steam bucket however nor was there an overwhelming smell of over boiled pot so I’m guessing the ventilation is first-rate. We were shown to a very roomy booth that the 4 of us thought was comfortable and slightly more private than the other tables. I would definitely recommend requesting a booth when making a reservation.

FOOD

SOUP
Megan’s offers a large and what can only be called interesting range of soup options which was part of the initial draw. From an extravagant Stewed Chicken Soup Stuffed with Chilli ($368) which I feel inclined to return to try, to a more modest Winter Melon Soup with Lotus Seed, Dried Scallop & Chinese Ham ($68). With 4 of us with differing tastes, we went for the trio pot where you can choose 3 different soups, novel, yet in some cases convenient and very suitable for the more indecisive/greedy among us. Here's what we picked:

"Sichuan Super Hot Chilli & Escargot Soup"
I believe a good soup is the basis and beginning of an excellent hotpot experience. This however was bog standard. Yes is was oily red with a few dried chillies and Sichuan pepper corns floating around but the flavour was the same as places where you'd pay half the price. “Super Hot”? Lets not even go there. The escargot? Why bother, the shells took up valuable pot space and when one of us did dare try one we got a mouthful of grit.

"Tomato & Crab Soup in Soufflé Finish"
This was certainly impressive as it arrived at the table (in 1/3 of our trio pot) it was thick and frothy yet firm egg white and actually pretty tasty (best eaten before cooking) but again the soup base was pretty underwhelming. A watery tomato neither rich nor 'sweet' and I would have forgotten all about the crab flavour were it not for the two legs we subsequently found floating about the bottom.

"Malaysia Satay Soup"
As far as flavours go, I do not care for 'satay' in soups or sauces but in this instance it was more of a case of third time lucky. The friend I was with chose it as it is her favourite and I must say it was pretty good. Slightly spicy but not overwhelming, flavoursome with a good thickness to it i.e. not watery - probably the best satay soup I've had - but that's not saying much.

BEEF
We went for 2 large plates of local snowflake beef. It was fine although I would say the pieces were thinner and smaller then I was expecting. For the price ($198) I've had better. If I went again I would probably try the Australia MB2 snowflake beef or maybe just the deluxe US fatty beef - always a safe bet.

BALLS
Now here's where things get interesting. Those of you who are hot potters will get what I mean here when I say - when it comes to balls I only like good quality and hand made, and Megan's came through with that and more. You cannot go to Megan’s and not try the ‘rainbow cuttlefish balls’ – we tried the assortment of 7 and enjoyed them all; red bell pepper, pumpkin, yellow bell pepper, spinach, spring onion, beetroot and purple sweet potato. They are a joy to behold – and really were as good as they looked. The ‘special meat ball platter’ also very good – hand made, tender, flavoursome with a bit of “bounce” with our favourite probably being the beef.

SUNDRIES
Dumplings – we opted for the curry beef brisket dumplings – FANTASTIC – everything you imagine them to be – I have a friend who is going back specifically for these!
Noodles – good
Vegetables – fresh
‘San Gun’ – gluten ball – portion a bit stingy
Fresh bean curd sheet – the best we’ve ever had – tasty with just the right texture and not a dried or shrivelled corner in sight!

SELECTION
The selection is wide and some of it unusual. I fear we didn’t really take advantage of the more adventurous things on the menu, as they just didn’t appeal to us:
-Tom Yum Koong cappuccino broth?
-Pumpkin and pork with preserved duck dumplings?
-Pork balls stuffed with mango?
-Beef balls stuffed with papaya?
But on the whole the food was good quality at a fair price

The service was excellent with the staff attentive and friendly. The menu is completely in English so no awkward ordering or gesticulating here. In retrospection I’m thinking it probably wasn’t their hotpot fare that earned them a mention the Michelin Guide (Hell! You cook it yourself!) but hopefully their a la carte menu. For me, the question is always will I return, and to Megan’s, I imagine yes. It won’t be a regular for me and I thought for what it was it was a bit on the expensive side ($500 per head X4) but its something a bit different and nice for a change. It was enjoyable, novel and fun – despite some of the let downs – so when temperatures start dropping, give them a try!

這個才是我們order 的三拼湯底有疏乎厘蟹皇蕃茄忌廉湯 $138 , 蛋皇醬焗雲南野菌湯 $128 , 蓮子瑤柱雲腿冬瓜湯底 $68 內的蓮子唔好食, 超薄和份量不多的火腿絲 ; 原來個煲面的蛋層是由鴨蛋做成的, 但真係唔覺有鴨蛋咸香味, 而且色擇淺黃, 我們全部都以為雞蛋

3 種甜品的甜度都唔高, 應該合現時香港人要求少甜心態, 但3 款相比以焦糖燉蛋 $20 甜味最適當, 西米布甸應 $25 該可以甜番少少, 因為入口時覺得淡左DD, 我自己覺得適當甜度會將材料味道帶出來

還有鱔片 $98 , 陳年花彫難件 $48 , 唐萵菜$38 , 皇帝菜$28

服務生很有禮貌

题外话/补充资料: 是本來唔想給'''OK"" 因為覺得OK 是還可接受的意思, 並非我想評為''一試無妨'' 的意思 , 但當然又未去做 喊住口那個level

又到寒冷的冬天, 大條道理去"滾"的日子, 今年打邊爐的機會不多, 一班"港島人" 就決定到灣仔美味廚尋歡。看見美味廚有新出品, 當然要試試, 原隻鮑魚釀雞湯, 唔係講笑: 成隻雞放落個湯到 個雞湯唔肥, 應該係一早撇左油, 放d 海鮮去打超正, 尢其是桂花蚌, 響螺, 這兒絕對比大角咀一帶火鍋雜散地衛生, 高級. 價錢會高少少, 但overall 絕對值得推介!!

幾個多月冇黎過 原來旺左咁多冇訂位就真係有錢都要等今日啲火鍋料等別新鮮 最值得讚就係條魚呀好大條好新鮮呀 唔係成日有得食架 啲部長唔介紹我地都唔會特登食呀 牛肉都一樣 keep到水準 依家越來越凍 最好就打邊爐 一諗就諗起美味廚啦 下次再講!
