From my experience, very "Chinese" deco and in sight only one more Chinese customer was around apart from me are bad signs. But I was too hungry to leave and the waitress seemed friendly (and the white guy next to me said "great food" so I stayed.Disaster. Everything in Gongbao chicken were wet and soft including the peanuts (can you imagine?) Fried octopus were bland and wet too. (Deep frying octopus to get the liquid out should be basic cooking right?) Fried rice was better than my expectation. (But every tea house can make that in HK) I don't feel comfortable when the waitress asked me to order something to drink when I already said later. Everyone was expected to order a drink. What is this place? A sichuan restaurant or a bar?

This family-run and owned restaurant is a little gem in SoHo. Tony and Brenda are very friendly and take care of you in this nice setting. The food is delicious, I would recommend the sweet and sour pork, the beef with chives and of course the Peking duck!I liked their portion sizes as well. Very recommended.

Very rude waiter/owner. Refused to serve us because I was the only one among my friends to not want drinks. Although I did order food and my friends too. Waiter insisted on me ordering a drink and became very rude. Will never go again as the food is actually so so (went there before)

Chongqing Szechuan is supposed to be a sichuan restaurant, but really it's a mish mash of several chinese cuisines - cantonese, shanghainese, northern etc. The restaurant lacks authenticity and caters to a western palate with a lot of deep fried items. There's no delicacy to their dim sum techniques the dumpling skin on the xiao long bao for example had half an inch of thickness, which is far too much. The vegetarian options were actually the best dishes especially the smashed cucumber and spicy mock fried chicken. The peking duck was also average, not too bad. Service is speedy and nice, though they tend to get overwhelmed with larger groups. Overall, I think there are far better chinese restaurants in Hong Kong to want to revisit here.

We were disappointed with the portion sizes, flavours and service. We had to wait a long time for our rice so the main dishes became cold. It was expensive for the size and quality of the food. It says Sichuan, but it wasn't spicy and it was bland. The signature dish (Chicken) was dry.
