最近香港氣氛有點不一樣,出街食飯既人都相對減少,我都隔左一排先出去食餐omakase,鮨野,朋友吃過lunch話好平,所今次食dinner!Total有兩個set揀: 1080 and 1280 (唔知有無記錯),今次我就食左個貴少少既。材料不錯,我個人亦比較奄尖,某d食品都唔食,但師傅勁好,我唔食果d都幫我換d同grade既食材!抵贊!其中要贊既係個八爪魚🐙!超入味 好似醃左好耐 所以先有咁既水準!仲有筋子,有d酒味,都幾特別,甘甜甘甜的。有少少唔好意思既係,師傅準備咗秋刀魚刺身刺身但我奄尖,所以冇食到,浪費左

今次同事介紹中環sushi lunch set,很久以前食過一次omakase,中環抵食之選,海膽吞拿魚保持水準,只是sushi set 沒有大拖羅,只有中拖拿。最喜歡燒魚和海膽壽司,海膽綿滑鬆軟,而且座位舒適,服務到位。12件壽司set不過300幾400蚊,正,抵食,下次會再次光臨。

第一次食廚師發辦Omakase, 剛坐下waitress就來問我們有沒咩野唔食,很貼心,然後就一道一道菜上。第一道是鵝肝,可能是剛OT完急匆匆趕至,所以都沒食出咩味道,覺得還可以啦,但是第三道開始令我好驚喜,魚油香味很濃,啖啖都是肉,很滿足。另外有一個煎魚的,煎得很香,但略咸了多少,我朋友沒吃完。另外,我本來不大愛吃吞拿魚,但沒想到拖羅甘好食。本以為這些精緻的菜式會不大飽,結果我吃到一半已覺八成飽,全部吃完覺得很飽。最後的水果也很甜,基本都沒什麼不滿意的地方。

First of all, my reservation at the sushi bar was at 1:30pm but we waited for 20mins+, and still have not seated. The server offered the table for us to have the appetisers (salad and chanwanmushi) and moved us to the sushi bar when seats are available. We ordered the sushi and roll set. Overall the fish was fresh but the sushi rice was terrible. The rice was mushy and tasteless and had no texture at all. Also the chef did not explain the type of sushi being served but just placed it on the

best sushi lunch set in HK! Central location, great service, fresh seafood from Japan. It is the most enjoyable sushi lunch at a reasonable price. I particularly recommend the toro, which simply melts in your mouth. And the sea urchin sushi has a generous portion and rich flavour!

同朋友食飯,揀左呢間,坐低感覺環境唔錯,燈光柔和。唔多人,我地係第二批客,有兩個之前已經食緊,走嗰時就黎多兩枱。到叫野食喇,都係所謂 Omakase既套餐,講明幾件乜乜幾件物物,都係有嗰個畀人限住既感覺,其實尐餐廳到底可唔可以叫返做尐咩松呀、竹呀、梅呀嗰尐呢,實際尐嘛。還好既係,材料新鮮美味,刺身好食,壽司就唔算出色。服務就只係一般唔算細心,師傅唔算健談,亦都無乜點介紹出品。整體算 ok,但性價比一般。

Central is notorious for not having enough authentic Japanese restaurants--let alone serious sushiya where seasoned sushi masters are the soul of a typically small-ish restaurant. Sushi Ono would seem to be the exception, however, and despite not being a big fan of raw fish in general myself I must testify that it may be among the best sushi places in the heart of Central. Like many sushiya in Hong Kong, the kitchen tries to cater to a wider audience by serving some hot dishes, but unlike in most cases, the hot food here is thoughtfully prepared and tastes every bit as fine as their cooler counterparts. If you're feeling like a decent sushiya experience while in Central, this will probably be your place--they've got fresh raw fish flown in regularly, thoughtfully designed omakase menus with a long list of cold and hot dishes (~HK$1100 to ~HK$1300), plus a decent list of sake to pair with. Lunch would be busier and more casual (great sushi sets going at ~HK$500), while dinner would be appropriate for a more relaxing meal (but naturally would also come at a heftier price tag).


Sushi Ono is homed in an unassuming building on Stanley Street, occupying an entire floor that is fairly small but cozy. The only limitation seems to be that the place lacks a sense of community typical of generations-old sushiya in Japan where diners gather around the sushi bar to have a piece of the action, which could be fine, if only the restaurant offered an alternative atmosphere for diners to have somewhat more of a private bonding time over food and drinks. Instead, too many servers crowded around a few tables meant that there was always at least one standing so close they could overhear every word. 


All in all, I would highly recommend the place to lovers of sushi/ sashimi who work or happen to be in Central.

My partner had the more expensive omakase set while I chose grilled lobster and cooked seasonal fish à la carte. I tried to taste a little bit of his set whenever possible so I could share my thoughts here.

Katsuo (鰹) and Sanma (Japanese Mackerel/ 秋刀魚)
Katsuo was a true delicacy with a strong meaty taste, complemented well by the spring onion topping. Sanma was perfectly in season and its richness make a great pair with katsuo. (Katsuo is commonly mistaken as skipjack tuna, but is in fact closer to the mackerel family.)

Grilled Lobster (half)
This is Ise-Ebi, a Japanese spiny lobster, with the looks of a baby lobster and the texture of the freshest crayfish. Though August is still not the best time for the cream of the crop, the flesh was moist, firm and not too chewy, and the mayo-buttery glaze made every bite a delight.

Otoro (大とろ); Tai (Sea Bream / 鯛); Grilled Tai; Makigai (Conch / 巻貝); Ebi (Prawn / えび) with Crab Roe
Every piece was perfect. The ebi was especially memorable with roe. Many sushi restaurants tend to serve very cold, nearly freezing raw fish to ensure they do not smell fishy, but the lower temperature also tends to compromise the flavor profiles of the sashimi. Here, the fish is less cold, which enables us to discern and enjoy different kinds of fish and their unique flavors.

Sea urchin (雲丹); Tamagoyaki (Rolled Omelette); Black Cod (銀鱈)
Uni was a disappointment as it wasn't as fresh as we hoped it'd be. And I wasn't too impressed by their creative tamagoyaki which tasted more like a castella cake than anything. Not that I have anything against cakes, but I'd have liked it better after the meal. Cod was excellent, however.

Cooked Yellowtail Fish Collar (Hamachi Kama) 
This came with some really springy, silky tofu and a piece of juicy mushroom. The centerpiece was three thick cuts of yellowtail collar with even "marbling" (if I may use that word to describe  fish). This kama section (just behind the head and gills) has a tender texture (not to be taken for granted for cooked hamachi) and the fattiness made it very satisfying.

On the rare occasions i splurge on sushi omakases, i'm slightly wary of trying new places given the price you're paying. Today though, we tried to visit Sushi Nakamoto on Pottinger but found it a bit pricey (1580 for the cheapest set!), and my fave Imamura Sushi in CWB had no counter space,  so I finally got the excuse to try Sushi Ono.  Ono made some headlines a year ago for offering a $900 omakase set, which made it one of the cheapest on HK island . The dinner set has since gone up to $1080, and I admit to some wariness when they explained the menu. They offer 2 omakase sets - one at HKD 1080 and one at HKD 1280, and she described the 1080 as having 5 pieces of sushi and the 1280 as having 7 pieces.  This was a bit concerning as we had prepared ourselves for the standard 10-15 pieces and we didn't 5 pieces would get us where we wanted.  However, they do themselves a disservice when they summarize it like this, as you get a lot more food than it sounds. We both opted for the 1080 option. 

As to the restaurant more generally - it's a sushi counter around an island, so most of the seats (there are some tables but i don't recommend those) are situated around a central area where you can see the chefs prepare the food. The service is attentive and quiet, and there is a compact drinks list; as an aside, the more I eat sushi, the less I enjoy not drinking with it... unlike western or japanese bar food, sushi doesn't seem to be helped by alcohol. Anyway, it's there if you want it. The chefs are all locals and they are pros, with no wasted movement or unnecessary flashiness in their preparation. More importantly, our chef (Wing) was spot on with that unexplainable balance needed in nigiri between the sushi rice (texture, quantity, denseness) and the fish. Basically, Sushi Ono is setup exactly how you'd expect a proper omakase restaurant to be.

As for what really matters, here's what we ate: 
Appetizer - Flounder in ponzu with seaweed. Really enjoyed the texture of the wakame within the rolled up flounder, but any thinly cut fish in ponzu is delicious let's be honest.

Seared tuna in seaweed - i'd never seen something like this before; basically a large piece of lean tuna (akami) seared with a blowtorch, smeared with mild wasabi, and served in nori. Not oily like usual seared fatty fish, it's not a typical handroll since there's no extraneous sauces/ingredients, and it's balanced deliciously with the wasabi and nori. Really tasty.

Grilled yellowtail - the only average dish of the night - a bit crumbly in texture - i wonder if this is a yellowtail thing or is it a defrosting issue? Grilled beautifully, and a generous portion but not terrific.

Seared cod - also something i'd never seen before in a sushi course - cod is so oily, i would have thought it would be a staple in seared sushi - however, this was the first time i've tried it and it did not disappoint.  You'll notice the scoring technique they use to provide more surface area for the sear - wonderful.

Seared Flounder fin (Engawa) is too oily for me usually, but this one was terrific. The seaweed was a nice touch in giving it some structure, as it melts away completely in your mouth otherwise

This is followed by a mushroom soup and a small dessert (matcha pannacotta or a slice of japanese melon)

This was more than enough food, and though it was light on the nigiri, we did appreciate the variety and small surprises they throw in, some of which are tiny but serve to differentiate the food (garlic in negitoro temaki!). The seared tuna handroll and cod I'd never tried before, and the uni/ikura don was a nice addition that wasn't on the menu. True, the fish variety isn't the most exciting, and they do err on the side of fan favorites (oily/seared fish), but this is understandable with only the 5 pieces to impress you with. The table next to us had the 1280 version and they had iwashi (sardines) as part of the appetizer and sushi course. The upgraded set does seem worthwhile FYI, as you get extra uni, lobster (instead of grilled yellowtail) and more sushi. We'll be trying that next time.

Overall, I think it was a terrific omakase meal. Sushi Ono doesn't try to blow you away with quantity or with really expensive ingredients, and instead focuses on delivering a high quality meal for a relatively good price. I think HK has enough fancy japanese places that we can appreciate Sushi Ono's place on the lower-end of this scale and not compare it to what the HKD 2000 p.p. monsters are doing. If you've never tried omakase, it's a great place to start, and even if you're a regular, the food is interesting and unique enough to offer you something too. Strongly recommended.

今日好特別,一朝早返到去就已經諗住晏晝食啲乜,因為我秘書少有地請我地食 lunch ,好興奮。識咗佢10幾年,但係我真係諗唔到上一次佢請我食lunch係幾時。一路都喺度諗,究竟佢會請我去邊度食lunch,到一點鐘嗰陣時先開估,原來係我之前嚟過幾次嘅鮨野Sushi Ono。不過我都好耐冇嚟過,之前果幾次都係上年發生嘅事。今日入到黎同之前嘅感覺非常之唔同,因為餐廳全場爆曬,加上有四個壽司師傅,我印象中之前冇咁多壽司師傅。餐廳嘅裝修都幾唔錯,我發現佢好似加咗四條柱喺個電梯大堂同啲凳中間,我覺得做法好聰明,一來嗰四條柱有啲日式嘅感覺,提升咗餐廳內既裝修。二來可以將餐廳部份同埋電梯大堂分隔。仲可以提供一個等候區俾未入座嘅人客,唔會騷擾到已經坐咗喺度嘅人客。我叫咗個刺身餐,我秘書同埋其他同事就叫咗壽司餐。首先來嘅係蒸蛋丶沙律同麵豉湯。啲蛋好滑,有真蟹肉丶菇等,味道非常清甜。個沙律面頭落咗一啲類似濃味嘅蝦片,都幾特別,食落去嗰陣時都幾有咬口,幾好。啲汁亦唔會太酸。麵豉湯裏面有三種菇,都做得幾用心。之後就輪到刺身。每一種刺身折法都唔同,厚薄都唔同。其中一種刺身叫平政魚,我孤陋寡聞,都未食過呢種魚。平政

餐廳嘅裝修都幾唔錯,我發現佢好似加咗四條柱喺個電梯大堂同啲凳中間,我覺得做法好聰明,一來嗰四條柱有啲日式嘅感覺,提升咗餐廳內既裝修。二來可以將餐廳部份同埋電梯大堂分隔。仲可以提供一個等候區俾未入座嘅人客,唔會騷擾到已經坐咗喺度嘅人客。

我叫咗個刺身餐,我秘書同埋其他同事就叫咗壽司餐。

首先來嘅係蒸蛋丶沙律同麵豉湯。啲蛋好滑,有真蟹肉丶菇等,味道非常清甜。個沙律面頭落咗一啲類似濃味嘅蝦片,都幾特別,食落去嗰陣時都幾有咬口,幾好。啲汁亦唔會太酸。麵豉湯裏面有三種菇,都做得幾用心。

之後就輪到刺身。每一種刺身折法都唔同,厚薄都唔同。其中一種刺身叫平政魚,我孤陋寡聞,都未食過呢種魚。平政魚刺身做法好特別,裏面包咗一啲用紫菜做嘅醬。食落去平政魚刺身嘅質地比較爽。深海池魚刺身切得好大粒,魚肉都非常之肥,食落去口感非常好,好食,一啲都唔腥。甜蝦味道非常之濃,味道很好。相信係用咗啲蝦膏,放咗喺蝦肉上邊。吞拿魚腩(大拖羅)同其他大拖羅都係一樣,有一啲根,所以我不嬲都唔係大拖羅嘅fans,不過拖羅都好新鮮。

最後,仲有雪糕,但係個雪糕好硬。

壽司師傅同埋侍應嘅服務態度都好。由於我唔清楚嗰啲魚係啲乜嘢魚,所以我每食完一舊都有問一問師傅嗰舊係咩魚,師傅雖然忙於為其他客人做壽司,但係佢都好有禮貌咁同我解釋。我叫個餐嗰陣時同侍應講想要多碗飯。佢就話:「一陣間你食完碗飯嗰陣時我幫你添飯啦!」係我未食完我碗飯嗰陣佢就已經問我要唔要添飯。

多謝我秘書請食晏,同將一間我久違嘅餐廳再次聯上。

- 今日入到餐室同之前嘅感覺非常之唔同,因為餐廳爆曬同埋有四個壽司師傅

海膽係我同朋友既至愛,今日當然要食返一個新鮮即開海膽先啦😋嘩!好多海膽呀~~~新鮮海膽,味道鮮甜,加入了醬油凍配合,更帶出海膽鮮味,正👍🏻接著都係海膽🤣,來一客海膽軍艦,厚厚海膽配上脆脆紫菜和暖暖飯團,口感非常豐富好吃。食完海膽,來一點小吃伴酒,同朋友聊一聊再吃。清酒配上燒得香脆既雞泡魚乾,好味!再起動!來一客拖羅刺身,肉質鮮味,肥瘦均勻。鮑魚很鮮甜彈牙八爪魚吸盤,爽脆鮮味最後吃過超甜蜜瓜,今晚豐富一餐便劃上句號。

今晚來試開業大半年的鮨野,在中環樓上舖晚上價位只是$880起跳,最貴的只是$1280相對是比較便宜。因為友人這晚早收,我們便6:30開始。來到升降機門一打開就是店內。見到一班師傅還在開魚等等準備工作就知道我們是早了一點。當各人還在忙,我們前面的師傅見我們到齊就為我們準備前菜。選了$1280的開運餐,2018年就來開個好運吧。先來溫室蕃茄,毛蟹肉和鮑魚。蕃茄是如期中的甜但酸汁太搶味,毛蟹肉未算太甜,但中間加了黑椒又把味道搶了,鮑魚燜得夠腍,鮑魚內臟的汁也調得不錯. 再來另一道小吃是紅酒燜的鮟鱇魚肝,這個一片是很硬,一片就比較軟熟,但過多的黑椒碎又把鮟鱇魚肝應有獨特的魚肝味搶了. 這個適合配酒,光吃就比較咸.刺身來了,池魚卷著鮮海草,吃起來鮮味不錯. 原隻北海道馬糞海膽十分新鮮,甜味是還可以的,不用配醬油啫喱吃更好. 枝豆和紫蘇花都只是視覺的配搭. 帆立貝拼象拔蚌刺身都是很新鮮,但甜度也是一般. 沙甸魚碎的紫菜卷本來是不錯,但加了太多蘿蔔絲,又把沙甸魚的魚味搶了. 加蘿蔔絲增添口感我不反對,但太多了,只不停吃到又爽又酸甜的蘿蔔絲,吃不到沙甸魚獨有的魚香. 紫菜包大拖羅,可以的,要讚紫菜是比

再來另一道小吃是紅酒燜的鮟鱇魚肝,這個一片是很硬,一片就比較軟熟,但過多的黑椒碎又把鮟鱇魚肝應有獨特的魚肝味搶了. 這個適合配酒,光吃就比較咸.

原隻北海道馬糞海膽十分新鮮,甜味是還可以的,不用配醬油啫喱吃更好. 枝豆和紫蘇花都只是視覺的配搭.

沙甸魚碎的紫菜卷本來是不錯,但加了太多蘿蔔絲,又把沙甸魚的魚味搶了. 加蘿蔔絲增添口感我不反對,但太多了,只不停吃到又爽又酸甜的蘿蔔絲,吃不到沙甸魚獨有的魚香.

紫菜包大拖羅,可以的,要讚紫菜是比一般鮨店的脆.

燒龍蝦本來又是不錯的,肉爽有鮮味,但不知為何又加了大量黑椒,那種辛辣味在口腔久久不散. 到下一道深海池魚壽司還吃感覺到黑椒味.

接著來的深海池魚,金目鯛,牡丹蝦,北寄貝,中拖羅和喜之次壽司不過不失. 師傅似乎還需多加練習切魚技巧. 魚的厚薄,界花的功力有待改善.  還有,六件壽司有一半是火灸,我明白有些魚火灸後迫出魚油會更香,或者半熟肉質會較鮮甜,但不吃全生刺身就吃不出鮮度來. 很多店一有不太新鮮的魚就會火灸意圖蓋過不新鮮的腥味. 這裡的魚都是很新鮮,金目鯛,北寄貝和喜之次其實沒灸過都一樣好吃的.

海膽三文魚籽飯都可以,起碼海膽是新鮮沒有異味,甜度可以更好一點.

師傅很醒目見我一直都有拍照,在包拖羅蓉卷時問我要不要拍餡料照片. 加了炸脆的櫻花蝦是第一次吃,比起別處加天婦羅洋蔥沒油膩,也更脆口.

其實整體是不錯的,就是新鮮度要加分. 很多鮨店的刺身不夠新鮮,貨的級數就別論,這個價位有這樣的出品算是物有所值了. 這次明顯調味上出了問題,我還會多給他們一次機會,這次會要求主廚來招待. 聽聞他們都是竹壽司出來的師傅. 我去竹壽司已是約2011年他們剛開業不久的時候,印象是食材十分新鮮,不太花巧的. 這裡開瓶一支收$250或買一免一.

中環的日式高級食府很多,但好朋友最終選擇了到這裏飯聚,令我不禁期待這裏的食物質素。果然,由8時開始入席下單到10時離開的短短兩小時,無論是壽司師傅或食物,驚喜都是一浪接一浪的!我們一行五人被安排坐在可以欣賞師傅烹調食物的Bar檯旁,一邊欣賞師傅刀功,一邊品嘗新鮮食材。連甜品及湯在内,整晚每人共能品嚐約18款食物。每品嚐一款刺身或壽司前,師傅都會悉心講解並指導正確食法,非常細心。師傅更體貼地詢問我們夠不夠飽呢!最後更讓我們任點一道菜,我們便選擇了美味的魚子壽司😋能與好朋友談天說地,又可偶爾與健談的師傅在說說笑笑,我們五人都共度了一個美好晚上。
