Haven't been here since last year already, but feeling not full from dinner, decided to have a snack consisting of a bowl of Wonton noodle just to give it another chance.
The wontons as usual are not recommended - the prawn fillings were not particularly tasty or fresh, the skin was over-boiled and soft. Pity.
However, the noodles were great tonight, probably the best in town that I'm tried out of all the famous shops - in fact it even had egg taste in tonight's batch, skinny and just the right crunchiness. Although a little alkaline solution taste remained but not to the point unacceptable.
The soup was slightly more tastier than sometimes - probably helped by the fact I visited early and I was the only customer, but it was mainly fish taste and not prawn roe's taste, and it did have yellowed chives in it.
Not bad and this time, better than Mak Siu Gei experience. Having said that, all of these wonton noodle shops to have inconsistency, especially the soup quality. Sometimes it has no taste, sometimes it has too much.
High 3's.
