A lovely coffee shop hidden above the staircases, opposite to the NOW cooking show - Chef Corner Restaurant. Would never have found it without any advertising or Openrice. A small coffee shop with 6 small tables inside and 2 on the outside. Around 20 seats. Went there on a Sunday sunny afternoon, was lucky to get a table inside when someones left. When we went inside, the waitress asked whether we had any reservation, wonder a coffee shop in this scale really takes reservation. Ordered Cafe

Ordered Cafe Melange and Iced Vienna cofee. Iced vienna coffee is a must drink. They offer iced coffee like no where else. It came in with coffee in the bottom, top with vanilla ice-cream and cream on top. So rich and creamy, not too sweet, perfect! It's like the typical Australian Iced coffee with icre-cream and cream.
When we saw the cafe melange, we doubt whether it's the tradition one because having stayed in Vienna for a week few years ago, had tens cups of melange over there, they all came in a black coffee with cream on top. So we checked out with the Barista and he insisted the most tradition one is actually like a latte, not the one with cream. Well, would take his side as he said the owner is an Austrian who should know better than us when talking about history and old old tradition. The Austrian lady also came to chat with us afterward. Whether it's tradition or not, I still like it very much. Well picked coffee beans filled with aroma, right balance of warm milk, right temperature.
They carry the typical Austrian desert i.e. sacher, apple strudel, black forest cake etc, not many selections. Had the Apple strudel, came with vanilla ice-cream. The Austrian lady said they don't add sugar to cook the apple, so the sweetness of the strudel is from the apple and raisin. Not too sweet, up to the standard. well some people may prefer sweeter. Would love to try the sacher next time.
