I’d put Emporio Antico on the very top of my list after seeing @socialveganhk ‘s post about its vegan menu, just that I was saving it for some special occasions. So, the chance finally came yesterday ~ we had a girls night out to celebrate my birthday 🎂👏🏻And Emporio Antico didn’t disappoint me at all! Everything was cooked to perfection.The service was really good 💖 There was a complementary bread basket and welcome drinks👍🏼 and I was also impressed by the fact that their menu caters for different dietary needs like vegan /vegetarian / gluten free / sugar free and these are all clearly labeled..The 3 of us ordered:💚Whole grain salad (vegan)💚Fontina fondue (contains milk)💚Black truffle penne (contains milk)💚Sweet potato wedges (vegan)💚Dark chocolate brownie (sugar free and vegan) 💚Apple crumble (sugar and gluten free) I wish I could have tried more of their vegetarian/vegan dishes but then the things we ordered were quite filling so we were really full already after the main dish 😅 The desserts were great, but then the brownie wasn’t quite brownie like that it lacked the firmness and chewy texture. It was still nice as chocolate dessert tho😉

情人节晚,我一早book左20:00,落左订,到今日先7点打电话来话叫我推迟我个booking 30分钟,因为有overlapped booking,而偏偏要推迟我,我简直觉得难以置信。咁我同女朋友一齐照20:05上去问下咩事啦,哦,原来有一枱人迟左一个钟到,所以我来到就无枱要等30分钟睇佢食完。即系佢迟一个钟就可以入座,我准时到就单一句就推迟我? 好,我同女朋友落去行一阵,20:30上返去,我expect你应承我20:30就OK,上到去,话人地食紧甜品,要多15分钟,我地火都滚,无谂住同佢闹交,我叫佢揾话事人同我解释一下,个waitress 都系按order做野,对事唔对人。个老板,连出都唔去来同我讲声唔好意思,净系叫个waitress同我say sorry,话送香槟。吓,我来系想欣赏你嘅野食,唔系想贪你小便宜,唔系要free野你搞清楚。我到宜家都唔明点解人地迟到就可以推迟我去就佢地,公平?如果系咁,我要booking做咩?如果系其他原因我都可以等,因为其他人迟到我唔可以接受。无食到走左,我唔知食物好唔好味,但系我谂一间餐厅唔系净系卖野食。

Got a confirmed booking on valentine’s day 8 pm. However we are being informed that previous customers were late for one hour and need us to arrive at 8:30 pm. When we arrived there, they still let us keep waiting as customers still haven’t finish their courses. We even tried to seek for a formal explanation or apologies however the restaurant owner refused to meet us. This is totally unacceptable and unfair to us as we need to bear the consequences of someone being late. We eventually leave the restaurant without having anything. Thanks to your arrangement, i have the best valentine’s day ever. I dont care how good will be your food, your service/ attitude is simply disgusting.

Emporio Antico has been nominated as one of the best 10 fine dining restaurants with wine pairing in Hong Kong. However, my friend and I were not a big drinking person. But we still enjoyed a delicious and healthy dinner at Emporio Antico with a relatively quiet environment. Most of the items on the menu are vegetarian friendly (except the mains) or gluten-free (for dessert). We had the whole restaurant to ourselves for most of the time. I guess it’s one of the perks of having dinner early.For starters, you can choose from Kale Caesar Salad, Fontina and Raclette Fondue, or Quinoa Salad. All of them are vegetarian friendly. I chose this cheesy starter and was so satisfied with the grilled fontina cheese and raclette cheese. They were so aromatic, yet not overly oily. They were very enjoyable with the sourdough toast. There was far more cheese than toast, so after I finished all my toast, I ate the cheese like mochi as it got quite sticky once it’s cooled. This starter is very filling indeed.There are 3 options for mains: Seared Chicken Breast, Seared Seabass, Grass Fed Sirloin. I picked the sirloin. It was served with beetroot, mushroom and pepper berry jus. As usual, I went for the sides first. The mushroom was so juicy and flavoured; the beetroot was so sweet and enjoyable. As for the berry jus, it tasted like beetroot to me even though it’s yellow and in the shape of a pear.The sirloin is very delicious. I was surprised that I wasn’t asked how would I want my sirloin to be cooked. I guess it doesn’t really matter when the steak is grilled right to the point so that you have a crunchy grilled surface with juicy and tender meat underneath. Yum!The meal ended with a yummy gluten-free dessert. Either a Dark Chocolate Cake or Berry Trifle. I chose the dark chocolate cake. It has a hint of coconut oil flavour (like most of the gluten free desserts). The dense and moist texture make the cake a lit one and very enjoyable. I adore the heavy chocolate flavour as well as the chocolate nibs on the plate. It did make a perfect full stop to the meal.

我都好明白餐厅系会想人哋食佢哋本身嘅甜品但系人哋生日带埋个蛋糕收切饼费都无可厚非但系佢个切饼费要成二百五十蚊老老实实我真系觉得贵到离晒谱我知道呢间餐厅𠮶啲嘢系贵但系我一见到个切饼费眼都凸埋讲番佢啲嘢食先佢个蘑菇汤真系好好味不过你唔好谂住佢会跟面包㖞系冇面包㗎蘑菇味好重仲特地加上黑松露油佢都好识做咁样每枱都有个welcome drink但系我啲朋友唔系咁识饮酒咁点算同埋真系甜到 我接受唔到佢啲熟食真系好多油连埋个 vegetarian dishcottage pie焗完出嚟个底系有 成半吋咁多油黑松露pasta上面𠮶层系好香牛油味但系食到底𠮶层就好多油啰好得意咁样佢个黑松露系完全冇乜味…我觉得佢真系唔够人啲嘢食系ok不过我下次一定唔会带蛋糕嚟
