2024年11月1日星期五到山頂的Rajasthan Rifles食印度聖誕大餐,以為同西方聖誕節一樣,會有唔少人會著上應節服飾,但現場只見一對couple穿上紅色的應節服式!已很久沒有來山頂,想像不到超多自由行,由的士站步行到餐廳,都見滿滿的人潮,但遊客都是看夜景和坐覽車,未見他們光顧餐廳!未知是否印度聖誕節關係,餐廳顧客比平時多,服務方面亦有點顧此失彼,明明是我們先到入坐,但上菜卻比隔離枱慢,有點失望!食物方面,印度菜都是很重味道,所以並不是我最愛,很多東西吃一兩口已感覺很油膩,全晚口氣都充滿食物的味道,感覺一般!

未知是否印度聖誕節關係,餐廳顧客比平時多,服務方面亦有點顧此失彼,明明是我們先到入坐,但上菜卻比隔離枱慢,有點失望!
食物方面,印度菜都是很重味道,所以並不是我最愛,很多東西吃一兩口已感覺很油膩,全晚口氣都充滿食物的味道,感覺一般!

薯角十分出色,好脆,調味得好好食,份量都好多,兩個人食絕對夠食。羊肉炒飯就麻麻哋,炒飯係偏淋,口感上我唔鍾意。羊肉方面就食唔出係羊,冇乜羊味。價錢比較貴,但就唔太好食,所以就唔推介。Butter chicken幾正,啲雞好滑,同好入味。啲咖喱係好出色,唔會辣。

雞嘅外表燒到有啲微微焦黑,但係食落去完全唔會覺得有燶味。雞肉嫩滑多汁,同時你會食到好多唔同嘅香料味,例如茴香。食落去嘅時候都會有一種淡淡嘅煙熏味,搭配芫荽醬令雞肉味道更加清新。我自己好鍾意嗰種複雜嘅香料味,但係如果本身唔特別鍾意咁重香料味嘅人,就未必鍾意食呢一道菜。

本身我唔食羊肉,不過係男朋友嘅極力推薦底下,我都有試。肉燉到好軟腍,但係唔會冇咗肉嘅口感,就算我好唔鍾意食羊肉都好,都忍唔住食多咗幾嚿。如果你本身好唔鍾意羊羶味,但係你又好想試吓囉羊肉,我會極力推薦你試吓,可以話已經幾乎係冇晒所有嘅羊羶味。可惜嘅係畢竟我對呢浸味道好敏感,最後都係轉投雞肉嘅懷抱。

*食到差唔多嘅時候,侍應哥哥聽到我吸鼻水嗰啲嗦嗦聲,就問我係咪覺得好辣。其實我唔係覺得好辣,不過個鼻唔爭氣,我就同佢講話有少少辣。佢就笑一笑我,然後冇幾耐佢就捧住兩杯薑奶茶話請我同男朋友飲,隔離仲有細細塊曲奇餅,個吓覺得好窩心。

朋友介紹了這家在山頂的英式印度餐廳!雖然菜色不多,但菜色特別,以印度菜來說很美味了!試了幾個招牌菜都很開心!真的很久沒吃了!朋友!以開放的心情去試看看吧!我覺得在香港難得吃到這麼好吃印度料理!

山頂真係一個好chill的地方,如果當日氣溫唔係有成34度,坐在室外真係爽歪歪,當然怕熱嘅我坐裏面嘆冷氣啦。環境:人流唔太多,不會像在隔離商場,那些食店人來人往,這裏可以真正享受一下,室外的陽光透入店內十分舒適,寧靜。服務:職員態度全部都很友善,我們是第一次來,不知道有什麼推介,店員很有耐性地推介給我們。食物:Chicken Tikka 和Garlic Naan ,兩者味道配合,雞肉烤得很香,用Naan包住烤雞,吸收了雞的味道,亦可以減低辣的味道。

I’ve come back a few times now and I must say if you’re at the Peak, you must come by to meet the team - super friendly bunch, keeping up with my expectations with Black Sheep 🥰Espresso martini on point with their baileys touch if you prefer lattes over Americanos or espressos:And when you need a hot sweet tooth fix, the treacle tart from Butter is served here:Been here for dinner on their midweek jazz night too and if you had to choose a day to visit the Peak and RR, I’d say that’s it 🤗

Have been hearing many good reviews and recommendations from this classy Indian British restaurant at the Peak, seeing Openrice is having a lunch promotion of free dessert, we decided to spend a special occasion all the way here.

Welcoming by bright smiling staff wearing soldier uniform was warming. He was very nice that allowing us to pick the seat for taking pictures when celebrating the special occasion. We decided somewhere with more privacy. Staff were helpful and efficiently gave us water and introducing their signatures.

Looking at their menu would definitely create a difficulty on food decisions. They covered both authentic Indian and British cuisines and all seems unique that barely found in other restaurants.

We ended up requested sharing the tomato lentil shorba, beef and mushroom pie and shashlik paneer.

First came with the tomato lentil shorba. It was a tomato based lentil indian soup. Staff explained it was made by a lentil based broth instead of the usual vegetarian/ meat broth. It was well blended that the texture was silky smooth. Hardly pick on a small lump. Very tomato taste with a hint of indian spice. The spiciness had been well balanced by the tanginess of the tomato flavour. Few croutons and parsley were topped. Very hearty to start the meal. Highly recommend.

Moving on to the shashlik paneer. It was a tandoori style indian cheese (paneer) grill served with a side of mint sauce and cucumber salad. Paneer was perfectly marinated with smokey and spiced flavour. Paneer was a bit crumbly like feta but texture was a bit like halloumi and tasted on a milky side. Capsicum and onion were also grilled on the skillet. It was a light dish with a smoky side. Chef smartly paired with a mint sauce to give a kick. Sauce was freshly minty flavour unlike traditional mint yogurt sauce. Cucumber salad was topped with paprika plus the squeeze of lime juice. It was refreshing after tasting such strong spiced food.

Beef and mushroom pie was another spot on. Staff friendly reminded us it would take around 15mins to bake. It came out just by its look, you could imagine how indulgent it would be. It wasn't a big pie but enough to share between two. The moment you cut it by knife, you knew the crust was definitely worth for the wait so as the chef's talent. Crust was incredibly crispy but didn't fall apart while cut. Thin but strong enough to hold the beef and mushroom stuffing. Beef was very soft that felt melting in your mouth with the gravy inside. Mushroom gave a strong umami combining with the gravy. Gravy inside wasn't thick. I personally thought eating the pie itself was tasty enough that no need the extra gravy adding in especially would like the crust remained crisp. Side salad was underneath the pie that well coating with olive oil. Nice to have some greeneries to cleanse your palate. Considering the pie was pretty heavy and carb-y, I believe the potatoes in the salad could be omitted or replaced by more cucumbers. Anyhow, nice job!

Here it came the celebration of birthday occasion. Staff was incredibly excited and joyful surprising us with a candled treacle tart, singing loudly with the birthday song with blowing a horn loudly! It was definitely a memorable unique memories created here! Staff even gave us soldier's helmets and a fake gun decoration for photos! It was remarkable!
The treacle tart was again a deluxe. Very buttery tart with a shortcrust base with the reduced syrup grain filling. I had to say it was a rare dessert that could barely find in Hong Kong. As you could imagine it would be a heavy dessert but nice to share. It wasn't as sweet as you thought but the boiled sugar grain gave a mild burnt/ baking flavour. What even more was a hint of citrus was coming through after you tasted the sweetness. (Apologise for too focusing on the celebration but didn't take a better close up picture, I just crop our the picture instead).

As it's my personal habit of rounding up an Indian meal with a cup of masala chai tea. I paired with the treacle tart which was heavenly perfectly matched. Cleared your sweet tooth with some spiced and hot milk tea. The masala chai nicely round your stomach up with warmth and lessen the heaviness you felt.

It was absolutely my pleasure to celebrate my special occasion with my closest at this restaurant. Not only their unique flavour and dishes, the army old vintage interior designs but also the joyful atmosphere created with a group of staff which gathered my dearest to spread the joy.
Highly recommended! And I will definitely come again, no doubt!

疫情之前成日都會去,隔咗三年,好彩佢哋仲喺度!星期六2:30唔使book枱入到去,雖然好多人坐出邊,但因為入邊嘅裝修好靚,通透玻璃、樓底又夠高,坐得舒服,所以次次都會揀入邊。欣賞佢哋唔會好似平時嘅印度餐廳一入到去好大陣味,同埋有一個好靚嘅吧枱。佢哋signature係GIN酒,之前試過好多特色來自世界各地嘅牌子。*必食* Chicken Tikka $268雖然冇雞皮,但做到外脆內嫩佢個sauce係無敵,超好食!呢個fish curry $388記得之前都有試過唔推介,魚肉小,太貴每次都係為咗Garlic Naan而來不過今次有d失望冇咗以前嗰種外脆內軟今次有少少厚,似pizza餅底經理傾過之後話係有啲唔同咗,如果我特別request可以做返以前嗰隻我相信會俾多次機會佢下次再嚟對於未食過嘅朋友來講應該都仲係覺得佢係好好食同隔籬枱嘅鬼婆傾偈佢第一次嚟She said : it’s the best naan I’ve ever hadCreamy Spinach $198每次都會叫篇少少鹹,但都OK朋友仔生日,上網book枱會送$128嘅tart就算唔送,都值得試,好食呢個環境好igab

每次都係為咗Garlic Naan而來
不過今次有d失望
冇咗以前嗰種外脆內軟
今次有少少厚,似pizza餅底
經理傾過之後話係有啲唔同咗,如果我特別request可以做返以前嗰隻
我相信會俾多次機會佢
下次再嚟

應該都仲係覺得佢係好好食

椰奶較重偏甜的一款,蕃茄酸不算明顯,辣度剛好,

𝘕𝘢𝘢𝘯口感未算係最出色的,偏薄了點,不過不失,但食咖哩必定要配naan

在山頂逛了一圈,欣賞黃昏到夜幕下的維港,然後來這裏慶祝生日。餐牌選擇不多,而同桌的人有不吃牛、也有不吃羊的,可以選的菜式就更少。最滿意的是俱樂部三文治Rajasthan Rifles Club Sandwich,白麵包夾著烤雞、雞蛋、蕃茄和芝士等來串燒,又多汁又惹味,加上薯角炸得軟綿綿、熱辣辣,正!另一樣很喜歡的是蒜蓉薄餅Garlic Naan,放了很多香草,又鬆軟又富有蒜香,衝擊味覺和嗅覺。其他如牛油咖喱雞Butter Chicken,雜菜炒芝士Paneer Jalfrezi等等,就比較普通;俱樂部菠菜醬 Clubwala Palak則太鹹。整體食物質素一般,要讚的是這裡的氣氛。餐廳設計成印度軍人俱樂部,門口有穿著潔白頭巾的印度人歡迎來賓,而在餐牌設計、侍應制服和餐廳佈置等,都環繞這個主題,有趣又有特色。給壽星仔送上甜品時侍應們還以誇張的方式一起慶祝,充滿驚喜,全桌人都哈哈大笑,非常難忘。

[ Rajastan Rifles | 山頂/中環 ]


Due to pure coincidence, I found myself on the Peak one Sunday and decided to come here for lunch. I walked in around 12 and there were a lot of vacant seats but they started getting packed by 12:30. I’ve heard lots about the Anglo-Indian food served here as a remembrance to Britain’s colonisation of India and am very intrigued by the food.


The environment here is very peaceful due to the mountains and the restaurant is definitely bigger than New Punjab Club, the more famous Indian/ Punjabi restaurant from Black Sheep. The price range too is much higher than expected but I understand half the price at Black Sheep is for the service.

Poppadum Chutney $68


Three different poppadums, all with their own distinct taste and texture!


The chickpea one is the more flavorful one with intense spices and a kick of heat. It’s rather thick (compared to the others) and I enjoyed eating it as crisps!


The lentil one is less flavorful in terms of spices but heartier and grainier in the taste. It is thinner than the chickpea one and paired the best with the mango chutney.


The rice one is my favorite as it melts in your mouth. It’s also the least spiced and flavored so mild and allows you to taste the mango chutney the best.


The mango chutney is quite sweet and tangy, not very spiced and resembles more like jam and marmalade. The mango taste isn’t very strong so it just tastes like tropical fruit 🤷‍♀️


Not a bad way to start my luncheon.

Tomato Lentil Shorba $128


Shorba is a rich and flavorful stew/soho from the Middle East. It’s commonly made with beans, potatoes and meat but tomato Shorba is also very popular and frequently found.


The Shorba here is velvety and immensely flavorful. The tomato taste is very prominent despite the amount of spices present. It’s tangy and sweet but has a mild hint of coconut -from the coconut cream which adds creaminess and texture- and a lot of spice from the chilli. It’s perhaps the spiciest dish today.


I really enjoyed the croutons on top as it was amazing being soaked up by the crispy bread. I also enjoyed soaking the rice poppadum in it and eating that up.

Butter Chicken $308


Some of the best butter chicken in HK!


The sauce is so silky and creamy without being heavy due to the abundance of spices used. Still, it is not chilli-spicy just spices-spicy due to the assortment of spices and aromatics used. The chicken is extremely tender and well seasoned, even the core was flavorful! The size is decent with enough pieces too. I enjoyed eating this with naan more than rice (although with rice is also delicious!) because the consistency is thick and rich.

Barramundi and Mango Stew $338


This dish intrigued me a lot so I had to try it.


The curry sauce reminds me more of Thai curry due to its flavor and consistency. It has a mild sourness which is really appetizing. Sadly, you can’t really taste the mango flavor. The consistency is very loose and silky. The barramundi pieces are so flaky and tender but not very flavorful. It heavily relies on the curry for flavor. There is a lot of pieces, some big and some small, all very tender.


I enjoyed eating this with the rice more than the naan as it is much looser. The fish and rice also went really well together. The chef was right when he said this curry compliments rice more!

Garlic Naan $78


Their signature naan bread!However, I prefer the naan at New Punjab Club which is fluffier as the naan here is quite thin (but not yet crispy) and the garlic butter is also quite greasy and weirdly lacks garlic taste.

Steamed Rice $58



I didn’t know they would charge us for this as they said we should have the curry with rice which they will take care of…. But perhaps I heard wrong.


It’s just basmati rice and it’s cooked well and not too wet or dry but I think they cooked it a tad bit too long as it disintegrated when I added the hot curry on it.

Treacle Tart $128


I couldn’t leave without trying their famous tart and I’m very glad I did.


The flavour profile of this classic British dessert similar to the Sticky Toffee Pudding from New Punjab Club but with different texture and ingredients.


The crust is a simple shortcrust pastry which is buttery and flaky but able to hold its shape. The filling is made with treacle which is the by-product of refining sugar and the most common one nowadays is golden syrup. This syrup is mixed with heavy cream and breadcrumbs to make the filling of this tart. The breadcrumbs absorbs all the sweetness like a sponge and also provides this treat with a unique texture. The tart itself is on the sweet side but the rich caramelised taste of the filling worked really well with the pastry. The clotted cream served as well is also not sweet at all and merely offered some cold creaminess to refresh each bite.

Chota Hazry Masala Chai $68


Sweeten black tea with milk. Pounded ginger, crushed cardamom


We got the tart with their chai and wow it reminded me of an English afternoon tea. The chai here is nothing like the one at New Punjab Club. It is heavily infused with black tea with a strong taste of ginger and cardamom. Unlike the chai at NPC which is notoriously sweet and creamy but still delicious and warming, this is not overly sweet and creamy and warming because of the ginger. It went very well with the tart as it counteracted the sweetness.

💬 Overall, a really nice luncheon on the Peak and I definitely recommend everyone to try this restaurant once as the price is very steep (final price was $800 for 2 pax. 😥😬) and I don’t fully believe it is justified by the quality of the dishes. Still, the service here is impeccable and I enjoyed talking with the servers about the dishes.


Ps. I came here with my friend who just came back from the UK where she had her fair share of Indian food and she said the food here is much better than those in the UK 😂
