I’ve been to The Parlour for a few times and enjoyed the high tea. I’ve never tried the dinner yet and this is the first time I went with my friend and tried the wine dinner.Crabmeat with cauliflower & grapefruit reduction: A cold soup indeed. To be honest, the taste is not bad at all but since we are Chinese and it’s very difficult for us to consume a cold soup. Roasted French Pigeon confit with Plum Sauce: This is the WORST Pigeon confit I’ve ever tasted!!! The meat is not tendor and full of offensive smell. After the first bit, it has a very negative impact on your appetite and ask you to stop and not eat anymore. My recommendation is: NEVER ORDER!
Slow Cook Beef Cheek: This is the most ‘normal’ dish so far.... Meat is tendor with enough sauce to cover. Portion is small but still can cover my needs. However, due to the bad experience on the Pigeon confit, I’ve only bit a little bit and can’t eat anymore.
Creamy Jivara Chocolate with Green Apple Sorbet: The presentation of the sorbet is pretty good but the taste doesn’t match! You have to separate finish the chocolate and sorbet and if you mix together, taste is very odd. My recommendation is either to order the Green Apple Sorbet or direct go for chocolate cake.
Conclusion: I don’t think it’s worthwhile to buy a dinner at this outlet. It’s more worthwhile to spend on high tea or brunch!
