I had been super looking forward to this lunch date because it was my favourite cuisine - Japanese again! It was a Japanese restaurant located in a building upstairs in MK. Interior renovations were very very impressive. It was very Japanese. We were seated at the sushi counter. We were seated at the sushi counter. Although our chairs were made of wood, there was a big cushion which made my seat such a comfortable one.
Even the tableware were quite decent.
They were offering a 50% discount for a lot of items over 12 pm to 6 pm. These items included different kinds of sushi, noodles, snacks and drinks. Service charge applied.
They also had a set menu with ramen or udon at $78 up, different dons at $78 up, and cooked sets at $68 up. There was no service charge for the sets.
Of course we had to try out their 50% off items. We ordered mostly from this menu and also ordered a Chopped Bluefin Tuna Don from their set menu.

There were three thick slices of bluefin tuna belly on top, which were super fatty. They were very rich in fish oil and good to eat with rice. Underneath the tuna belly, there were loads of chopped bluefin tuna which were so smooth and so delicious! Portion was big as you could tell from the photo - there was actually quite a thick layer of them. I particularly liked the sesame and chopped spring onions which enhanced the flavour and texture a lot. Some diced Japanese eggs and cucumber shreds were also added.

One thing to note was that their rice had already been seasoned so that they were very moist and were quite sour. We didn't need to add soy sauce to it.

和风沙律, Miso soup and 是日小食 came with the don. The salad had lots of fresh greens and a cherry tomato with some light dressing to add flavour. The miso soup was pretty good as it was quite concentrated yet not overly salty with diced tofu, spring onion and seaweeds. The appetiser of the day was pickled conch.

Then here you go the highlight of the meal which were all the sushi! We ordered 蓝鳍拖罗 at $32+10% each, 立鱼 at $16+10% for 2, 剑鱼腩 at $18+10% for 2, 日本芝士蟹棒 at $18+10% for 2, 蒲烧鳗鱼 at $28+10% for 2, 葱粒吞拿鱼蓉小卷 at $18+10% for 4. Bluefin toro had no tendon and was so easy to chew yet not overly fatty. I particularly liked the 蒲烧鳗鱼 which smelt so nice of grilled eel, 日本芝士蟹棒 which were so meaty with the crab stick, and 葱粒吞拿鱼蓉小卷 which were all fully stuffed by chopped tuna with spring onion despite the not-crispy seaweed. I had to point out that all their sushi had been well seasoned and again were the sour type that we didn't need to add soy sauce anymore. Given the quality of the sushi and the price, they were really quite a good deal.

There were 10 clams with shells and you could tell they were fresh because they were full of the salty sea clams flavour. There were a lot of seaweeds, tofu cubes and spring onion. Again it was concentrated enough yet not overly salty. With so many fresh clams, it was really a good deal.

The steamed egg custard was super hot and smooth. Ingredients included a piece of mushroom, chicken (which was so tender) and a big piece of prawn.
We were quite full afterwards. Having ordered so many food items with some expensive ones, it cost us only $177.5 per head. The environment was very nice and seating was really comfortable. Service was attentive too. Would definitely come back from time to time. Good for special occasions too.
