There are two branches of Bistromique, one on Staunton Street in Soho and another one in K Town. The Soho branch has a rather dark and small door so do keep your eyes out when are you are coming here. There are actually a basement in the restaurant for mroe seating area, the upper floor uses mostly natural light to brighten the dining area. Their house red and white was good enough to go with their food on the menu so it's not a bad idea to spice things up with a bit of wine. The warm bread roll

The warm bread rolls are buttery brioche and black ink bread. The black ink bread was a little bit drier than the brioche.

There were actually loads of baby squid hiding in the fresh spicy, sour and sweet tomato sauce which has has been cooked with spicy choriza and diced garlic. 

I always doubt myself when ordering squid or octopus dishes because I have countless bad experience eating rubbery seafood. Their baby squid was super soft with no "freezer taste". The seafood abosorbed all the flavour from sauce, while the breadcrumb on top gave a contrasting crunch to the dish. 

This starter was definitely a bomb and I highly recommend you to order this starter over the others.

Soup

Pumpkin soup with crab meat

The blended pumpkin soup was smooth and creamy but just to the right point, which means it was not too creamy nor too sweet from the pumpkin. The consistency was also great as a cream based soup. 

Some shredded crab meat was then added to the soup giving it a taste of seafood savoury flavour to the earthy pumpkin soup.

The young spring chicken was roasted nicely with a crispy skin and super moist centre. The meat was juicy and packed with flavours from the ingredients being stuffed inside, which are carrots, zucchini and some mixed peppers.

On the side, there were morel mushroom and tomato on vine. I liked how they use morel mushrooms to absorb all the creamy mushroom sauce, while the tomato was so fresh and sweet naturally. 

I really liked how they picked the good ingredients from the local produce to the good quality spring chicken. I must say the chicken was one of the good ones out there!

The three-layer mille feuille was really crispy on each French pastry. The very well constructed pastry was glued with custard cream.

Though the pastry has some confessioners sugar sprinkled on top, it was not as sweet as I was expecting. The freshly made pastry was crispy without any soaginess. It was just a romantic sexy finish to my tipsy dinner.

Staunton Street is filled with international restaurants especially Italian restaurants. Bistronomique is one the quality ones with true fresh and money-worth dishes.
