Have always wanted to go to Sour Dough but when it first opened, there was such a long line. But now it's a bit more quiet and a table is always available at all hours of the day. Boyfriend wanted breakfast so we headed there to sharea sandwich.Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. You basically order what you want and pay at the cashier. Menu is in English and Chinese. There is no 10% service charge. You basically order what you want and pay at the cashier. It's mostly grab and go with a seating area if you wish to dine there. All the pastries and bread are on display. And there is a large salad bar to create your own salads.
I had a latte ($40) as it was the morning. It came with a small square of Valhorna chocolate. The latte was a bit meh. Not that great. A bit too milky and the coffee was weak.
We shared a Pastrami sandwich ($67) as it was fairly big. They cut it up for us and toasted it. This was really good. The pastrami was excellent. The bread was chewy and tart. They used Swiss cheese so it gave it a more strong taste. All was smothered with a bit of sauerkraut. Not a lot but enough. A fairly decent pastrami sandwich. Not the best but good enough for Hong Kong standards.
Definitely go for the bread and other baked goods. The coffee is a pass so I might just do takeaway next time or order another type of drink.
