First of all ... I'm not a vegetarian. But I do have friends who are. And whenever we go out, they are usually relegated to the limited area of the dinner menu that is made up of mostly salad. When we have all you can eat, they again are relegated to the limited salad bar area.

But I've come across something amazing. Boyfriend and I were in North Point to attend an art exhibition. We noticed this very busy restaurant next door that served vegetarian.

Boyfriend is a carnivore. No ands, buts or whatevers. He only eats meat. Anything green in color, he shudders away. But he does like fried food so when he saw that this place offered fried food and in all you can eat, he gave a nod to give it a go.

We came here for lunch. Lunch is $68. All you can eat. There is no 10% service charge. You enter, pay at the cashier (cash only) and sit down at any table available with an empty plate. Then you start to feed yourself at the buffet area in the middle of the room.

Selection of food is vast though all Chinese based. Each item is labelled but in Chinese only. They have everything from noodles to vegetables to cold dishes. They have rice and congee and soup. There is tea and water. Though no dessert. There was a very good variety and it seemed they were constantly refilling dishes so nothing was every empty.
A few items I chose. Everything was really delicious and well seasoned. Food served was fresh and hot.

The soup was really pretty good. I think it was  lotus seed soup.

After you finish your meal, you are supposed to take your dirty plate, cups and eating utensils tothe back of the restaurant where you separate them to the correct tray for them to clean. It was almost like communal living.

I liked it. It had a feeling of zen. Everyone was courteous and friendly. People even spoke quietly. The food was delicious with a good variety. For $68, it was quite a good deal as well. I would return again and a really great option of vegetarians. A hidden gem that one should really find.
