I was with boyfriend who wanted to go look at sports stuff at WK Square. While he was looking at runners, I saw a coffee shop in the corner. Walking over, I saw it was Espresso Alchemy.

I had been to Espresso Alchemy in Quarry Bay before for a cup of coffee and found iti was pretty good. They have apparently expanded with a new branch in Tsim Sha Tsui. Espresso Alchemy is one of those small artisanal coffee shops in Hong Kong that roasts their own beans. It was noted in many media publications as one of the best coffee shops in Hong Kong. So, I decided to try out their new branch here.

The cafe is in an open space in the corner of the sports store. You order and pay at the cashier. There is no 10% service charge. Menu is in English only.

This shop had some interesting coffee varieties that wasn't at the Quarry Bay shop. I didn't notice this when I ordered my coffee so perhaps I'll try them next time.

Flat White ($36). I ordered a regular size flat white as Espresso Alchemy is more Australian based in their coffee techniques. Smooth, velvety finish of the milk with a wonderful strong aromatic coffee. This was a beautiful cup of coffee.

Ice Mocha ($45). Boyfriend wanted something cold so ordered this. What a cool looking glass! Had a taste. There was only a hint of chocolate with the taste of coffee just over taking everything. Personally, I liked it as it was drinking coffee with a touch of chocolate instead of the other way around.

We shared food as I hadn't eaten lunch yet. They do have set upgrades to add a soup or salad to a main or cup of coffee.

Homemade Potato Salad with German Sausage and Mustard Mayo ($55). This was and ok potato salad. It was mixed with some boiled sausage slices that I don't think were really neccessary. There was also a side of mixed salad greens with balsamic vinegar dressing. So you get a double salad for the price of one?

Spaghetti with Mushrooms in Black Truffle Sauce ($61). Pasta was al dente and I did love the creamy sauce. It was creamy and rich. Simply delicious.

Banana Bread with Honey and Butter ($33). I wanted the lemon cake but they had sold out. So, boyfrienf chose his favorite. Banana bread. It was served with a bit of butter and a drizzle of honey. It was moist but not a strong banana taste. It was pretty big piece. I didn't expect that so we were pretty full afterwards.

A fairly decent cup of coffee with a some decent food. Service was friendly and helpful. Another good option for coffee hangouts in Tsim Sha Tsui for me. I'll be back for the coffee and hopefully they'll have the lemon cake next time.
