Beautiful in every corner, this new glamourous Japanese izayaki 🍶 located in the Mandarin Oriental hotel was all about the looks, unfortunately. From the entrance to your table, you would pass by the elegantly designed bar, main dining area with a harbor view and some private rooms. Very classy place, indeed. As expected, portions were very small. There were only 3 pieces for the tempura dish.
The Fatty tuna maki and Lobster & Hokkaido uni fried rice were underwhelming at that price.
Generally speaking, it was expensive and overrated.
The only item surprised me was their dessert. Their White Miso Soufflé was delicious with very special and well-balanced flavors. Something very unique you could only find here. The only thing I would come back for.
Lunch for 2 people (with 2 cocktails) was : HK$ 2,340.
Overall, if you want to check out the beautiful decor and ambience here, I would recommend to come for drinks only.
Try one of their signature or seasonal cocktails 🍸 They were pretty tasty.
Take your dinner somewhere else.
