Yikes is the name of this place confusing! For some reason, lots of these places (there are three in Hong Kong) have the name "Moo" in their title. Google lists this place as "China-West Fragrance Food Restaurant", yet openrice identifies this place's english name as Chang'an Taste?? In chinese, this place's name is called "西香记", which is not really too closely related to the aforementioned english names...In any case, this place is great when it comes to serving a western chinese variety of chi
In any case, this place is great when it comes to serving a western chinese variety of chinese food. This stuff didn't really exist when I was growing up, I feel... or at least, not of this quality/price. These guys are primarily famous for serving liang pis, which are usually in the form of chili oil+cold noodle. Traditionally eaten in colder parts of the country, I feel like this restaurants rendition is quite good. They also have a lot of chinese style sandwiches which are great as well: I'd recommend the beef ones, which are packed with flavor.
This restaurant is a little small, and there is no wait service; you'll get a number, and they'll call you on the PA. They can be a little disorganized, since they forgot to call my friend up to get his soy milk, but I suppose these things happen... I believe they are fairly new, so I'll assume things can only get better from here on out.
