There are so many bubble tea places in Hong Kong. Most of them from Taiwan and now a few from Mainland China. But what about the local brands? Are they worth noting?Double Bubble is located in Sham Shui Po. There seems to only be one shop in Hong Kong and every time we go past, there is quite a crowd. We were curious. We weren't sure what to order so we chose a drink from their top 4 most popular list. This is the Double Bubble Oolong Milk Tea ($26 for a large). The tea was pretty good. The taste of the oolong was strong and it complimented the milk well. There was a mix of two sizes of boba that were covered in a nice sweet brown sugar syrup. All this was well balanced. The only thing that was wrong was the boba was super chewy. It took a long time to chew. They were so hard. They tasted fine but wow ... did I chew a long time on it.
Probably one of the best boba tea in the Sham Shui Po area and one of the better local ones as well. Price wasn't super expensive as well. No wonder there is always a crowd of people.
