Earlier this week, I saw a social media post about Hanjuku Kobo's new Custard Lava Cheese Tart. I've tried their original cheese tart before, and it was pretty good.My cousins are visiting from the US, and I took them out to lunch yesterday, and while we were walking around Causeway Bay, I remembered that my cousin's wife loves milk pudding and Hanjuku Kobo sells them. My cousins are visiting from the US, and I took them out to lunch yesterday, and while we were walking around Causeway Bay, I remembered that my cousin's wife loves milk pudding and Hanjuku Kobo sells them. So, I decided to take them to Hanjuku Kobo, so my cousin's wife can get a milk pudding, and I can try the new cheese tart!
We arrived at the shop around 1:15pm, and it wasn't busy when we got there, but after we picked out the milk pudding and cheese tart and went to pay, a line formed behind us!

I cut apart the cheese tart and revealed the cheese and custard filling. So, the majority of the filling was composed of the creamy sweet cheese and beneath the cheese was a thinner layer of custard lava. The slight saltiness of the rich custard lava paired delightfully with the sweetness of the creamy cheese, and the crumbly crunchy crust was a nice contrast to the velvety filling.
I would definitely recommend this new Custard Lava Cheese Tart to cheese tart fans! It's a good innovation to the popular cheese tart that might have lost its trendiness lately!
