First time having a Thai-style afternoon tea! There were 3 tiers: 𝗦𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗲𝘀
With two pieces of each flavor, the subtly sweet pandan stole the show against the plain original. Texture-wise, it was really crumbly and tumbled apart upon first bite. The pineapple jam offered a tangy sweetness that paired exquisitely with the clotted cream.
𝗦𝗮𝘃𝗼𝗿𝘆
This layer was full of surprises. Our fave was the parma ham and cheese sandwich oozing with cheesy goodness. The truffle in the green curry chicken vol-au-vent was quite dominating and slightly overshadowed the green curry itself, yet still a mouthwatering delight. The mildly spicy tom yum shrimps and egg roll offered just the right amount of kick, but the spicy mayo on the crispy chicken skewer was a little too fiery for my delicate taste buds… 🔥
𝗦𝘄𝗲𝗲𝘁
The coffee jelly and Thai tea mousse cup was an intriguing combo of bittersweet flavors, which really stood out among the desserts. While we missed out on the macarons (they ran out the day we visited…😞), that meant we got an extra piece each of the matcha roll cake and New York cheesecake
𝗗𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗸𝘀
Coffee and tea were included in the set. We got the 𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝘆 𝗕𝗹𝘂𝗲 𝗙𝗹𝗼𝘄𝗲𝗿 tea, which was the perfect complement to the scones, and added HKD28 for the 𝗧𝗵𝗮𝗶 𝗠𝗶𝗹𝗸 𝗚𝗿𝗲𝗲𝗻 𝗧𝗲𝗮 𝘄𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗕𝘂𝗯𝗯𝗹𝗲 & 𝗣𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗶𝗼, which was devilishly delicious with a concentrated base (that reminded us of ChaTraMue), pistachio chips, milk cap, and an abundance of pearls.
