This place is known for giant fish balls. They are a well known snack on Cheung Chau and after being told that I couldn't go to CC without trying them, my wife and I got a stick each.The ladies at the stand were friendly and got the balls in the oil quickly. They were nothing special. They had no sauce and therefore, tasted of almost nothing. They were innoffensive, but bland. The outside had a satisfying pop to it upon biting in and the texture was fine, but they really are not exciting in any way. Could I live off them for a couple of days in a famine? - yes. WOuld I jump around in excitement at the prospect of eating more? - no.
They are a cheap snack that will put some food in your belly, but expect bells and whistles.
