Lunch for 2 at underground steakhouse under the Bombana umbrella of restaurants. Chef formerly at Henry.Nice dark mysterious ambience.Two private rooms which could be combined into one.By the glass selection ok, ordered glass of burgundy.Wide selection for set lunch items (2 courses for $500 pp, 3 courses for $590.)Bread basket was underwhelming.Took a while to decide, here’s what we had:-Appetizers:Burrata with Culatello ham and smoked eggplant. Bread basket was underwhelming.
Took a while to decide, here’s what we had:-
Appetizers:
Burrata with Culatello ham and smoked eggplant. Very flavorful.
(Was gonna order the autumn salad but decided against it cos not really a fan of Ticklemore goat’s cheese).
Smoked salmon raviolo (ie single massive ravioli). A bit salty for me.
Mains:
Turbot with aioli (sauce made of garlic and olive oil) and green salad. Skin was ok crispy.
Wagyu bavette steak with chips. There were actually 3 cuts on the menu to choose from : bavette (abdominal muscles), striploin (aka sirloin), and ribeye (most marbling and flavorful). Picked the bavette for its leaner and tender texture.
Chips were thick and chunky. Personally I preferred thin crispy ones.
Apple crumble with chamomile IceCream as dessert.
In summary: pleasant lunch. Didn’t feel like going back to work afterwards. Would properly return to try the other items on the menu.
