Since visiting Shabusen in Ginza of Japan last year, I’ve always missed Shabushabu…Unfortunately not many places in HK serve authentic Shabushabu…well except of course for those fast food chain which is pretty much “hongkongnized”So after reading this place on Sassyhongkong ….here I was despite the crazy heat wave lately!!Food in general was a thumbs-up, especially the wagyu beef cooked in one of their signature soup bases, the RED SNAPPER! So after reading this place on Sassyhongkong ….here I was despite the crazy heat wave lately!!
Food in general was a thumbs-up, especially the wagyu beef cooked in one of their signature soup bases, the RED SNAPPER!
Fresh, milky and MSG free!! The “dashi”(Bonito soup) was pretty good too! In addition, they also have a variety of fresh seafood to choose from such as razor clams and bay lobsters~~The ox tongue was excellent, tasty and chewy
…and the “tsukune” is also a must try, minced chicken meat with soft bones dipped in egg soya sauce, so yummy! Of course it would be a much more enjoyable meal if they have more selection of desserts hahaha!
Another note I must add is the quality of their service, very sincere and attentive. For example the waiter would offer the “akutori” gesture, which is to help scoop out the unwanted oil and foam from cooking. Good job!!

今日去食晚飯,二個人叫左個二個火煱,我個份就牛肉而另一分就黑豚肉。諗住一分四百幾蚊都會食到我好飽。點知黎ge分量勁小。菜就多多,我意思係芽菜就勁多,肉就得個幾片。。個湯底係魚湯,但就一d魚味都無,勁多味精食到我口勁渴。。感覺就好似食吉野家個個shabu shabu咁,而個重點係,吉野家個shabu shabu仲好食過佢。而價錢二個人一千蚊。差成十幾倍價錢,以後一定唔會再黎

至於湯底, 個立魚真係冇冇冇得頂! 食完其實巳經非常滿足, 但又唔想浪費, 最後飲咗兩大碗先肯收手!! 真係好香魚味仲一D都唔腥,唔似其他火煱店個d味精湯!
本來想試埋佢地既串燒, 不過真係有d飽…所以我最喜愛既牛舌、等我!

今天午膳跟同事沒有目標地在加路連山道"覓食"突然看見"勝手"的門口才醒起除了大坑, 這裡都有一家分店,於是決定一試.我們12:15就到達, 店內當時只有2位食客,所以等也不用等就有位了這店的裝修跟大坑那家十分相似, 都是bar 台形式一人一爐,中間有2-3位侍應招待客人這裡的lunch set 由$78 起,有美國牛小排或日本豚肉二選一, 烏東或喬麥面二選一,湯底亦有三款可選我們二人叫了一個牛肉一個豚肉set,一盤配有前菜、蔬菜、豆腐和菇類,分量十足! 湯底我們選了木魚清湯, 起初都有少少擔心會太鯹不過原來飲落食落都很清甜, 打邊爐一流!牛肉和豚肉相比我們都較喜歡牛肉,因其明顯新鮮兼有帶有雪花, 入口有香濃肉味, 而且可以說是入口即溶, 但豚肉則比較"鞋"身, 很瘦很乾, 而且件數亦比較少!不過整餐的亮點是--烏東! 烏東爽口兼彈牙, 即使煮得較耐, 亦不會像一般烏東般變成糊狀,依然十分爽口,在差不多食完之前加這個烏東,烏東吸收了整窩的肉香, 十分美味!

我們二人叫了一個牛肉一個豚肉set,
一盤配有前菜、蔬菜、豆腐和菇類,
分量十足!

湯底我們選了木魚清湯,
起初都有少少擔心會太鯹
不過原來飲落食落都很清甜, 打邊爐一流!

牛肉和豚肉相比我們都較喜歡牛肉,
因其明顯新鮮兼有帶有雪花, 入口有香濃肉味, 而且可以說是入口即溶,
但豚肉則比較"鞋"身, 很瘦很乾, 而且件數亦比較少!

不過整餐的亮點是--烏東!
烏東爽口兼彈牙,
即使煮得較耐, 亦不會像一般烏東般變成糊狀,
依然十分爽口,
在差不多食完之前加這個烏東,
烏東吸收了整窩的肉香,
十分美味!

I made reservations for a table for four, so there really was no wait time. We were a little hesitant to enter the restaurant initially because the building they were located in was being renovated, and thus it was hard to even see the store name. Nonetheless, we made our way in and were immediately welcomed by very helpful waitresses and waiters. The restaurant was a bit small, but it was still very comfortable. The waiters were able to speak to us in both Cantonese and English (we had a friend who spoke English with us), and gave us helpful suggestions as to what we should order.

The food quality was excellent: the beef was tender, the skewers were cooked well. The waiters were helpful and agreed to take multiple photos of us for us.

I really have no complaints other than that the restaurant itself is in a rather awkward location. Unless you take the bus from somewhere, it is not particularly close to an MTR station
Oh well. It was definitely worth a visit.

我覚得最大問題是店員態度! 很同意SHALA所寫, 好似"乞佢食"咁!! 嚟過好幾次, 都是一樣, 好像很不歡迎你來食! 唉..... 咁既態度, 幾好食都冇用啦!

When you are a great fan of hotpot, and specially japanese shabu shabu, you should definitely try out Katte Shabushbu.Although it's only a small place with little seats and honestly, the seats aren't that comfortable but the food there are awesome.It's a whole new style of dinning really, there are only a 2 waitresses but surely they are very nice. It's a whole new style of dinning really, there are only a 2 waitresses but surely they are very nice. The price is alright, as I ordered a set lunch cost around $70 something, serving US beef 100g, some vegetables and some udon. You can choose the base soup yourself and I ordered a normal sukiyaki soup, it was delicious. They even serve a free dessert, on that day, I had a taro ice-cream in mochi.

As you can control the cooking time yourself, so all is perfect to me.

主要食 set dinner 有雞. 豬. 牛 同海鮮牛有分 A4, or A5 .. 其實唔大分別. 要好仔細品常才分到.. 因此A4比較底食湯底選了 red snapper fish . 好甜魚味. hotpot 完可以飲埋朋友叫了 "paper hotpot" ... 好似咁叫特別在個湯底係花膠湯個set 都唔係好大份. 所以叫了串燒. 要等好耐. 同牛肉串 (和牛. 牛利) dry 了點. 加pepper 太多. 攪到唔太食到肉鮮味一定要提的是.... 烏冬 i love it 全場坐 bar table, 唔太好坐 .

中午12:07分到門口,待應說要12:15才準備好,不可進入,女待應強調餐廳已訂得很滿,但之後兩班客人來,仍可即時入座,令人不解!中午只有三款套餐,豚肉78元,和牛&美國牛小排各3片174元,都配有蔬菜、豆腐、兩種菇和甜品。一人一煱自選湯底有木魚、鯛魚和Shikiyaki三種選擇。豚肉品質非常一般,很韌很乾瘦,也沒肉味,麻醬不夠稠,蔬菜有大白菜和小蓎菜都很多渣,份量少,吃飯吃飽。牛肉餐同樣份量很少,美國牛小排比豚肉更韌…牛餐配有一款串燒,揀了燒鷄翼,燒得不錯但肉身太薄。值得一讚是湯底做得不錯,烏冬很彈牙新鮮,比很多烏冬專門店還要好。

中午只有三款套餐,豚肉78元,和牛&美國牛小排各3片174元,都配有蔬菜、豆腐、兩種菇和甜品。一人一煱自選湯底有木魚、鯛魚和Shikiyaki三種選擇。
豚肉品質非常一般,很韌很乾瘦,也沒肉味,麻醬不夠稠,蔬菜有大白菜和小蓎菜都很多渣,份量少,吃飯吃飽。牛肉餐同樣份量很少,美國牛小排比豚肉更韌…牛餐配有一款串燒,揀了燒鷄翼,燒得不錯但肉身太薄。
值得一讚是湯底做得不錯,烏冬很彈牙新鮮,比很多烏冬專門店還要好。

好彩之前訂咗位啫,唔係都真係要等多陣。因為同事就快 last day ,所以我都提早同佢 farewell。今次我同佢都叫咗個百幾蚊嘅 lunch set,同平時唔過百嘅餐相比,我諗佢係多咗一串串燒卦?! 每次去呢度食,同事一見到個前菜燒枝豆就好開心,因為佢真係好鍾意食,咁個味又真係唔差嘅,不過我無佢咁好枝豆呢....個湯底我地都揀咗魚湯,感覺上好健康! 個魚湯又無我想像中咁香濃,比較清澈,可能我飲慣咗屋企煲嘅蕃茄薯仔煲魚,所以呢個湯底較清。因為我同同事都唔係一個大食嘅野,所以呢個一個份量啱啱好!!!我鍾意去呢間食主要係因為唔係佢嘅牛肉,而係個烏冬!!! 個稻庭烏冬就算放耐咗都仲好滑好有咬口,唔會好似平時果啲焾晒。因為 lunch time 時間有限,所以我都無得好似坐我對面嘅女仔一樣,清晒成煲湯。

我鍾意去呢間食主要係因為唔係佢嘅牛肉,而係個烏冬!!! 個稻庭烏冬就算放耐咗都仲好滑好有咬口,唔會好似平時果啲焾晒。

When you get older, you somehow look back time and think about all those happy and funny memories and moments you had when you were still young. Somehow you started to miss your childhood friends and then it came to a time when kindergarden mates reunion. Our lunch gathering began in a small Japanese restaurant, which is famous for shabu shabu. None of us actually interested in hotpot in the middle of the day except the one who proposed it. Our lunch gathering began in a small Japanese restaurant, which is famous for shabu shabu. None of us actually interested in hotpot in the middle of the day except the one who proposed it. Anyhow, it is quite interesting to dine in this restaurant since we can have our own pot of shabu shabu.

1) Japanese Peas

They gave us Japanese Peas for free as snack. The peas are very salty, they were cooked soft but not meshy at all. I can't help repeating, but I really love Japanese Peas, particularly its texture and the way to eat it.

There are several choices of beef and broth on menu, but we all chose the lightest one for lunch. I ordered the fish broth since it was highly recommended by a friend of mine. The fish broth turned to be very delicious and tasteful. They claimed to have a secret recipe in preparing the soup, which made it tasteful and not fishy at all.

The sliced beef was in generous amount, but the quality was just mediocre. They are just normal US Beef, not particularly special but rather fat. The tofu was not as smooth as I thought it would be. The texture was fine, but it was just not smooth enough. The veggie on the other hand was extremely delicious since it had totally absorbed the essence of the soup and hence very tasteful. The Udon came in a large block, it was fresh from the fridge which was too hard to separate them into two. Since it cannot be separated, I had to dip the whole stack into the soup to cook it. The ending result was having the first half perfectly al dente, but slightly on the soft side for the second half.

In the middle of the meal, you will find the soup had tasted better with a mild taste of beef in it.

3) Taro Mochi Ice-Cream
The mochi ice-cream was indeed a typical local branded mochi ice-cream that you could find in any convenience stores in a pack of two.

Overall, it was rather fun to dine in the restaurant! The service was pretty nice, which they love to explain things in details. The environment although was not huge, was just enough to give the intimacy feelings. The shabu shabu tasted delicious and are priced very reasonably. Definitely a must try Shabu Shabu Restaurant in town.
