Absolutely one of the best japanese food experiences I've ever had. Our large party ordered the sashimi platter, various sushi rolls, salmon, yellowtail, and tuna nigiri, pork knuckle, mackerel, lamb chops, beef tongue, and fried rice. I'm sure i'm missing platters because we ordered a lot of food.
The sashimi went beyond my expectations. What surprised me the most was the salmon roe. It wasn't super salty like all the other salmon roe I've had before. Its freshness most likely contributed to the wonderful flavor.
The nigiri were delicious. My 3 favorite types of nigiri, and all were very fresh and of high quality.
If you've never had pork knuckle before, this is the place to try it. It's stewed to the point where the meat is velvety soft, and the fat is melt-in-the-mouth. The flavor was well balanced.
Lamb shank - Oh so good! My husband just said, as i'm writing this review, "God, I wish i had about 16 of those right now!"
Beef tongue - Do yourself a favor, order this dish. Don't overlook it just because it's a tongue. It's one of the best cuts of meat you can get. Just don't think about it. Eat it, and you'll be hooked.
We had an amazing time while dining at Daihachi! Will definitely return for sure!
