So, this is a restaurant we come to every now and then. There are not so many Indonesian restaurants left on Hong Kong side.Seeing there are only 2 of us, we couldn't order very much food. But we always ask the waitress whether curry crab or pepper crab is nicer and she always says curry crab and we always order curry crab. Seeing there are only 2 of us, we couldn't order very much food. But we always ask the waitress whether curry crab or pepper crab is nicer and she always says curry crab and we always order curry crab. But I prefer Pepper Crab when I go to Singapore, so just this time we finally tried Pepper Crab. It was deliciously covered in a thick black sauce and the crab wasn't very big. But it was only $188 and cheap for a crab eaten anywhere. The sauce was really spicy hot with chillis and lots of pepper. My husband had to finish his ice chendol really quickly to quench the fire. But I like spicy hot food and had quite a few pieces with plain rice.
We almost always have Cha Kwai Teow and the waitress told us that Fried Jarkarta Noodles is made freshly by themselves and a nice dish, so we tried that. It was plain tasting and not so oily as other fried noodle dishes and worth repeating next time.
My favourite fried baby Kai Lan with salted fish is fresh and crunchy. There are not many Asian restaurants that have this vegetable on the menu and I always order it if I see it.
We finished everything and it was quite a lot with all the plain rice I had. The waitress recommended us to try their fried Chinese NY turnip and yam cake but we didn't think those were Indonesian dishes.
On my way out, I glimpsed an Indonesian work contact and think this place must be quite authentic.
