Basically, I can call myself a tourist as I travelled all the way half the globe and came here to try this restaurant. Not that I aware of this restaurant, it's because I love indian food and I noticed the promotion and word of mouth from everyone about this restaurant and how good it was rated as it's rated as a 米芝蓮-class. I experienced numerous authentic Indian cuisine, however, I was extremey disappointed with the overall quality and experience in this restaurant..
I can summarize my experience in the following points:
- Waited for more than 30 minutes after first dish arrived. We asked to reheat the dish and other dishes were served after the owner re-verified our order. They do not recall what we have ordered.
- Two distinct taste of chicken vindaloo dish. Extremely spicy with red colored on the first dish and not-as-spicy with brownish colored on the second dish(re-served). I felt like I had a different dish of the same vindaloo.
- Duck and fish dishes were sweeter than I expected. Perhaps I am not familiar with Indian cuisine, I never had much sweet flavored dishes and maybe it was tuned for Hong Kong'ers' preference?
- Water was not re-filled in a proper timing. It took way-longer-than expected time.
- Water has a weird scent with it. We had to purchase water bottles from 7-11 across the street. (There's another store selling water for only $3/bottle)
- Service rating: 0/5
- Attitude, Customer experience: 0/5
Reasons:
1. They never recall if we have ordered rice or not, they asked us more than 5 times did we order rice (we did not order at the beginning, and we ordered one afterall)
2. Ordered naans and came with naans and roti. We need to ask the server at least 2 times to ensure our orders were fulfilled.
3. Billing was terrible. While we were checking the bill for accuracy, the owner said "四百幾蚊,甘都唔信?"... After we checked, they calculated 3 rices instead of one, the bill was actually INCORRECT. The owner than said "三百幾蚊,抵食啦!" What kind of attitude was that?
4. While we were waiting for the bill, we overheard the owner had 微言 from other table that was not ready order.. He was complaining other tables taking too long to order, and said other tables order more than $3000+ la... etc... giving attitudes.
5. 全部員工服務態度差。Seriously, I don't want to say this, but I feel sorry for people who is eating in the restaurant as the owner and workers are so 寸 and 唔休做 attitude. If this has been rated with 米芝蓮, does it also include service and quality of the overall experience?

From the above summary, I can say that food was "okay" and not as "great" as I expected, I am sure there are a LOT MORE indian restaurants in Hong Kong having better quality and service. A lot more people can do better than this..
I am not sure if others experienced this, but I would say if there are no improvements with such 囂張 behavior and the food serving pace, how can this restaurant be rated into 米芝蓮 and being recommended to others, including tourists? This will totally ruin the Hong Kong image, and it has already been done, as I am a tourist.
I feel sorry for this restaurant and anyone who also experienced such in the past.

I can tell right away that the restaurant could use a couple more staff. We decided to order the mutton curry with mango, the chicken vindaloo, tandoori scallops, naan bread and roti with a side of rice. But eventually the main dishes came and I do have to say, it is definately worth the wait. The mutton curry was beautiful, full of flavour with the mutton cooked enough that the meat was falling off and crumbling in your mouth. The chicken vindalooo was delicious, VERY SPICEY but we were warned before we ordered it. There was not one thing I could complain about on quality of food as I felt that all dishes were completely authentic. Service was mediocore but not poor, they did apologize for the food being late and yes we had to ask them a couple times for our drinks but at the end of the day do you really go to eat at a place like this and expect service?? I came for the food, and on food alone the kitchen at Hin Ho Curry delivered so I am a happy customer!!

The bill for the food and 3 beers came out to $341 so definately not an expensive meal.

Here is another classic example of a restaurant which is cursed by the fame brought upon by a Michelin star.We arrived before noon on a Saturday afternoon. There were already people waiting outside the restaurant. We waited for nearly half an hour which was ok.We tried the set lunch. I'm sure the Michelin star of this restaurant was awarded on the back of dishes selected from the more expensive a la carte menu, so it is probably not appropriate for me to say whether or not the star is deserve

Here is another classic example of a restaurant which is cursed by the fame brought upon by a Michelin star.

We arrived before noon on a Saturday afternoon. There were already people waiting outside the restaurant. We waited for nearly half an hour which was ok.

We tried the set lunch. I'm sure the Michelin star of this restaurant was awarded on the back of dishes selected from the more expensive a la carte menu, so it is probably not appropriate for me to say whether or not the star is deserved based on what I ate. However, my key disappointment about this place is not the food but the service. The curry we had from the set lunch was ok and not spectacular by the way.

Throughout my whole stay inside the restaurant it was clear that the restaurant staff were overwhelmed by the number of guests they had to serve. Upon being seated we placed our order pretty quickly but our table remained empty (i.e no cutlery etc) for 20 minutes. Then two plates were brought to our table (despite the fact that we had three people) and nothing more happened for another 10-15 minutes even when we chased. We ended up "taking it into our own hands" by getting up and searching for cutlery ourselves. After the soup came the curry. But the naan bread never arrived and the curry was getting cold. Unlike the cutlery, we couldn't make the naan bread ourselves so all we could do was to keep chasing. I was edging towards boiling point when I saw the naan bread chef came out and gave naan bread to a table who ordered later than we did. Ultimately we got our naan bread but they got the type wrong.

From my observation, we were not the only table which had something to complain. I certainly saw at least two other tables who were dissatisfied due to one reason or another.

The staff (three of them) were actually not rude people. They were just too busy to stop and listen to what you have to say. And clearly they are not exactly the kind of managers/waiters who used to serve in a busy restaurant as they were quite slow.

Michelin experience? You must be kidding.

Its strange to see this Curry House being recognised as being of Michelin 1 Star quality. The owner chef has not even set foot into India before, and the dishes here certainly tasted like its been localised for Hong Kong... there must be many other Indian restaurants in town which are better than here. Will they all get a 星 next year? - The Naan was dryish and cold.- The Curry Lamb Knee was pretty good to be fair, particularly the sauce.- The Tandoori Chicken was burnt like a piece of charcoa

- The Naan was dryish and cold.
- The Curry Lamb Knee was pretty good to be fair, particularly the sauce.
- The Tandoori Chicken was burnt like a piece of charcoal and stringy dry, also missing marination taste.
- The Mango Lassi wasn't even proper lassi.

Funny indeed to see this rather than Palki getting a star, or for that matter, the many Indian Restaurants in Tsim Sa Tsui's Chung King Mansion!
The service here however is very exceptional! Pity about the food...

南瓜湯落左少少indian herb去吊起d味, 但其實南瓜已經好甜好濃,lee種配搭好stimulate到味蕾,好好.唯一個湯可以加cream,濃稠一d.

tandoori chicken! my favorite indian dish.點解呢,因為真係好香,點埋個小兒科板咖哩,舊雞係百感交雜,有好重香料,少少spicy,絲絲lemon 香,同雞本身的salty 味.好rich的味道,雞也滑. 只能說這間的醬料非常好,撈飯一流. btw佢個白飯唔係一般貨,texture 好特別, 介乎普通白飯同glutinous rice之間, 有咬口.
野飲的lemon tea仿佛特別好飲,可能野食好spicy.
米芝蓮真的有它的過人地方

今日我們4人選擇左食印度咖哩.朋友介紹E間好食就去試下了~!首先餐前店長會送一個小食. 好似雪糕桐咁,配薄荷醬.個咪幾得意,有少少辣.蝦醬通菜-有少少太鹹. 蕃茄咖哩牛腩-E個係必食!!! 個咖哩汁真係好好食而且唔辣. 加上印度烤餅同印度飯, 真係可以食哂D汁! 個牛腩真係冇得頂~ 好有肉汁同好林! 白咖哩雜菜-個汁都唔錯. 有D雜果係面.都幾開胃~鐵板烤雞-我個人就一般喜歡烤雞. 但正體賣相同味道都唔差啦~芒果酸乳-E個好好飲! 酸酸地甜甜地~食辣野時仲可以解辣!

恆河永遠係我食curry嘅first choice! 一,兩個禮拜點都要去一次, 一個月點都要去三,四次haha....! 我次次都round11:30去到, 因為遲咗就好多人! 以下介紹係必食的:鐵板烤雞件嚟緊時已經聽到"炸炸"聲, 香味撲鼻, 鐵板上底墊洋蔥食時加上檸檬汁, 熱力令到香氣四溢, 嘩.....咖哩牛仔腩牛仔腩好腍, 配埋中辣咖哩汁, 可以食幾塊naan喇!!!咖哩番茄煮魚咖哩香濃再加埋番茄嘅酸甜, 魚件亦好新鮮, 好夾嫁, 又可以食多幾塊naan!!!naan即叫即整, 我最鐘意食原味, 熱辣辣, 面軟底脆, 食過咁多間, 最好食都係佢!!!食naan當然用手食啦, 洗完手仲有咖哩嘅香味殘餘係手度, 而家諗起都流口水, 好想去食呀!!!

平時有去D間食,午餐同晚餐份量都有一家分別~要注意一下D間野GE叻喱可以話煮得出奇GE好食,掂!!!!我食左GE係白叻喱,如果唔鍾意食辣野GE人可以試下~甜而不辣又帶香!(建議小辣就OK~)至於其他GE叻喱都好香口,特別係羊肉,味道濃郁,值得一試但基本入去食咩都OK~PS.唔要飯,轉烤餅仲OK~~

今日幫個friend慶祝生日佢亦成日講好想黎呢度食咖喱,所以早幾日就訂左位先,所以都唔駛等。我地叫左個咖哩牛肉,個汁係用巴東红咖哩所以比較濃郁都好好味,甜度同辣度都剛剛好、牛既肉質幾唔難咬都好香牛味。咖哩海鮮都好味、非常之新鮮唔在講、好鮮味又爽口、蝦肉質好弹牙最正係啖啖肉!度烤餅係熱辣辣送到、麵粉搓得好柔軟所以會好鬆軟烤得唔錯!配埋咖喱一齊食絕配!沙律都唔差、個汁酸酸辣辣好開胃、材料好新鮮又爽口 !

叫了三個餐. 1個餐79$2杯茫果羊肉+薄餅 棒飲品不錯.下次會嘗其他味!另外一提,每次叫老闆點野一定叫到.只可惜較為貴了一點。

今天和朋友仔入了石澳,開心遊玩完後,晚上搭小巴一出去,就想去恆河試試…九點去到,佢收十一點。間舖裏面都幾有格調,都ok浪漫…有經典情歌在播放。0. 小吃醬幾好,但很痴牙的小吃。點了個二人套餐:1. 餐湯(今天是甘筍湯)面頭的裝飾都幾靚,個湯很濃郁,但就是不太夠熱…味道都不錯吧,是甘筍湯一般的味~2. 雜果沙津(是一兜兩人分)正好我朋友仔不喜歡吃沙津,我就喜歡…但沙津普通得真一般,再加上用沙津醬太多了! 令沙津本身的鮮味都盡失,失望!3. 小吃:雞柳 或 魚柳(選了雞柳)是鐵板上的雞柳,來到的時候都覺得幾香,但食落其實又不是太驚喜,雞柳雖然有得落檸檬汁…但雞柳整體來說也是很乾身,少了雞平那種肉汁的口感。要自己落那些前菜小吃的醬才夠。4. 咖喱:雜肉 或 海鮮(選了雜肉)咖喱一個都幾大,如果兩個人食的話都很足夠,咖喱味道都不錯,我們選的少少辣,都是可以接受的味道。唯有我覺得配菜無乜,只有肉,很“寡”,肉都ok, 雞肉、牛肉都不錯。5. 烤餅 或 飯 (選了烤餅)烤餅早來了,所以未食都已經凍了少許,但總括來說都不錯的。6. 甜品 芒果布甸這個裝布甸的“大”匙羹很得意,布甸不算太細,有些芒果汁

但很痴牙的小吃。

個湯很濃郁,但就是不太夠熱…
味道都不錯吧,是甘筍湯一般的味~

2. 雜果沙津(是一兜兩人分)
正好我朋友仔不喜歡吃沙津,我就喜歡…
但沙津普通得真一般,
再加上用沙津醬太多了!

令沙津本身的鮮味都盡失,
失望!

3. 小吃:雞柳 或 魚柳(選了雞柳)
是鐵板上的雞柳,來到的時候都覺得幾香,
但食落其實又不是太驚喜,雞柳雖然有得落檸檬汁…
但雞柳整體來說也是很乾身,
少了雞平那種肉汁的口感。
要自己落那些前菜小吃的醬才夠。

4. 咖喱:雜肉 或 海鮮(選了雜肉)
咖喱一個都幾大,如果兩個人食的話都很足夠,
咖喱味道都不錯,我們選的少少辣,都是可以接受的味道。
唯有我覺得配菜無乜,只有肉,很“寡”,
肉都ok, 雞肉、牛肉都不錯。

5. 烤餅 或 飯 (選了烤餅)
烤餅早來了,所以未食都已經凍了少許,
但總括來說都不錯的。

6. 甜品 芒果布甸
這個裝布甸的“大”匙羹很得意,
布甸不算太細,有些芒果汁、又有些雜果,
幾好味。


7. 餐飲
種類很少,
杯都幾大,
但熱度不夠,都唔熱…
糖都溶不到!

又貴又唔好食 , 又黑到死.....唔食 ar ( 以後都...)咖哩類太細碟, 唔夠飽, 而且味道真係超濃烈, 唔係人人接受得到 !薄餅都可以下~~
