Just like other Hong Kongers, I like fish dishes especially love steamed fish very much. People can enjoy steamed fish in local Cantonese restaurants easily. I always want to try fish dishes cooked in other styles rather than steamed fish. However, there are not many local restaurants providing fish dishes cooked in other styles. One day, a friend of mine and I hung around in Mong Kok after work and tried to find a good restaurant for dinner in Grand Plaza. When we checked the menu of Mong Kok Ricky’s Spicy Kitchen, their fish dishes got my attention and interest because the restaurant offers Spicy Gilled Fish as their main courses. We decided to dine at Mong Kok Ricky’s Spicy Kitchen and tried their grilled fish. The restaurant is well decorated and provides comfortable environment. The menu has a full range of comforting appetizers, delicious side dishes and different style of grilled fish as main courses. There are 3 kind of fishes and 5 flavours of soups are available for dinners’ choice. Dinners also can choose different spicy level.
My friend was suffering from her cough and couldn’t bear spicy dishes. We chose grilled fish with Tomato Bisque Soup. We ordered poke skin, beef omasum, squid, and luncheon pork as the side dishes. The grilled fish we ordered was presented to us in a big metal plate. The fish was over one pound and was covered by colourful . Other ingredients (mushrooms, leeks, garlics and spring onions) made extra flavourful to the soup. A tantalising aroma of grilled fills the air. The grilled fished looked nice, smelled good and tasted. We quite enjoyed the grilled fish together with other side dishes we ordered.
We also tried Yunnan Sliced Poke Belly as out appetizer when we waited for the grilled fish. Yunnan Sliced Poke Belly was very . It looked and tasted much better other sliced dish. The pork belly was thin-cut, wrapped over sliced cucumbers, and topped with minced garlic and chilli sauce. It tasted rich, refreshing and delicious and it is really worth trying.
