St. Honore seems to be on a decline in recent years - there used to be more branches back in the 90's. Came on a rainy Saturday morning while en route to Taste on QRE - the shop is small but there is quite a variety. Bought the following (Did not post pictures of the classics as we should all know how they look like):

Oval shaped egg tart
With their cookie (as opposed to puff pastry) crust, this used to be my favorite. The buttery taste is still evident in the crust which was not very crunchy - guess it's been left out for a while, but that's negligible. The custard did not taste very eggy but it was sweet enough. Overall, it's an average egg tart - not good nor bad.

Chocolate cake with chocolate shavings on top

I remember eating 3 in a sitting for breakfast! I guess their recipe has not changed. 3 layers of chocolate sponge cake with 2 layers of whipped cream in between. They are the original makers of this HK style of chocolate cake and I prefer this to the Maxim's counterpart which is a double - not triple - decker.

Jam-topped cake
Another classic. I always picked out their dessicated coconut but now that I am "grown up" I just ate it whole. I definitely don't recommend putting this in the fridge as the cream becomes solid, ruining the whole enjoyment of the cake. The (apricot?) jam is a bit too sickly sweet though.

Coffee orange swiss roll slice

Outer layer of chocolate flavored sponge, orange on the inside. Whipped cream seals the layers and is used to garnish the top as well - all this cream is a bit too much, it sort of oozes out in the middle - the cake itself feels a bit sticky already. Otherwise the coffee and orange taste are just OK, a bit artificial, essence-like too.

Chocolate banana swiss roll slice
Another new item. Shares the same creamy problem with the aforementioned swiss roll slice. I only bought it because I used to like their banana towel cake (the mini banana swiss roll), but this combination of chocolate and banana is pretty good, better than citrus with coffee.

Green tea swiss roll slice
I discarded the thumb-print sized dollop of cream on top (see picture); it was still too creamy.

I swear the cream that St. Honore uses tastes so different from that of Maxim's - I personally prefer that from Maxim's, as St. Honore's taste more greasy, hydrogenated vegetable oil like, while Maxim's make it more dairy like.

St. Honore seems to make better savory items (breads, buns) than these cakes. My favorite bread here by far is their red rice walnut bun, the one that is sold as a whole with 4 small buns stuck together.
