Location:
It's located very near City Garden at North Point. I somehow foolishly alighted at Fortress Hill MTR Station and took the long route. Not a problem - it was quite an enjoyable walk along King's Road anyway. It's very different from other parts of HK Island.
The shop wasn't as cramped as Se Wong Sun nor as "grand" as Ser Wong Fun. Just a normal hole in a wall kind of shop like some small fish ball noodle shop, about 4 rounds tables with about 12 seats.It's nice and bright, clean and air-conditioned - which should not be taken for granted in Hong Kong.
Service:
The snake king was pretty young and very polite. Also very quiet.
Even the customers were quiet. Other than two ladies who couldn't stop talking for more than 1/2 a second, everyone in the shop was very quiet.
Menu:
They have quite a large number of Chinese herbal soups, possibly even more than Se Wong Ye (?) and also a number of lunch sets.
It's possibly less exotic than the sets at Se Wong Sun (deer tendons, snake loins, turtle soup...etc.) but still pretty good. Such as braised lamb, chopped vegetable rice, preserved Chinese sausage/ liver sausage.
Set 1: Small snake soup & Lamb Casserole with Chinese mushrooms.
Set 2: Small snake soup & Chicken wings braised in Hong Kong style curry sauce.
Set 3: Snake soup & Steamed rice with chopped vegetables and aged Chinese pork.
Set 4: Small snake soup & Steamed rice with chopped vegetables and preserved Chinese sausages.
Set 5: Small snake soup & Steamed glutinous rice (big).
Snake tonic:I ordered a Snake soup set with Vegetable Rice served with preserved Chinese sausages and Liver sausages (HK$73). You could change the size of the snake soup. I changed it to medium hence HK$73 (otherwise it's about HK$50 for small and about HK$90 for a big bowl.)
It came after a very short wait:
Dark coloured broth: According to many reviewers, quite a bit of herbal medicine is added to the broth at Se Wong Lam. Indeed I believe that's the case too. It's compact, thick and flavourful.More flavourful than Se Wong Ye or Se Wong Lam because there was a stronger licorice taste and herbal tonic taste in this broth. I could also taste quite a significant amount of preserved orange peel. Even if there was all you can eat lemon grass and crunchy fried dough
the broth was also quite flavourful so you don't really need to add anything else.There was some shredded pork meat and some snake meat as well. The size of the broth was the same as Se Wong Ye but the snake content a bit more compact, thick and flavourful than Se Wong Ye. (Se Wong Lam had the most snake in any snake broths I've tried so far.)
It really warms one up! The warming up effect seemed the most obvious to me compared with other snake kings.In fact, I later realized that this was the shop one of my colleagues has been talking about for ages, he's now a father...hmm

蛇王[b]燊[/b] - 夠堅: 份量不大但蛇碌真材實料。蛇腩炒飯亦很不錯。
蛇王[b]二 [/b]- 夠飽：雖有雞肉但蛇肉比例可以。潤腸套餐性價比高。環境企理，套餐豐富。
蛇王[b]林[/b] - 夠專：獨沽一味五蛇羹的傳統老店。蛇王二的大小但全是蛇肉。
蛇王[b]芬[/b] - 夠貴：環境最好選擇最多，但蛇羹幾乎全部是雞肉，性價比極低。
蛇王[b]良[/b] - 夠補 : 加入中藥，味道甘口。夠暖身。
