雖然是炸雞,這裡的雞件脆度反而還不及 Goobne 的烤雞;不過兩間都一樣不油不膩,而這裡的優勝之處是肉汁更加豐富,配上甜酸汁非常開胃好吃。

又點了 辣味年糕 Spicy Tteokbokgi ($98),大大兜除了年糕,又加了不少泡菜、紅蘿蔔、菇片及魚片在內;初吃感覺還好,原來後勁凌厲,辣到兩口子都嘩嘩嘩要跳舞了!

一整盤上桌,忌廉羅勒醬和香蒜炸雞是分開上的,這樣便不會把炸雞浸腍呢,喜歡單食又得,沾醬又得,感覺到餐廳的細心。另更附上一小碟醃蘿蔔和沙律,賣相頗美觀呢。

不要小看這一小盤炸雞,份量都唔少,兩人分享是可以的。呢度既炸雞會先用洋蔥、肉桂、洋蔥和燒酒等20多款材料將雞肉醃24-36小時,再加入自家製醬汁煮至入味,再拎去分兩次炸。

炸雞的外皮果然咬落很香脆可口,而且內嫩的肉質仍帶有肉汁,就算唔沾醬都已經頗不錯,算係小妹近來食韓國炸雞中比較好味的。

沾上羅勒醬後係另一番味道,羅勒醬入口比想像中輕盈,沾滿醬都唔會覺得好膩,味道清香得來又不失惹味,估唔到同炸雞又頗夾。

之前有食過School Food既卡邦尼年糕,覺得幾正,所以見到呢度有供應又叫返碟喇。

用上一小"砵"上桌,份量唔算多,不過望落去已經覺得好足料同creamy! 面頭放了少許香草,裡頭有韓式年糕、煙肉片和洋蔥片。

醬汁唔算好杰身,食落無咁膩,但又不失卡邦尼的濃郁惹味,那股奶香味還是很明顯的;韓式年糕煙煙韌韌,成日都覺得年糕既質感本身係吸收唔到醬汁既味道,所以裹在上面個層醬汁要好濃郁夠味先得,呢度正正做到;而且裡頭既洋蔥片切得薄薄的,吸收左醬汁,咬落亦很清甜,很喜歡呢,好快就食光。

呢個火腿芝士卷個賣相都幾吸引,像春卷皮既外面,除左包住芝士和火腿,裡頭仲加入左青椒粒,食落青椒佔既味道比較重,反而芝士味道很淡,身為芝士迷既小妹頗失望,另外仲附上一小碟蕃茄醬,可按喜好自行添加。

至於飲品則以酒類為主,啤酒、燒酒、梅酒、威士忌⋯⋯可惜小妹不勝酒力,只有乖乖的要雜果賓治($85/jar)。這瓶Fruit Punch放入很多冰塊,天時暑熱「咕嚕咕嚕」大喝幾口,實在refreshing。其清新酸甜令人醒神,只可惜沒有半點果肉,否則賣相和味道定更吸引。

芝士玉米($42)是我們的前菜,原來成品以鐵板奉上,由於熱力十足,舀起時即見一條條芝士絲,多麼美妙的場面啊!雖然只是簡簡單單的材料,拼合起來卻很滋味。香甜飽滿的栗米、鹹香軟糯的芝士、芬芳的香草,全部放入嘴裏,味道融為一體,欲罷不能!

生怕炸雞容易上火,先吃些蔬菜打打底。韓式雞胸沙律($62)份量不賴,雜菜色彩繽紛、新鮮爽脆,拌上微酸的醬汁,醒胃提神,為一會兒的炸雞大餐做好準備。雞胸撕成條條幼絲,絕無半點肥脂,相當健康。小妹略嫌有點粗糙,但愛美的女士應很受落。

這兒的炸雞可揀有骨或無骨,前者需要等候稍長時間,反正我們邊吃前菜邊吹水,慢慢上菜更加適合。主角來了,主角來了!香蔥炸雞($178)超級大碟,憑肉眼估計也有十數件,另外還配上一碟沙律,一碟醬汁,一碟漬蘿蔔,非常豐富。店員教路可以把醬汁淋在炸雞上,又或拿著炸雞蘸醬汁吃,我們認為後面的方法較好,一方面不怕炸雞變腍,也不怕醬汁過濃不能回頭。

二話不說徒手拿起一隻雞脾,先咬開外皮,陣陣白煙狂飆出來,燙熱極了!小妹強忍熱力咀嚼雞皮,嘩!超級香脆又夠鬆化,粉漿不會太厚太實,而且沒有滿口油膩。大火把肉汁完全鎖住,雞脾肉嫩滑之餘絲毫不乾,引得我大啖大啖地吃,完全不顧儀態。好友建議配點香蔥來吃,說更香口,可是小妹對生蔥興趣不太,最後還是放棄了。

之後再蘸些醬汁同吃,味道如何?這碟啡色醬汁看似很濃,其實味道沒想像中霸道,最突出是加入了wasabi,但只有輕微的辣,並不攻鼻嗆喉,整體來說甜、鹹,辣交織一起,頗為特別。然而小妹認為醬汁太過溫和,如果調校得香濃一點,與炸雞更為配合。

旁邊的漬蘿蔔極之美味,爽口多汁、酸酸甜甜,炸雞吃膩了拍一粒,清新過後胃口又來了。

今次再試一件雞胸位置,外皮做得同樣出眾,肉質當然沒有雞脾般滑,但仍深得我心。回家後上網找資料,試圖拆解炸雞迷團,原來店家採用蒜頭洋蔥肉桂燒酒等20多種材料,把雞隻醃製2至3天,再以自家醬汁煮至入味,分兩次炸熟後才會奉客。聽來工夫繁多又花心機,怪不得如此美味啦!

最後再來仍未印上餐牌、店員推介的新登場菜式。香辣海螺冷麵拌午餐肉是也!只能接受小辣的我不敢輕舉妄動,只敢取一撮冷麵加點餸料同吃,冷麵滑溜非常並帶芝麻香,海螺煙煙韌韌充滿辣勁,可是原本的味道全被掩蓋。

試後見辣度還可以接受,便豪氣地撈勻品嚐。餸料除海螺外尚有蔬菜,包括紅蘿蔔、芽菜等,嗦嗦聲很爽口。原來小妹太高估自己了!靜待數十秒後,辣味隨隨滲出,攻擊整個口腔、所有味蕾,連舌頭也變厚、嘴唇也腫脹,此刻才發現實在受不了,立刻喝些Fruit Punch補救。若你自問是好辣之徒,不妨挑戰一下。

這裏的店員清一色全是韓國人,他們操流利英文,對話時輔以身體語言,所以溝通絕對無問題。小小一間餐廳容納客人不多,他們就一腳踢甚麼都做,落單、烹調、上菜、結帳,一人分身多個角色。雖然如此,店員卻不會因忙碌而忽略客人,當提出疑問時他們仍會細心解答,又會教授品嚐菜式的方法。

當生活令人勞累時,或者這個野人洞穴,就是避開煩囂、暫別苦惱的好地方。下次,會是甚麼時候再與野人相見?

The Korean fried chicken trend is not showing any trend of slowing down and here's another place that serves that and more in a new building in Causeway Bay. The restaurant was big and spacious enough to enjoy a meal with friends. Soy Sauce Garlic Chicken - there were 7 flavors to choose from and we picked this based on the reviews online. 泡菜薯條 $56

泡菜已切碎了混入芝士加熱,所以呈點稠身。其實不止泡菜,還有菇片雞肉粒好豐富,實屬惹味一大盤又是一條接一條送入口,慢慢一大盤只餘幾條。

幼身著條炸得比快餐店脆身,白色那盤是whipped cheese cream, 蘸著吃更美味也感覺沒那樣熱氣。

辣味年糕 $108 泡菜, 洋蔥,菇片, 韓式魚片,紅蘿蔔,椰菜煮好一窩。classic的韓國紅辣醬, 辛辣度對我說是中高,舌頭被火燒一樣, 因加了糖調味,辣中會帶陣甜,好複雜。韓式圓長形年糕,煙韌吸了醬汁,火辣辣煙韌韌令人吃不停的魅力。

Came here ordered normal boneless fried chicken, ham and cheese toast, and a korean hotpot. The fried chicken was unexpectedly good, I have to say one of the better ones in Hong Kong, didnt expect that.

The ham and cheese toast was also very good, a little spicy inside. The hot pot also good with some noodles, cheese, sausage, spam etc.

I spoke to one of the waiters and they said they've been only open a month, so maybe thats the reason why it was a bit empty. When the meal was over, close to 930 the restaurant started to fill up quickly mostly Koreans - i guess that shows how authentic this place is!

I will be back, but if chibee is reading, they need to improve on service a bit. The chicken took a bit long to come, 20 minutes. Yes it was good, but i think it would have been better if it came earlier.

My friends and I were hungry and craving some fried chicken in Causeway bay when another friend recommended to check out Chibee, located right near MTR exit B The restaurant itself felt very homey and was bustling with people when we got there. The restaurant itself felt very homey and was bustling with people when we got there. We were fortunate for not having to wait as a table of 4 cleared out as we arrived. The decor and atmosphere was very warm and inviting. Logo of the restaurant is funny and memorable. 

The staff was helpful and at least a couple are definitely Korean, a good sign since there are more and more 'HongKorean' places that have left me with something to be desired. We started off with drinks; soju cocktail (that comes in a pitcher), a couple of beers, and a fruit punch. The cocktail was pomegranate flavor, was refreshing, and hit the spot. My friend loved the fruit punch as well. 

We ordered the original fried chicken and the soysauce garlic chicken and were pleasantly surprised to see a whole bunch of other items on the menu. The ham and cheese toast, beef & veggie pot, chibee noodles, and kimchi fries also made it onto our order list.
The ham and cheese toast came out first and took us all by surprise. It looked more like nice goldenfried springrolls. Delicious!! Ham and melted cheese inside accompanied by little bits of jalepeno to give the perfect kick. Very original twist to a old fashioned favorite. The order came with a special tomato dipping sauce that was really good too, but i personally liked the taste even without.  


We shared the chibee noodles and it vanished in about a minute. It seems so simple but tasted so good! Noodles were not overcooked and was perfectly paired with the soup, and assorted toppings. It was a great balance of cheesy/creamy spicy goodness. Someone wanted to order one to go as a midnight snack! 

The 2 orders of chicken arrived next. Wow. HUGE portion! In fact, 1 portion was probably enough to get 2 people full already! The fried chicken was very well seasoned/marinated and most importantly, crisp on the outside and juicy on the inside. What a treat. The soy sauce garlic chicken was first fried, then covered in sauce. Perfect taste and didn't leave us feeling heavy or bloated. We surprised ourselves by clearing out all the chicken, all while sipping on more beer (Korean, of course). Must try 


As a friend was jokingly commenting about our healthy meal, the beef and veggie pot arrived. The beef, veggies, and mushrooms were perfectly cut and placed in the pot, which was simmered in a very well balanced broth. Very nice presentation. The broth was clear and eveything came together so well. Not your average veggie pot and definitely a good choice to get our daily dose of veggies.  

We were full but ordered another bottle of soju and kimichi fries to share. Oooh creamy kimchi sauce with fries. Something we have never tried before. Why didn't I think of this pairing earlier?? The ice cold soju went down smooth and a great way to top off for the night....and then we ordered more just because it was a good time. 

The crowd around us were young, energetic, and the whole place was great for what we wanted... good food, good drinks, good time with friends. Before we left, Chibee had one last surprise for us; the bill. Good price on top of everything else. This place has earned high marks for all my criteria.. hence the rare review.

I love fried chicken so it is good that there are more options apart from KFC.
Korean fried chicken is slightly different, it is best paired with beer and it typically comes with salad and pickles.
The typical portion is a basket of half a chicken which has a chicken leg, breast and chicken wings.

The staff spoke English which was great because I could ask them about the different fried chickens they serve.

As I can’t eat Kimchi they had non spicy options as well.
The regular fried chicken comes with a side of yoghurt sauce so if you are worried the chicken is going to be dry there is a sauce.

As mentioned earlier, all the chicken comes with pickles and salad.
The pickles here stand out from the rest because they are coloured and not white which made them pretty.
I asked them whether the colour was artificial and they said they put beetroot in the jar to give it that colour.
The pickles tasted great because they were sour and not sweet like some other places.

As I am not familiar with Korean fried chicken I had to ask what this was because I was puzzled how they put cream in the batter mix.
It turns out that the fried chicken is served with a pot of basil and pesto cream sauce for dipping like a fondue.

I chose the boneless chicken for this which was ideal because you just dip them in.
The sauce had a lovely strong basil taste but I found it too creamy.
It would be great if they came up with a cheese fondue sauce for dipping because I love cheese!

I went with a party of four and had a great experience eating and drinking there. They and another restaurant are the only ones in Hong Kong that sell this white bottle soju that taste 10 times better than the green ones. Really enjoyed the soy garlic chicken. The skin was crispy and the meat was juicy. The shin ramen had cheese on top, even though I cannot really eat spicy food, I still had a few bites because it was really yummy! So, when this new place popped up on OpenRice, I dragged boyfriend to go check it out with me.

Located in Causeway Bay, in a building more known for Japanese bars, is this place that serves Korean fried chicken and beer. Their menu also has various items more fitting for a drink than an actual meal like tteokbokgi and kimchi fries. Fried chicken came in their original to some strange one called basil pesto. Drinks menu not only included Korean beer, Hite, but soju and soju cocktails. Menu is in English and Korean. Waiters are Korean and speak English and fairly decent Cantonese.

Logo is pretty funny.

Soysauce Garlic Chicken ($178). As I can't eat spicy, we chose soysauce garlic. We weren't sure about the basil pesto so we decided to stick with the classics as our first time trying out the place. As everything is made to order, you do wait a bit. As all fried chicken places give out pickled daikon and salad while we wait for our chicken to be fried, we never really notice it takes a while. This place is a bit diffferent. They bring out the chicken, daikon and salad all at the same time on a pretty wooden serving board.

The skin was crispy. Meat was moist. The sauce was sweet with a touch of spice. It oddly reminded me of the same sauce in the food court in Sham Shui Po that serves Korean friend chicken nuggets made by a friendly Korean man. I like that sauce in Sham Shui Po so this was pretty good sauce. Portion size was a bit smaller than our usual favorite place even though it is a whole chicken. But boyfriend reasoned that perhaps it's due the fact we always chose the spring onion version at that place and we eat so it looks bigger from the mountain of spring onion.

Pickled Daikon. This was odd as it's the first time I saw them use red rice vinegar instead of white rice vinegar. It works the same but it looked odd to me. It was still crunchy and tart.

Salad. Usually when they give us the salad, it's shredded cabbage with thousand island sauce. I usually just pick at it as I don't like shredded cabbage salad. But this place uses actual mixed greens. I liked this a whole lot more.

Combined with a soft drink (for me) and a Korean beer (for boyfriend), it came out to $270. Pretty decent fried chicken in a comfortable setting. Will suggest to my friends as an alternative place for fried chicken.

The price seemed to be reasonable and I really wanted to try all the food in their menu but was too full after eating such a big portion of chicken and beer!
