這小店是適合喝點小酒聊天的地方店面比較小,而且這邊比較多啤酒選擇所以如果你愛喝啤酒的話,是個不錯的選擇其中有香蕉味啤酒🤣這晚點了-薯條這有點特別這薯條是蕃薯薯條。本身有點微辣。而醬汁也是。所以不能吃辣的。可先試薯條本身的味道先-雞翼。沙拉雞翼本身亦有微辣。而醬汁亦比較濃味🤔沙拉裡有主要是蕃茄和牛油果這兩樣一般吧🙈職員向我們介費Beef Tasting這樣可以一次過試三款牛牛的質地還可以。以這價錢可試三款牛就不要太高要求吧想不到週末來都沒太多人所以聊天小酌一杯是不錯的選擇職員們都很友善

The size of the restaurant is not big, able to fit 10 small table max. Went on a Friday night around 7ish and the place wasn't full. Interior wise, a chilled bar/cafe looking with wooden floors, Wooden chairs, menu on chalkboard hung above their bar tender area, nothing fancy or extravagant. We ordered one of their signature beef(A4 I think?), bone marrow, truffle sandwich, Mac n Cheese and two hand crafted beers.

The beef came with 3 sauce dishes and they were equally tasty. Meat itself was also tender and great. However, the portion was tiny: 5 pieces only. Great portion for a girl whose on diet ! There was also no way to utilise all the provided sauces since the meat portion was so petite
Priced at around $350-$400 for 5 chic-sized slices of beef in a restaurant like this was way overpriced.

Bone marrow was priced at something like $160. Taste was nice, texture was thick and oily. We were sharing amongst two so was just-right. Not sure how that will turn your appetite if consumed the whole oily thing alone without bread.

The truffled sandwich was ok, personally prefer the one at Cataxxxxxx more. Mac n cheese nothing special, not bad also but had better elsewhere. These two items were more reasonably priced compared to their beef menu. Crafted beer was also 'their thing' so we ordered a bottle each. Forgot the name but the taste was also ok. Like pineapple juice, nothing excitingly memorable.

Place also have 10% surcharge. Overall an okay experience but heavily overpriced in a restaurant setting like this. It's decorated as a chilled restaurant but the price is not chilled at all.

在西環 的一個角落, 本以為是一間普通的酒吧 , 普通的餐單卻是新奇美味的fusion菜, 最驚喜的話還是有十多款手工的啤酒, 已經許久沒有在香港的餐廳看到這麼齊全的手工啤酒。 店內的牛排比香港許多大 酒店的西餐廳都好, 沒想到在上環的一個小店也有這麼好的質素 可是走路離地鐵站比較遠 下次來還是駕車比較方便

陪frd來這家以crafty beer和牛為主的餐廳.佈置的很溫馨.餐廳小哥非常帥氣.可以選擇的手工杯酒種類都好多.有hk本地的但最喜歡的還是榛子味道的. 沙律牛油果配上西紅柿和檸檬酸汁很是清新.bone marrow非常好吃牛骨髓的香味在花椒油的襯托下簡直無與倫比.最最推薦的一定是beef tasting3種不同地方的牛.果然日本A4是我永遠的最愛.下次再帶朋友來過.

I came here the other night with a friend because he had a buy one get one free coupon for "main menu item". The entire restaurant was empty the entire time except for us which, to me, is never a good sign but we decided to give it a try anyways. The menu is pretty simple: bar food (finger foods), appetizers, steaks, non-beef protein options, and side dishes. The menu is pretty simple: bar food (finger foods), appetizers, steaks, non-beef protein options, and side dishes.
We both decided on 6oz Australian ribeye which was around $480 each which is pretty expensive for such a small piece but we figure if 1 is free it's not so bad. The fact that they also serve a 3oz portion is laughable because I'm not sure who eats that little. It comes with a small salad on the side which has a nice dressing but nothing too exciting. Along with the steaks came 4 dipping sauces (wasabi aioli, yuzu, Korean Bbq and miso) and 2 salts (charcoal and smoked). The steak itself was good, well cooked, tender and fresh but lacked seasoning so it was good that we had the salt and sauces.

We also ordered 2 sides ($48 each); roasted potatoes and truffle Mac n cheese. We liked that the potatoes were crispy but they too needed seasoning and benefited from the dipping sauces. The Mac n cheese didn't have a strong truffle taste which is good if you're not a fan but I expected it to be stronger. The pasta was interesting and I'm not sure what type it was as its not a shape id seen before and the texture was different than anything id had before but I liked the pasta. Because the dish is baked, the pasta got a bit dry and hard and would have benefited from a more generous portion of the truffle sauce.

In the end, we weren't able to use the entertainer coupon for buy one get one free because the steak we chose wasn't part of the deal. This annoyed us because there is no stipulation on the coupon and you'd think for a restaurant that has no business, they would want to try a bit harder to cater to the few customers they have because they have made some arbitrary rule about which mains do and do not count as a main menu item.

Overall or experience was mediocre at best. The food was decent but nothing particularly memorable other than the small portions and high price. The service was friendly if not a bit nervous but unaccommodating when it comes to using a coupon that should entice customers to come back, not confuse us and cause me to leave thinking I'll never return.

Bartenders were nice. Place was relatively quiet for a bar. Food was overpriced, and only served in very small portion. Beer was good but not stellar. Disappointed overall because we had high hopes.

Weekday日子出到上環做完嘢,肚空空想搵個地方坐低舒舒服服食少少嘢,經過尼間望入去感覺都企企理理,就行咗入去。開頭職員以為我係想坐低飲酒 我話其實我係想食啲嘢啫,佢就比個menu我話我知有幾款小食,仲推介尼款黑松露芝士厚多士比我。尼個多士係用咗兩塊塗上牛油的厚身麵包,裡面夾住黑松露同Gruyere、Cheddar、Mozzarellar三種芝士 麵包烘至外層脆口而中間心仍軟熟。將多士拉開,芝士好痴纏呀 黑松露亦唔算少。芝士味道濃 不過黑松露的香味更濃!但係略嫌芝士份量少咗啲。

Cute little shops with arcane and weird offerings, more than one spot selling micro brewery ales and more beards per capita than I've seen anywhere else. Who could forget the #HKWalls exhibition where you could walk down the many laneways and alleys and watch hip young things strut their stuff on the many brick walls canvases.That little strip around Upper Station

Who could forget the #HKWalls exhibition where you could walk down the many laneways and alleys and watch hip young things strut their stuff on the many brick walls canvases.

That little strip around Upper Station Street even held a little food festival last year, where masses of dressed-just-so-right locals and expats congregated to enjoy the many food options available. I'm not gonna lie, I love that little strip and am guilty of tripping out to many of the aforementioned activities..... I may even have a beard.

We'd been eying off the Crafty Cow ever since we first spotted it, the tiny little space looking like an awesome spot to enjoy a Sunday afternoon sippin' on a beer (if that's your thing) or enjoying a good little feed (which is my thing). I'd had plenty of opportunities to get along before we did, we'd even grabbed a Lemmy from the Craft Cow one sunny and super crowded afternoon. A Lemmy for those of you that have never heard of such a thing is a Kiwi lemonade, and they're pretty awesome. It was a Lemmy that also won me a free feed at the Craft Cow based on an #Instagram competition - sadly, a feed I never collected.

So, it was finally time to check out the Cow, one Sunday evening for a quick bite of dinner. Making our way down the hill from our Mid Levels apartment, we reflected that we'd miss wandering around Sheung Wan once our move to Wan Chai finally eventuated. We'd made a booking, which probably wasn't necessary as we were guided to one of the many available seats in the tiny corner restaurant slash bar (or bar slash restaurant, you choose).

Labeled a Gastro-Pub, the Crafty Cow is the creation of Executive Chef Basil Yu, who'd taken his years of experience working in fine dining establishments such as Amber and Epure, to bring his so-called 'Third Dining Experience' to the streets of Sheung Wan. If you're wondering what the third dining experience is, it seems to be Yu's attempt at bridging the generation gap of traditional foods and flavours, but brought to the latest generation - I can only assume that the third generation are almost exclusively hipsters!

While it wasn't super busy in the Crafty Cow, our one and only waiter was being run off his feet taking orders and bringing out booze, which mainly consisted of craft beers, to the few tables taken. There were a mix of locals and expats in attendance, all on the younger side and all looking the part. The open kitchen was seeing a bit of action, the two chefs behind the counter were busy doing their thing and the place seemed to humm quite nicely. It took a little longer that was comfortable for us, but eventually we were served and things got under way.

I'd initially been eying off one of the shakes available on the menu, and was mildly irritated when I was told that there was no ice cream for shake, so instead changed my order to a very girly sounding berry lemonade. The girl, who to be honest was always going to fit better into a gastro pub's zeitgeist ordered a Japanese pale ale called yoho Wednesday pussycat (actually crafted after a Belgian white). Again, this wasn't the girl's first choice, with her original request coming back with a similar response to my shake - sorry, we're out.

We did have better luck with the dining menu though, all of the options that we'd oped for were available, which was a relief. Unsurprisingly, a Gastro-Pub called the Crafty Cow had a lot of beef on the menu, but not exclusively, and we'd ordered some of the more interesting looking items to start off our meal.

Kicking off was the Khmer Hamachi Salad, consisting of charred sashimi grade yellowtail, served with crispy veggies and a khmer lime-chili dressing and finished off with shrimp crackers. It was a 'cracker' of a dish, the beautifully prepared yellowtail was simply delicious, the freshness of the fish dancing wonderfully on the palate with the sweet chili and lime dressing. There was just enough heat to make it interesting but not set the mouth on fire. I really loved that the dressing also permeated throughout the salad, ensuring that I finished of the dish in its entirety. Well, not quite, interestingly for such a 'cracking' dish, I didn't like the prawn crackers, which were way too prawny for my liking.

The girl's choice for a starter was equally delicious. The 'surf n turf bao' consisted of a pork belly with sweet n sour cabbage bao and a soft-shell crab with kimchi slaw and samba mayo bao. Now, if you're like me, you've just read that menu and gone 'yep, hipster bao', then you'd be not far off the mark, but boy did they taste great, especially the soft-shell crab, which was light, sweet and oh-so-tasty.

Given we were in a gastro-pub that specialised in meat, I was a little surprised with the girl's main selection of the 'non-beef' yellow spring chicken 'caesar', an interesting looking salad that consisted of a rediculously massive piece of charred romaine lettuce covered in black garlic caesar dressing, parmesan, bacon and of course chunks of chicken. Given the only serving utensils on the table were chopsticks, we had to make a request for a knife and fork so the girl could actually eat the beast of a salad. It wasn't the most refined looking salad you're gonna see, but it was pretty tasty, the black garlic sauce having an interesting sweet twang that worked nicely with the chicken. It was very messy to eat though and I was glad I'd gone for something a little easier to eat with chopsticks.

I'd gone with what was clearly the house special, the CC Beef Tasting platter, which consisted of three cuts of beef and a piece of grilled foie gras (which was an extra I'd selected). The three cuts were an A4 Kagoshima Wagyu ribeye, an M4 Tajima Australian Wagyu ribeye and an Aussie Wagyu hangar steak. The strips of beef were cooked perfectly and presented already sliced on a bread board that had a lettuce salad (that had a simply kick ass dressing) and the grilled foie gras on top. Right off the bat I went for the foie gras, which was severely under cooked and inedible and I thought, hold on, have I made the right choice.

Setting the foie gras aside, I took a slice of the rare hangar steak and was immediately transported to my happy space, it was superb. As I made my way along the beef strips, each was expertly cooked and really delicious - after sampling a couple of pieces, the girl had that wistful look on her face that indicated severe food envy. My only minor quibble about the beef was that the A3 had a piece of gristle at one end, which meant that I couldn't really finish off the lot (without a huge amount of chewing on my behalf).

Served with the beef were a handful of sauces that I didn't really try, but the girl thought were pretty darn nice, as well as a couple of different types of salt, which I did try and loved. One features of the Crafty Cow menu was their huge salt and sauce list, with too many to mention, you're definitely not going to lack seasoning!

For a Sunday dinner, we were pretty happy with the offerings at the Crafty Cow, there were enough choices for even the most discerning of hipsters - including a kick ass bone marrow dish that we didn't order, but saw a neighbouring table get - definitely something I'd try the next time.

It was pretty quiet though, my memories of the last few times that we'd either wandered by or purchased a Lemmy, the place had been pumping. I'd read an article in on of the Australian papers a couple of weeks ago, notifying the world that the end of hipsters was nigh. It's probably true too, I think we've reached "peak hipster" on that front and the decline is inevitable.

My only question is this - what will happen to the hipster establishments like the Crafty Cow? Will they evolve to the next generation of cool dudes? Or will they fade into obscurity? I'm not too sure, but I will say this, I'm not quite ready to shave my beard off yet.

又來《Crafty Cow》,又來這一個牛氣沖天兼酒氣沖天的小地方。對,有時候,我感覺到這地方的確有機會成為我陳真飲酒摸杯底的新主場。是次就因為朋友南瓜代表某雜誌去《Crafty Cow》做一個專題訪問,而我就有幸地又剛好有時間,跟埋一齊去見識一下,人家我採訪,也順道來同大廚 Basil 打個招呼及認識了另一位老闆 Giselle (前港姐林慧倩)。是日,除結交飲食及傳媒好友之餘,當然也飲飲食食,我們吃到的是《Crafty Cow》的拿手菜式,他們獨有的 Craft Beer 品牌及上次兩次午餐來並沒有機會食到的甜品。在此,我又重新介紹一下《Crafty Cow》的環境,《Crafty Cow》是一家酒吧及食店二合一的地方。看似酒吧的地方其實是他們的 open kitchen,而且亦因為是 open kitchen 的關係,他們不能用明火煮食,所以並沒有烏煙瘴氣的感覺。酒吧的範圍不大,但由手工啤到威士忌,以及其他用來製作特飲的 Beverage, 選擇可算是應有盡有,單是來飲酒,吃一吃小食,同朋友 Happy Hours 一下,既寧靜又能帶給大家開心歡樂的小店,就是我喜歡的飲酒環境。上

上兩次來,談天說地及食午餐為主,沒有留意餐廳的仔細地方,這一次給我發現了一些很細微的小擺設,一個只有小牛牛的擺設,同餐廳的牛主題十分之配合,非常之有心思。

《Crafty Cow》以手工啤酒做主題的,當然由啤酒說起,是日他們有一些 menu 上仍未有的新口味給我們一試。啤酒的名字不太記得了,但飲落帶有點點酸的果味。

另一個是他們的新進啤酒,Pale Ale 的柚子味啤酒,是 2015年的夏日限量,有柚子,多了點酸酸的果香,入口的感覺份外的消暑。

食物,Basil 首先 serve 的,是 Rocky Mountain Oyster,是我多次來笑說一定要試的美食,以往沒有點的原因,是因為同行的姪女不願意食,而且正確來說,中午是不供應的。

酥炸的 Rocky Mountain Oyster,其實不是 Oyster,本以為入口會是一粒粒粉狀的蛋白質豐富食物,但炸過出來的,竟然帶點爽口,爽起來也有點腍,入口有少少滑。很特別,又未至於奇怪,身旁雜誌社的女助手戰戰兢兢地吃了第一口,她立即喜愛上,狂吃.....

另一個是 Numbing Bone Marrow,是一個中西合璧的食品,以西式的方法去烤牛骨髓,但配上的,是川味的麻辣口味,有點肥潤的口感,是牛骨髓帶出的,另有一點麻麻的口感,就是那可愛的麻辣味道,Numbing 是麻木的意思,從名字上已經說得好白,食後感就是會令你麻木,把你麻醉一下。

Ox Tongue Tortilla Espanola,是西班牙式的奄列,這奄列著重的不單是蛋香,而是用餡的味道如何同蛋做配合。這是用牛舌做餡,味道多了點點的濃,口感多了點點的爽脆,感覺不錯。

CO Beef Tasting 是《Crafty Cow》的一個 signature,美味的牛扒盆,包含有 A5 Miyazaki Wagyu Ribeye (宮崎和牛肉眼扒),A4 Kagoshima Wagyu Striploin (鹿兒島和牛紐約客牛扒) 同 Aussie Wagyu Hanger Steak (澳洲和牛牛隔膜扒),三種上等的牛伕牛扒。

中間的是宮崎和牛肉眼扒,果真是一片入口即溶的牛肉,肥美不膩,入口充滿了牛脂肪的香口味道,吃得出是上等。

次一級的,是上方的鹿兒島和牛紐約客牛扒,牛前腰脊肉,肉質比較粗,但入口也是同樣的細滑,入口也有肥美的牛脂肪,也是一份令人感覺很 top 的牛扒。

Hanger Steak牛隔膜扒,口感更加之煙韌,肉味也是十分之香口,雖有煙韌口感,但吃得出其肉質是嫩的,非常之好。

之後有甜品,Poho Beach,就是一個以朱古力為主的酒特飲,有朱古力香,有酒精的,有士多啤梨味,有玫瑰花香,也有檸檬的酸味,是一個甜品,也是一個 cocktail,非常之有特色。

之後單飲 Haig Club ,Haig Club 又名碧咸威,因為是球星 David Beckham 代言的一個威士忌品牌。好似他也是老闆之一。這酒是 Single Grain Whiskey,同我飲慣的 Single Malt 不同,味道比較 light,酒精味也比較辣,可能我一開始學飲就飲 Single Malt,所以......

原來店主幾個人都愛威士忌,所以《Crafty Cow》有不少威士忌供應。之後再給我們品嚐的,是宮城峽,入口很純很 warm,但我依然喜歡..."響" 其次是 "Bowmore"。

《Crafty Cow》,有好的食物,有好的酒,中午偷閒,工餘品酒,晚飯享饗,寧靜及 friendly 的環境,是城中 yuppie 享受人生的好地方。同埋,我好開心,我終於食左牛波子啦!!!!!!!

第一次食牛骨髓平時我應該會好驚唔敢食但佢真係好看 而且賣相好靚好啦我就試一試⋯將牛骨髓放起mini toast上食有食緊脂肪既感覺 牛味幾重 不過真係有d油膩少少地食就可以

並沒有帶著期望到Crafty Cow, 純粹一心試新店, 結果一試難忘, 這晚充滿驚喜, 並讓我從此愛上 hot cocktail!!!調酒師得悉我未能喝凍飲料, 我心中巳盤算將渡過無酒精的一夜, 怎料... 調酒師奉上各式各樣的熱cocktail!!!充滿蜜味和暖意的酒極易入口, 原來此乃花雕酒, 伏特加酒之混合, 花椒濃烈芬芳, 慢慢一口一口嚐下去, 我的脾胃被和暖起來, 猶如冬天吃下火鍋, 滿足得很! 不得不讚調酒師的創意!!!黑森林: 一杯熱朱古力酒, 配以新鮮藍莓, 仿佛吃下黑森林蛋糕~~~另一朱古力雞尾酒, 外型極討好, 酒杯上灑滿朱古力粉, 以新鮮士多啤梨雕成的花放在冰塊上, 怎不叫人心動?天啊! 驚喜不斷, 來了個小盆栽? 這杯充滿草本味的雞尾酒, 喝下讓人感到輕鬆安神。必須再次強調以上都是熱的雞尾酒, 此生第一次嚐, 每杯的酒濃度恰到好處, 不會搶了主體的味道, 完美的平衡之作!!!放心~~~ 這裡的食物同樣好, 只是雞尾酒太出色, 所以花下筆墨多作記錄, 豬肉腸, 炸蠔, 炸軟殼蟹包, 配以三款醬汁及三種鹽的和牛...等等都熱騰騰送上, 食材固然新鮮, 食物味美可口
