Came here recently due to recommendations for dinner. To cut it short, I think the so called Dinner Set Menu was not attractive at all - especially when there are no choices for the appetizers and the soup choices are very 'tin' like varieties, very Hong Kong food style. In the end, opted to do A La Carte. The main course dishes are roughly in the $188 + 10% range. It is much more expensive than the set dinner in this sense, although there was no point having soup and appetizers I didn't like anyway.
The main courses, some are quite tasty but some are very Hong Kong like, especially their pastas. There will not be any mistakes that this isn't cooked by a Hong Kong person at all, the tell tale signs of the overly creamy and pungent under-cooked garlic, the not so aldente pasta, plus the way the pasta is mixed together.
Meat tended to be overcooked as well, although the seasoning showed an effort in creating a multi-layered taste.
Not a bad effort at the wine list, but there is a corkage charge if you bring your own.
Generally, its better than a lot of local Western style restaurants, but it hasn't really escaped from the Jimmy's kitchen period - so its still slightly out-fashioned in today's culinary world. As such I think they're over charging the customers - both a la carte as well as dinner sets (having bad selections of choices), plus the portions aren't entirely that big either for the price paid. Over $210 for main courses after 10%, if you think about it.
