If you are looking for a place that break promises, values money
over customers, this is the place to go! I got my birthday booking of 20 canceled on
late notice because Hooters over booked, and they refuse to make up for their
mistake. I can't believe they put me through this experience, as everything was promise but they will break them if it means less work, more money for them. The full incident below...
I made a booking on the 4 August, almost 1
month in advance in order to secure a table for the Mayweather McGregor fight
on 27 August. My booking of 20 pax was secure and confirmed. With
the fight taking place soon, they realize the fight is so popular and call me
on Monday night 7pm (21), asking me to place a deposit of $2,500
as this is the new policy now due to many bookings.
I confirm with the manager (Max) that I cannot head over to
put down a deposit now, but since they do not take deposit over bank transfer, I
confirm with Max that I will head over and place the deposit the following day
22 August at around 6pm.
On the next day, Hooter’s Max call me at around 3pm,
confirming what time I will arrive. I Have again reassure him I will be there
after work and pay my $2,500 deposit. They have raise the minimum spend per
person from $200 to $250, which I have no problem with.
And at 5pm (1hr before I arrive for deposit), the unexpected
happen. The manager call me and said they accidently gave my table away, as there
are walk in customers and they overbook the place and took their cash for
deposit. Since I was heading over, I have decided to go there anyway and
discuss in person.
When I arrived, the manager quickly pull me away as they
understood they made a huge mistake. I ask for explanation and what I got is they
screw up the bookings, and they have to sacrifice my booking to solve all the
problems at once. My table of 20 can break into smaller tables or standing
table so they can fit more and make more money out of it.
I did ask for solutions and even compromise of having a
smaller table, 15 pax or even 10 pax. As my friends are coming over from
overseas to celebrate my bday and to watch the fight. Hooters offer me nothing,
not 1 single seat. I did ask them to provide another option outside of hooters
for me to watch the fight, since the fight is on demand and places are booking
out. They did provide an option, yet I rejected as the environment and experience
is not what I am looking for.
I found it very disappointing on how they treat customers, I
ask them what you would do if you were in my position. The manager Max’s
response was very honest, we made a mistake and will not do anything about it. “We
choose money over your experience.“
