粉綠色 ( 對,我認為這種是粉綠色 ) 門面那種法國風格老遠就確認到
我們挑選了左上角的梳化位置原以為可以靜靜談心
但和鄰桌之間的近距離和音樂聲量度 ( 輕鬆快歌主打 ),唯有鬥嘈、鬥大聲講野
不過,其他座位的闊落度是正常的,所以請自行對號入座

試前食評功課普遍一致推薦 CEufs au plat 鵝肝多士 + Florentine / Benedicte / Royale 三種 Benedict Eggs
不過我地揀既係餐牌裡的樓上和對家:

沒有等很久,食物都差不多時間上
一籃子麵包有: 牛角包 + 提子酥 X 2 + 朱古力粒酥條
基本上三者口感一樣 — 夠鬆化,提子酥甜度已很足夠,不需要再加 Jam n Butter
朱古力粒酥條甜度比提子酥低一點、而且中心帶點軟,最好食係佢
Le petit Panier 麵包籃 ($ 48) + CEuf poche 磨菇班尼迪蛋 ($ 118)

白汁不是濃的那種,較液體,口感亦較薄,不過味道夠 Creamy 和磨菇好夾
蛋屬 S Size 很新鮮,整體不錯
薯條好老實,味道真係似 M 記,比 M 記優勝既係炸得唔油較乾身,感覺卡路里無咁邪惡

最後追加了一項甜品
Tarte Tatin, pomme et calvados…省略 ( 點解個名可以咁長 ),簡單而言即係蘋果撻加舊雪糕
味道同街邊甜品鋪食既味道一樣,無甚特別

As we were a little late, we omitted the appetizers and went straight for the main course, which wasn't on the menu any more, but the friendly staff said they would be happy to oblige our craving for "Moules Frites" (mussels with French fries).
The presentations was really cute - the fries came in a little basket that looks just like the frying baskets you see in restaurants in France...

The Moules were just perfect: They served the really small mussels that you usually only get in Europe (very sweet and aromatic flesh; must more intense than the usual fare). The Moules were just right, tender but not overcooked and with a generous juis and pretty little gem-like nuggets of lemon that added the zesty flair to the amazing aroma. I dare say these were the best Moules I've had outside of Europe so far. The French fries were golden and had a nice crunch to them while retaining a fluffy texture on the inside - just how we like them.

We were offered second helpings of fries, but instead of giving in to our inner pig we indulged in our inner hog and ordered some delicious desserts.
My chocoholic friend ordered a rather devilish cocolate cake that was filled with hot chocolate "lava" like a fondant and came topped with a very nice icecream and a dollop of praline. It didn't last long on his plate so I think it is safe to say that it was excellent.

I went for the Paris-Brest, one of my favourite desserts at La Marmite and while it was very yummy, I was a little disappointed that it came with pistaccios than with the usual almonds that I love so much. Still, it was rather delicious and I didn't leave a morsel.

Overall, a successful dinner. The staff was extremely friendly and helpful and we really enjoyed the relaxed unpretentious atmosphere and the nice background music. It felt just like dining in Paris. We'll be back for sure!

I was sceptical after reading some of the reviews but we decided to give it a go anyway. We found the service to be excellent and the food was good too. We shared the charcuterie to start and had the small portion. This was ample for 2 of us and was a generous sized portion. The accompanying bread was delicious. My husband had the beef shin which really was outstanding. Cooked to perfection, really tender and presented beautifully. It cam with dauphinoise potatoes which were a tad underdone. I h

I had the pumpkin risotto which was a bit too salty for my tastebuds but nontheless tasty.
I would definitely return, probably when I am in the mood for a steak so I can have the beef shin.

餐湯為洋蔥湯Traditional French baked onion soup with a melted Gruyere cheese croute. 它的質地濃稠, 每啖湯都散發著洋蔥味, 但不會濃到搶喉. 至於Gruyere cheese, 雖然被湯浸淋了, 但仍帶有超濃芝士味哩.

五成熟的羊架, Pan roasted Lamb rack with cumin ratatouille and dauphinois gratin, 幸好, 羊膻味並不算過份強烈, 質感嫩滑非常. 沒有水長流的血水, 卻從彈牙的羊肉中滲出肉汁, 很出色的羊架! 墊在羊架下的菜和焗薯仔, 也不求祈. 菜是十分嫩滑, 而焗薯仔就充滿奶滑, 夠香甜.

我也吃了些友人的意粉. 看這碟綠色的Tagliatelle pasta with pistou sauce, fresh parmesan and garlic baguette, 都因為醬汁極之creamy的原故, 令每條麵條都黏在一起了. 雖然如此, 其煙韌度卻強勁, 於是我把蒜蓉包和它一併咀嚼, 效果很特別.

吃完主菜, 怎會少得甜品? 我的甜品Cheese of the day with truffle honey and candied Grenoble walnuts. 這是集柔軟的芝士, 甜脆的合桃和黑松露蜂蜜於一身的甜品. 原來, 把合桃和芝士置於多士之上, 再沾上黑松露蜂蜜, 會感到軟滑加香脆, 就成了一個多重口感的甜品.

友人的甜品Vanilla mousse and macerated berries mille-feuille. Mille-feuille是又薄又脆卜卜, 但別忘記要連同夾在其中的紅莓一起吃. 事關紅莓太酸了, 和脆餅同吃才可減低酸度.

法國菜一向給予人價錢高昂的感覺, 但這裡卻價錢親民, 質素高, 真的tres bien(very good)!

朋友生日, 想係soho搵間餐廳慶祝下,見食評推介呢間餐廳,又想食法國菜, 一於trytry。環境比想像失望了一點, 可能是燈光問題,個人覺得燈光暗一點會更好。食物方面, 叫了頭盤,2個主菜....頭盤,都ok, 有炸了波波的goat cheese, normal goat cheese, 幾特別, 份量雖少,但食已經有點漏... main course 的慢煮豬, 味道唔錯, 有驚喜意大利飯最失色, 南瓜係淡果都ok接受到,但加入雪青豆就扣晒分, 係法國菜食到青豆味的飯, 有點茶記feel.....本來想叫個dessert 吹下candle, 但因為意大利飯太失望的關係,轉場地食dessert算了

係中環甘多OL放飯既日子之中,我隨機揀左間café去食飯,出奇地俾我搵到尼d水準既lunch set。我同我同事share 左兩個lunch set我十分之中意食benedict egg 所以我又點可以放過佢呢。佢既蛋同埋三文魚肉非常之夾,唔會好飽肚但我覺得好滿足:) 我同事叫左太陽蛋同埋鵝肝既toast, 我同佢share 左半舊。好好好好食! 佢個鵝肝係煎得岩岩好同埋佢d油量岩岩好,配合面包簡直係一流。最後要講係佢個薯條都好好味︿︿

和久違的朋友相約在蘇豪此法式小店吃個brunch, 早早便來到了, 成了第一檯的客人, 看看餐牌, 中午時段提供brunch和lunch的選擇, 我們便分別點了兩客午餐來share。首先是香煎鵝肝多士, 鵝肝煎得入口即溶, 只可惜其他的配料味道略為普通, 而且份量略小。再來的是grilled steak, 以二百多元的牛扒來說, 牛扒的味道也算是合理, 只是沒有特別。牛扒甚為厚身, 作配菜的炸薯條也是中規中距。總括用說, 此午餐也沒有太大的特別, 所以相信也不會特別再回來了。

三道菜的晚餐前,
以鮮味的蟹肉跟Bloody Mary打成的雪芭,清清味蕾;

小妹選了吞拿魚沙律作頭盤,
吞拿魚以火燒過外圍,內里仍是粉嫩柔軟,可說是一剛一柔的口感,
搭著流心的鵪鶉蛋同吃,令魚肉更滑更嫩!
若多些沙律菜蔬,我會更滿足!



好友則點了蝸牛,內里的蔬菜濃湯以蒜香、牛油等混進香芹打成,
蝸牛肉質彈牙,蘸上活力感滿滿的湯頭同吃,
清爽之感,跟夏日匹配!

主菜選了羊架!
始終沒有肉的晚上,肚皮會有說不出的空虛感!(害羞)
半熟的羊架,用輕力就能把她切開,無筋的肉質頗有嚼勁,肉汁滿多!

如喜歡強勁羶味的朋友,
羊架旁邊的羊脂肪絕對不能錯過,其極富濃郁羶香及羊油,
吃畢,嘴巴充滿著羊的芬芳,讚!





期間,我們還多點了藍青口配薯條分著吃!
忌廉汁滑膩而濃稠,感覺對板,香脆的薯條掛上醬汁同吃,很是滋味,
可惜有少量青口不太新鮮,有改善空間!

近日開始減少甜吃,當晚以芝士作甜品
其中最吸引的可算是松露蜜糖,其多了一份複雜的芬芳,
不論沾多士、合核或芝士來吃,同樣很搭!

再淺嚐了朋友的野莓甜點,
這款的賣相吸引!
以薄脆夾著煮過的莓肉而成,酸度很強;
建議多配一球雪糕,平衡味道!



以整體食物質素、餐廳地段、價位、情調... 來說,
相信大家都豪得起!
法菜,其實沒想像中的高不可攀!!!

Having walked past La Marmite on many occasions I have wondered what this classically designed and welcoming shop front would have to offer.And on this occasion I had to change to sample the food at this restaurant whose name reminds me of that dark brown spread.The item on the starter list aroused the most attention was the foie gras creme brulee which the majority of us ordered.Then for mains I was torn between the 48 hour pork or steak and at the last moment I choose the steak.Fois gras creme

Then for mains I was torn between the 48 hour pork or steak and at the last moment I choose the steak.
Fois gras creme brulee: we all looked forward to this Heston Blumenthal style creation, I pushed my fork through the brulee and scooped some of the creme and brulee. The taste was disappointing all round, the was a distinct lack of fois gras flavour. It was just a feintly flavoured egg/milky creme. It felt a chore finishing it off.
Steak and chips: after a disappointing starter I would hope the steak would make up for the poor starter but no, the steak was tough and chewy.
Overall a very disappointing dining experience, my colleague who had the pork said it really did taste like it was cooked for 48 hours as it was very dry and his comment was lets cross this off out list of restaurants to visit. So I won't be visiting again.

Starter 來得非常精緻 White crab meat with bloody Mary sorbet and coriander

一打開玻璃蓋子看到是雪白蟹肉和的粉紅色的雪芭, 顏色有著強烈對比。

而蟹肉味道清甜配上微辣的bloody Mary 雪芭, 味道獨特的之餘又十分配合。

冰冰涼涼好岩夏天吃。

以大蒜牛油汁快煮方法, 烹煮法國蝸牛, 味道不會太濃烈之餘,

淡淡牛酒香在咀內陪迥著, 可惜吃一兩隻有沙, 的確有點影響。

小妹喜歡吃飯所以選了意大利飯為主菜, 對Risotto更鍾愛。

Poached turbot fillets with cep risotto, baby leeks and read wind fish sauce


這裡的risotto飯粒煮到恰到好處,不會過硬而且保留點咬口,十分迎合我們的口味,配上的紅酒魚汁味

道不是太出,但反正沒有影響整體味道。

配上是水煮比目魚,出奇地一點魚腥也沒有而且滑溜非常,

別看似份量不多,對小妹而言是岩岩好。

好味之餘亦要追求健康,是現在追求美食的目標。

Vanilla mousse and macerated berries mille-feuille 為整個晚上加多一點

甜美。以新鮮野莓打成果醬,伴以薄脆片,酸甜夾雜著的快感。甜得

令人開懐。

大家在美食,笑聲下渡過了一個輕鬆愉快晚上。

夏日炎炎的下午, 即刻找一間餐廳避暑兼填肚, 点指兵兵下, 選擇了此店.看了餐牌選擇並不多, 選了Royale, 是三文魚加Egg Benedict, 底層的飽並沒有突出之處, 三文魚就非常鮮甜, 入口即溶, 上層的煮水疍, 有一隻是失敗了, 上枱時己漏黄, 但疍香, 疍白是嫰滑的.  伴碟是一盆炸薯條, 加入了鹽和黑胡椒, 新鮮出爐, 非常好味.  朋友就点了Foie Gras Creme Brulee, 將鵝肝醬混入creme brulee再焗, 面層是一層焦香的焦糖, 食落帶甜又帶苦, 趣卜卜.  將醬揸在薄薄的脆麵飽上, 鵝肝的味並沒有被creme brulee蓋著, 香滑, 可口非常.  不錯之選.

I'm not used to the soft, slightly fluffy and warm baguette since I come back from my Europe trip, but I have to admit, it is good with the tasty Aioli to soften your tongue and warm up your stomach. Aioli, is a mixed special sauce featured in anchovies and mayonnaise, plus different seasonings. The taste is quite strong and very similar to garlic, but actually it is chives; as a paste to bread, it just makes your hand keep on moving towards bread platter.

All my favorite raw ingredients are included in this cold starter, which is excluded to the named 3-course. I like the pink sorbet very much for its 'freezing' and fresh sweet taste, which at the same time, make a balance to the smashed crab. Overall is like fruity sweet crossover seafood sweet.

One soup and those two starters can satisfy any client's need for liquid, for salad, or for French signature. The lovely green-color sauce in the plate of French Snails, is quite well-done. It is lightly made and keep a thin liquid texture, tasty but not too strong as a starter.
The salad is a plate of colors, which feed my eyes well first. I love the thick-cut Tuna covered by the thin smoked skin, but I will appreciate a heavier smoked taste. I know the Quail Egg contains too much Cholesterol, while it gives such a farm-taste, which is fresh, nature and with a perfect semi-liquid texture.

There are four main courses provided, from risotto/pasta to seafood or roasted. The most economical one must be the lamb, which contains two pieces in one plate and made perfectly to be juicy and soft. I won't criticize the lamb's original quality, coz it is impossible to be served by a superior piece of raw material in such a price. It has fat, and maybe a lot, but you can give up those parts. Plus, I do love Cumin Ratatouille (those cute vegetable cubes) which follows French traditional family/farm-style, and Dauphinois Gratin, especially the multi-layer one.
Mussels with fries, it is an interesting combination with light (seafood) and heavy (fries). Big size mussels covered with light cream sauce, and the fresh and slightly salty sea taste is not disturbed.

Two typical French desserts as the happy ending, to choose fresh & fruity or cheese-fragrance. I think mille-feuille doesn't make a good balance of berries sour and vanilla mousse sweet, while I do find the later one is perfectly made to be light but good-taste. Compared to that, I'm more in to the cheese. Formage, actually doesn't meet my expectation; it should have liquid core and in such a devil way to float onto the plate. While the truffle with honey is impressive, such an easy mix but a big taste!

Next had the mussels which were plump and fresh.
The sauce was thick and creamy which was great for dipping the fries.
French mustard also went well with this dish because it made it more appetizing and balanced out the heaviness with a mustard kick.

The honey truffle provides a new experience for the cheese platter because the sweetness is paired with fragrant and strong tasting truffle.

平時吃蝸牛多數配薯蓉,這個 French snails sauteed in garlic butter with parsley puree 給人清新的感覺,沒有殼的蝸牛,啖啖肉,吃得特別暢快,用蒜蓉牛油芹菜等製成的醬汁,翠綠非常,味道帶有濃郁的草鮮味,而蝸牛肉質鮮嫩,帶有彈性,整個配搭給人健康的感覺。

而主菜就是 Tagliatelle pasta with pistou sauce, fresh parmesan and garlic baguette,傳來陣陣的蒜蓉包香味,麵包非常香脆可口。意大利闊麵條沾滿了青醬,淡淡的青綠色,味道較清新,宜伴以帕馬森乾芝士同吃。

最後就是甜品,愛莓的我見到有 berries 的選擇,基本上都不用多考慮,一定是點這個 Vanilla mousse and macerated berries mile-feuille ,雖然名為 mile-feuille (法式千層酥),但和平時常見的不太一樣。薄薄的酥片,甜度適中,浸過的紅莓和雲尼拿慕絲配搭得宜,與甜甜酸酸的紅莓汁同吃,有消除飽滯感,如果再配以新鮮的紅莓伴碟,相信更得我歡心。

忙碌了一個星期,週末當然要叉叉電,給最愛一個驚喜,帶他/她去嘆個Brunch或者All day breakfast吧!La Marmite環境優美舒適,很適合週末放鬆的心情!La Marmite位於Soho區,到處也有很多來自各地菜式的餐廳,花多撩亂。不過La Marmite以帶南法色系的粉綠色為主色,十分悅目,你一定不會錯過。餐廳樓高兩層,粉綠色營造了舒適、帶點陽光氣息的感覺。店中佈置精美,掛畫、壁燈,彌漫著浪漫情調,是日還有一對準Couple在拍攝Pre-wedding的片段呢!今次點了名為Royale的Eggs Benedict。沙律加入了黑醋橄欖油,開胃醒神。Muffin鬆餅不用煙肉而用上了來自蘇格蘭的煙三文魚,富海水味,混合著水煮蛋及荷蘭汁同吃,味道鮮美好味。另有薯條伴碟,炸得香脆乾身。Couple們不妨偶爾吃個Weekend Brunch放鬆享受一下喔!
