Booked Paul's Kitchen for X'mas dinner because I wanted to try the "English Cuisine" since I was brought up on excellent sunday roasts and school lunches in UK. We had 12 people, choosing from the the 3 course set and the bill was close to $5,000. We had many bottled water and coffee too.The roast chicken, rib eye steak and salad were good. We had 12 people, choosing from the the 3 course set and the bill was close to $5,000. We had many bottled water and coffee too.

The roast chicken, rib eye steak and salad were good. Duck breast was okay but dessert could be better. Also the cheapest wine ($300) was more than okay.

At this price, I have nothing to complain. British food is never fine nor exquisite. I think they have to make a choice between fine dining and wholesome heartwarming meals.

The service was sincere and adequate. Will go back again to support this little eatery which obviously is trying their best.

你話我老作都禁話!食過一次他們的雞後真係會上癮食第二次,重有個甜品千層脆都好正,Graphfruit 沙拉配水牛cheese,原來可以叫佢加大,是免費的(第二次先知;因我大食,他們晚餐冇飯之類供應).Overall 是值得再試!

I have been here for lunch twice. Food quality is quite good! They do have set menu with 3 courses. The first time visit, we go in group of 5 people, so that we have ordered all the lunch set for sharing. I like the potato mash thing and the Mushroom risotto.The second time visit, I ordered the spaghetti! Fair and nice.Environment is great, and comfortable. For a HKD6x lunch set, I think it's pretty ok!

Last night was my birthday and my gf has arranged a surprise dinner for me at Paul's Kitchen. The restaurant is all white with a comfortable feeling once it entered. Last night was my birthday and my gf has arranged a surprise dinner for me at Paul's Kitchen.

The restaurant is all white with a comfortable feeling once it entered. It was a busy night and luckily we have made the reservation.

They only do set menu with 3 course and the waiter told us that they have some fresh blue mussels just arrived. We ordered 300g for appetizers.

The mussels is in white wine cream sauce, very fresh and the sauce taste excellent. The starter wasn't very special as I had a Chicken Caesar while my gf had Salmon Tartar.

I ordered their signature Roasted Chicken for main and surprisingly the chicken is not dry at all. It's very tender and juicy. My gf ordered rack of lamb and she said is good too. (I didnt try as I don't like lamb)

Dessert we had apple crumble and warm chocolate pudding. They have put my name onto the plate for Happy Birthday. It's a very nice little surprise and I have to say the desserts are very good.

Overall, it's a very good dining experience. Although it's not like fine-dining but it has a home feel cooking.

A cosy and comfortable restaurant with all white decor. Serves basic but well prepared dishes such as soup, salads, pasta, roast chicken, steaks, fish etc. I particularly like their desserts, which are normally British favourites such as apple crumble, bread and butter pudding, trifles etc. The set dinners are a good value at $250-$280 for 3 courses incl. tea/coffee. 有Oli 和KC 食評之後, 就輪到我.星期五, 同事帶領, 就在大排檔的隔離.訂了六人檯, 五人坐, set lunch 全部$68: 沙律/餐湯+ 主菜+ 茶/咖啡.和Oli 一樣, 要了沙律+ risotto先來麵包, 麵包幾軟身, 我也塗了多多牛油, 吃了兩片.沙律是mozzarella cheese, 兩片蕃茄, 幾片Romaine, 醋汁酸度我接受到.主菜是Mushroom risotto, 份量我來說都可以; 不知是否是飯的問題, 有些有點硬身, 有些又有點軟, 做不到有口感的味道來.味道較為清淡的一類, 菇味不夠, 也不夠多; 又不creamy, 明顯是吃素~如果夠creamy 就非常夠一個lunch.地方大部份都是白色, 深啡色椅子, 都幾好坐.p.s. 對著下面果條橫街有間新開拉麵店, 得閒試試先.

味道較為清淡的一類, 菇味不夠, 也不夠多; 又不creamy, 明顯是吃素~
如果夠creamy 就非常夠一個lunch.

地方大部份都是白色, 深啡色椅子, 都幾好坐.

見KC評語不錯,我又專程來試試。全白色佈置,環境唔錯,加上靚仔廚師,尚未食已主觀地加了分數。先上一籃法包,吸引程度一般,烘得脆脆的,我只是淺嘗,不想浪費"配額"。Set lunch $68有三道菜,沙律或湯、主菜及餐茶。頭盤我要了沙律,有兩細塊的mozzarella cheese、蕃茄及羅馬生菜,淋上香濃的黑醋汁,同事就嫌醋汁太過酸。而同事要的西蘭花忌廉湯,佢話西蘭花味香濃。大家的主菜都是蘑菇意大利飯,份量不算多,對男士們來講可能不夠,但我就剛好。飯本身煮得腍了少少,味道較淡,依稀食到上湯味,而芝士及蘑菇味都是淡淡的,近乎不存在。這樣都有個好處的,是沒有那麼膩滯。餐茶只是要了檸茶,只得兩片薄薄的檸檬,茶味太濃了,如果用來沖奶茶較適合,當檸茶就有種苦澀味。

之前對這裡也略有聽聞,對其水準,眾說紛紜,就趁是日約了朋友吃飯,來一試。裝修以白色為主調,感覺舒服簡潔,雖然檯椅擺得頗密,但也算是幾好坐。午餐兩道菜連飲品,也只是68蚊,看賣相也不俗,單看價錢,是不錯的。前菜就要了凱撒沙律,而主菜則選了英式燴雞配扁意粉。先來一籃麵包,是烘熱了的法包,幾軟熟,塗上牛油更好吃。侍者見我們快速的「清了籃」,便醒目的問我們要不要來多一籃,很體貼,服務一欄有分加;凱撒沙律賣相也不錯,羅馬生菜吃起來鮮脆,煙肉粒的味道就不夠強,亦硬了一點,不過加上沙律醬汁,也交足功課的了;燴雞扁意粉同樣是賣相討好,味道雖然不濃烈,但燴得軟腍,如果可以加強一點香草的味道就更好。扁意粉很有咬口,煮麵的時間剛剛好。可惜醬汁是太淡及水汪汪了一點,如果可以做得再濃味一些,會更合口味。餐後的咖啡,苦而不香,水準一般。埋單每人75蚊,食物水準不錯,服務好,而環境也算舒適,以中環午市西餐來說,是可以一試的。題外話:對於大廚,友人的意見是「幾靚仔,又後生」的。

是晚既set dinner 係有湯或者係Pear Salad,主菜係Grilled Seabass、煎牛扒同埋燒春雞,甜品係Chocolate Mousse、Bread Pudding同埋Apple Crumble。其實樣樣我地都有食d架。個湯就無試,不過睇落都幾OK;個啤梨沙律就麻麻啦,因為片得太薄,多d就好味d囉。個主菜既燒春雞好得,醃得好又煎又焗完都好嫩滑,呢個係主廚推介,值得一試。個魚都幾好,煎完出黎好金黃但係又keep 到水份。我件牛扒我估係最易整架啦,不過竟然失左手,後尾大廚話因為件扒薄左,所以煎個陣over左囉,做唔到我要既半生熟。甜品個朱古力慕絲唔知點解食左落去有d『封喉』既感覺,食完兩啖就咳啦。至於個Bread Pudding 我都無試因為我重來都唔食既!呢間小餐廳都係剛剛開始,做左都未夠一個月,希望下次黎個陣佢再進步d啦。

Seafood 薯派- 完全唔掂﹐汁少not creamy enough﹐seafood唔香﹐Marks & Spencers 個Fisherman's Pie掂過佢好多好多...可惜HK無得買﹐如果唔係我實買比佢試下!
Apple crumble - 一個15歲都煮得掂既甜品我誤會係safe choice, but...同事教我一句說話叫"高處未算高﹐底處未算底\" finally meant sth to me! If 你意為main dishes are not close to satisfaction then...try their dessert!! 點解咁醜怪唔serve the custard separately instead of一大pat咁pat落個過甜既crumble到?? 同咪點解個crumble 咁唔juicy??

Anyways, regarding to份量夠唔夠對一個矮矮地既女仔來說係ok既但我個friend就有少少...係我地walk past 九記聞到d beef香時真係流晒口水!!

最後係要題下就係飲食男女喇...mmm...篇野我未睇過但你地知唔知到magazines係點run架?? 知唔知advertorials係咩? journalist點pick邊間restaurant去寫? 你肯定佢地係pick而唔係其他因數??

Well, 最後我諗如果佢地唔improve﹐任佢爸爸﹑媽媽financially幾support佢都好﹐佢都未必做得長。雖然我唔夠膽係honey面前criticise佢個friend但我希望佢會聽其他客人既comments. 我honey話仲要遲下去多次晚市support下喎!! T^T 唉~~~~ I guess I am just glad that I am not the one who's paying!!

If I was, i'd def rather go to Fat Angelo's, Jimmy's Kitchen, Sunning, Tavoli...其實比我過去九記都好呀!! I love my beef, keekee

So ppl out there...don't let my comment stop you from going~ it could just be down to personal taste. If you do go and have comments abt his food, you shld really tell him and hope he'll change and improve!

薯蓉(好似話有魚,但係唔覺) - 個底落左蛋,好「稀」,我覺得個汁唔得,D薯蓉都唔得,味道好比茶餐廳既扒餐送的薯蓉

意大利飯- 最ok 呢碟,水水咁,不過面頭既牛肉粒幾「un」

甜品本來想試佢個bread pudding,無,得apple crumble,照殺。呢碟野最ok,不過甜左少少,仲有就係上面既cream定乜鬼都唔係靚野,食得出。

同事話勸癦 屎馮德倫做waiter好過做廚師,我就話如果d野係佢煮既,咁就真係做樓面好過;如果d 野唔係佢煮既,就唔該搵過個好手勢既師傅o勒。

計埋$87一位唔係貴,但係好似佢呢區soho尾,都有唔少同佢同價但係好味過佢好多既餐廳。

不過好奇見下靚仔,都可以比OK。

(BTW,我同事話男人個鼻係發財位,面無好痣係大忌,我勸廚師Paul都係去脫左d 癦 佢,可能會更旺財~)

I've been to Paul's Kitchen twice, first on the 2nd day of her soft opening and then on the evening of Friday the 24th . . . simply because I saw improvements since her opening.Within Paul's Kitchen's rather small world, it's not realistic to cater for fine expensive dining, but home-cooking style decent cuisines for all those to love to eat; and indeed the food and presentation were decent enough.There are certainly things to improve, in order of priority . . .(1) The portion, especially the

I've been to Paul's Kitchen twice, first on the 2nd day of her soft opening [on a Tuesday evening when it was empty] and then on the evening of Friday the 24th [when it's packed] . . . simply because I saw improvements since her opening.

Within Paul's Kitchen's rather small world, it's not realistic to cater for fine expensive dining, but home-cooking style decent cuisines [instead] for all those to love to eat; and indeed the food and presentation were decent enough.

There are certainly things to improve, in order of priority . . .
(1) The portion, especially the starter salads, has to be bigger. Seven out of ten complained they're still hungry in the end [despite the generous supply of bread];
(2) The ventilation system needs upgrading;
(3) Corkage should be waived, simply because the wine list is so very weak!

We will certainly give her a third chance.

A group of 4 went to that restaurant for dinner few days ago. We ordered the recommended Steak, Roast Chicken, Pasta, Onion Soup, House-Brand Desserts for sharing. The Steak and Roast Chicken absolutely over done and nothing special. The onion soup can be better, but not as good as they recommend. A group of 4 went to that restaurant for dinner few days ago.

We ordered the recommended Steak, Roast Chicken, Pasta, Onion Soup, House-Brand Desserts for sharing.

The Steak and Roast Chicken absolutely over done and nothing special. The onion soup can be better, but not as good as they recommend. I believe that the House Brand Dessert is NOT Home-Make at all (But they said this is home make).

General speaking, the meal is not satisfied and the service did not up to standard, becoz the staffs are not willing to hear our friendly comments.

I feel sorry for my friend, because this is her birthday and we have over expectation to this little restuarant. The long preparation time is no favour to couple and group too.

I suggest they should put more effort to improve the meals, preparation time, and service to the customers.

I have been Paul's Kitchen for dinner and I will regard it as a DISAPPOINTED restuarant! An ordinary menu serves ordinary food.I ordered a portion of steak which was OVER DONE and their so-called "Onion Soup" was the worst that I ever had ... . taste weird but salty ... Ummm .... their poor service and annoyance disgusted the customers ... I wonder the Comments of Openrice are their ADVERTISEMENTS .... Please be fair to the CUSTOMER!!!! (Finally, I went to 9 X for beef noodle)

我同幾個朋友去呢間餐食Lunch, 一入到去覺得間餐廳好整潔, 對佢都有少少期望, 跟住我地每人order左一個$68 既set lunch, 上得都幾快, 我叫左Onion Soup同埋番茄磨菇意粉。首先我講下個湯先, 我覺得個湯都OK, 唔算差, 但係一定唔會係好好食果隻, 而呢個湯係跟餐包, 個餐包係一d特別都有, 係一個凍同硬左既包, 我係出面用呢個價錢食Lunch, 個包起碼會係暖, 外面會係crispy喇。跟住就到個意粉, 呢個意粉真係強差人意呀, 我食左一半都冇呀, 第一, 個意粉係冇汁既, 勁乾; 第二, 佢上枱亦唔係熱既, 只係暖; 第三, 佢係冇味道架, 意粉係底, 上面只有幾片磨菇同幾粒車利茄, 最後晒少少芝士粉; 我自己用幾蚊買齊d材料之後加d油用水煮唔使15分鐘就整到喇, 使咩去佢到呀。最後到個餐飲, 佢係一杯整好晒既奶茶, 連自己決定落幾多奶都唔得果隻囉。總括而言, 咁既食物同質素收我$75係完全唔可以接受囉。仲有呀, D人話佢個廚好靚仔, 我好想問吓佢地到底有冇見過靚仔囉。
