We went to Somm for our anniversary. Our decision to try Somm was from all of the positive reviews we read from Google and TripAdvisor. We went to Somm for our anniversary. Our decision to try Somm was from all of the positive reviews we read from Google and TripAdvisor. I read all about the personalized service and attention one would get at Somm. We were excited to try a restaurant with such good reviews from the public. Well, we found that to be somewhat misleading. For example, why bother asking about allergies or celebrating any special occasion if the servers have no clue? Where's the "personalized service"? The server was robotic, and his wine recommendations were mediocre at best.

It seems every table had ordered the same dishes. Like our neighbors to the left and the right, we had the French sea urchin toast and Bouchot mussels to start, followed by the Japanese-style pork belly with Hakata cabbage and the sake steamed saba mackerel as the main. The Uni toast was tasty, and the mussels were petite. Unfortunately, many of the mussel shells were unopened and not safe to eat. The pork belly with barbecue sauce was just ordinary, nothing close to the "to die for" compliments from the reviews. The steamed mackerel was a disappointing dish; it was slightly fishier than it should be and was way below expectation.

We expected a fine dining experience when we were being reminded that there's a dress code when we made the reservation, and the online reviews, somewhat misleading, guided our expectations. I understand new trendy restaurants being on the cutting edge of design, but I draw the line when napkins and utensils are stored in a hidden drawer under the table. I would expect that at a Korean BBQ or a Cha Chaan Teng! The kind of prices Somm charges, I'd expect nothing less than Michelin style quality and service, but instead, we experience a "fine" tribute to the Hong Kong-style cafés. Hate having the feelings of regret leaving actually especially it's our special day. ☹️☹️☹️

服务与它的价格完全不成比例,服务员数量完全不够找服员要叫很久。而且桌子上脏了服务员来回几遍都看不到,都要求擦一下也没有回应。餐中碟子满了很久都不换,要一再要求才换。 最后要求打包,一个服务员说要check3然后就再也没有回来过。结帐也很慢,整体服务乱哄哄,毫无秩序。食物也一般般完全不值这个价,菜品单调,从餐前面包到bites 到starter 几道菜里有无数面包,一晚上光吃面包了,分量倒是挺大 但味道毫无特色,而且环境一般,不会再来了

當中記憶最深刻既係香檳𝐎𝐥𝐢𝐯𝐢𝐞𝐫 𝐒𝐢𝐠𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐮𝐫𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐮𝐭 𝐍𝐕,汽泡綿密,花香果香突出,入口清爽。𝐒𝐚𝐤𝐞都唔錯,入口順滑甘甜,但米香唔夠明顯;而紅、白酒都屬於易入口既酒款,不過𝐂𝐨𝐜𝐤𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐥𝐬就一般般,未算有驚喜。

For my farewell brunch with friends, we managed to score a booking here just 10 days in advance. They sometimes have promotional set menus with credit cards, so be sure to check that out 😉 Book early for brunches! We were a party of 6 people. With covid restrictions, they had to separate us to 2 tables with a tall, massive divider in between which made it almost impossible to talk / see each other, so that was a bit annoying I would advise just to come in a smaller group. I would advise just to come in a smaller group. Be sure to arrive before 2:30pm too, that’s their cut off time for last orders. As we arrived late, we were cutting it close but managed to stay and eat until 6pm



The most basic option : SOMMkind of Brunch was HK$ 698 each, which includes 90 minutes free-flow of Sparking Wine, Cocktails, Fresh Juices, Coffee and Tea. 🥂🍸🍹 Although there was only a small drink selection, they were quite tasty

My favorite was their seasonal sake-based cocktail🍶.


We were given a generous portion of Baked goods 🥐🥯🍞, Smoked Salmon, and Cheese 🧀 & Ham platter as starters for sharing. What a beautiful & delicious spread

We also added their signature Aka Uni French Toast (supplement HK$ 238). Tasty yes, but definitely expensive 💰for such a tiny piece!! 😕 I would recommend to just save the Uni at a sushi shop.

For mains, we ordered a Poached Cage (Egg on English muffin with black truffle butter, Hollandaise sauce & ham) , Cheese & Cage (Omelette Katsu Sando) and Scampi with zucchini (supplement HK$298).


Honestly, their mains were just very ordinary.
You can find the same items for half the price in most cafes. Definitely no need to order the Scampi and pay extra for that
They were not bad, but just not worth the supplement. My favorite dish was the Omelette Katsu Sando 🥪

To finish, we had the signature Abinao Chocolate Soufflé with Cacao Sorbet, Basque Cheesecake, Bourbon Vanilla Mille-Feuille & Vanilla ice cream.


The signature chocolate soufflé was extremely rich in dark chocolate, it was too heavy and thick for me. Their basque cheesecake was very different too. I didn’t like any desserts in particular.

To summarize, let’s just say Somm was a little underwhelming.
In terms of the decor, service, food portions and flavors. It was quite expensive 💰 for it was, especially with the supplements of Uni toast and Scampi. Their mains were very basic in general. There are many other & better brunch options!

另一間為了麵包盤及梳乎厘而到訪的餐廳,麵包盤主要是牛角包及酸種麵包,配波地亞無鹽牛油、自家製榛子醬及果醬,完全沒有失望,入口酥脆富牛油香,不過整體有點飽膩;海膽法式多士(+$𝟸𝟹𝟾),用上𝟸𝟶克北海道紫海膽,鹹鮮味香,但沒有太大驚喜,Tᴡᴏ-Bɪᴛᴇ Sɪᴢᴇ性價比不高。頭盤除了麵包,還有三文魚及芝士凍肉拼盤,食完其實已經半飽。

終於到最期待的朱古力梳乎厘,以𝟾𝟻度Vᴀʟʀʜᴏɴᴀ黑朱古力製作,質感軟綿蓬鬆,中間有流心朱古力醬,搭配可可雪芭,朱古力味濃郁,甜中帶苦,配上果仁口感更豐富;法式傳統甜品Mɪʟʟᴇ-Fᴇᴜɪʟʟᴇ, 一切開千層酥餅,聲音清脆利落,忌廉挺身軟滑,加入雲呢拿雪糕,一冷一熱,最後以咖啡完美作結。

簡單d黎講就係本地龍崗雞,
煎香佢加左d法國白蘆筍、薯蓉及鴨肝花雕酒。
我本身expect係半隻雞要自己切,
誰不知已經起左肉,
雞皮脆卜卜,肉嫩滑,
加埋d汁好好味!
sauce反而好濃花雕酒味,
鴨肝不太出,
非常欣賞d sauce,
白蘆筍吸收了菜汁,非常美味!

另一道signature dish。
來自鹿兒島的豬腩肉,
用1日時間慢煮,
令肉吸收了汁的精華,
同時非常鬆軟,又不致於火喉太盛,
令佢變左「煲湯肉」。
椰菜搽左d調味料,
然後慢慢蒸熟,
比起另一碗salad椰菜來的合口味。

Brunch at Somm is an extravagant affair 😍 focusing on this awesome platter for the first post, you get a selection of pastries with butter, nuttle, and jams. Then there's smoked salmon with lemon and fermented red cabbage. The best item is the of course the double chocolate brioche slahs croissant muffin thing hahhahaha it's so crispy, swipe for the video of me cutting into it for some asmr! I prefer flaky pastries so the cross bun wasn't that attractive but the pickled veg with the smoked salmon and the cheeses made up for it. We went for the basic brunch package ($698) with free flow juices, designated cocktails and sparkling wine i think? I went straight for kir royales but I'm a lightweight so didn't make the most out of the free flow. Next time someone can drink my share hehehhehehe

Mains included egg Benedict with slices of truffle on top and a katsu egg sando. It was my first time having the sando despite it being one of the original menu items and the egg was pretty smooth and nice.

Desserts included the famed chocolate souffle that I order EVERY TIME . Still as good as ever and as chocolaty as ever. The banana pancakes was a very pleasant surprise. They were so fluffy and the honey and pecans nuts was the perfect topping for it. We also got a side of vanilla flan on the house but we were already so full we couldn't finish it. We asked if we could bring it home but the staff told us that we couldn't pack away dairy products. First time hearing this reason but oh well

個人覺得整體都唔會太大驚喜,starter水準比較好,其他真係正常發揮。飲品都覺得無特別,最深印象係個西柚汁,完全無糖但就真係好苦😣


餐廳其實細細間,有枱同bar table。服務有加分既,waiter都好細心介紹所以菜式😌

在香港開放餐廳晚市之前去試了SOMMearlydinner這個bargain 是 $538/3course + alcohol,非常優惠。前菜的Foie Gras 非常香滑,配上如牛角包的面包很香口,又很邪惡。Beef tartare with black truffle 有即磨黑松露,黑松露很香濃,牛肉也很新鮮。主菜是Japanese pork belly 。以低溫煮熟再煎過的鹿児島豬肉肉質幼嫩。我在鹿兒島吃過的豬肉都是燒肉跟shabu shabu ,個人覺得配bbq sauce ,sauce有點蓋過了肉味,雖然味道都很好。甜品的Amao Strawberry Sudachi 是甜甜的糖塊包著裏面有士多啤梨。Chocolate soufflé with cacao sorbet Chocolate soufflé 裏面有微溶的朱古力,非常香濃。這裏環境跟服務都是五星級酒店的水準。

主菜是Japanese pork belly 。以低溫煮熟再煎過的鹿児島豬肉肉質幼嫩。
我在鹿兒島吃過的豬肉都是燒肉跟shabu shabu ,
個人覺得配bbq sauce ,sauce有點蓋過了肉味,
雖然味道都很好。

食物方面兩款套餐沒有區別,只有酒類稍有不同,我們選擇了$998+10%的情人節套餐。首先香檳上枱,不酸不甜,很均勻、易入口。全程用餐添了三、四杯,味道相當不錯,waiter很細心適時過來添酒。

整體食材配搭很清新,裙帶菜口感彈牙,青蘋果粒爽口酸甜,惠比壽生蠔口感creamy,有海水味但不重,比較淡口味。放上日本茗荷的碎沙冰,薑味嘗不出,味道像wasabi但不辣。挺有創意的一道前菜,味道還可以。

平時在餐廳見到一定很怕的🤣🤣
但這個是令我印象很深刻的一盤。
我很愛吃芝士,但平日對於「太正宗」的芝士不太接受到,很怕「苦」或「臭」的感覺,但這個真的非常可以!!


圖片左邊的白色軟芝士入口即溶,奶香十足
右手邊的硬芝士,微苦,熏香十足,忍不住一口接一口。旁邊橙色一小粒的是香香甜甜的果乾,用來平衡膩感。真的是太美味了。😍
當然兩款火腿也是高水準的!
一款鹹香油膩,一款淡味但口感十足。

主角到了😍😍😍
超級上鏡超級漂亮,所有相片完全沒用filter,顏色真的很鮮艷!!酥皮都是心形的配合情人節主題,太有心思了吧❤️
Waiter見到我這麼開心還說了句:
「這是我們必須做的!😉😏」好浪漫呀🥰
連心形牛油也是法國直送專程訂的!


朱古力酥皮真的超巨大!酥皮層很多很細緻,非常香脆!朱古力味很香,強烈推介配搭它們自家製的朱古力榛子醬,美味而且很飽肚。

不得不提,他們選用了法國殿堂級號稱”Jam Fairy”的Christine Ferber果醬,米芝蓮三星餐廳御用。據說在2013年,Brat Pitt和Angelina Jolie曾專程乘私人飛機去大批掃Christine Ferber果醬,還建了一個專門放它們家果醬的房間🤣🤣🤣太有趣了!的確,比一般果醬更獨特芳香、不會過甜。

感覺前菜吃了一個世紀,吃了很多麵包已經七分飽,終於到主菜了。
其中最出名就是pork belly。入口即溶、肥瘦均勻、肉質鮮嫩多汁。BBQ醬汁味道反倒像味噌,配上一咬即化的椰菜,口感很出色。

看圖片可能會一頭霧水,其實就是吉列玉子三文治。中間夾了一層芝士,上面放上了木魚碎、紫菜、大阪燒汁、沙律醬,模仿了章魚燒的風味。

窩夫口感很軟,像非常柔軟的蛋糕。🧇
配上紅桑子和士多啤梨,酸酸甜甜。🍓
北海道牛奶雪糕,奶香很出。所有食材很配搭。
本以為不脆的窩夫應該不好吃,但出來效果很細緻!很飽的時候點這個,反而吃得很舒適。

全餐廳最出名的超濃朱古力疏乎厘!🍫
需要15分鐘即時焗製。
面層和中間都有流心黑朱古力醬,少許漿口。
疏乎厘很高身,不是很甜,口感輕盈柔軟,
配上濃郁朱古力雪糕、朱古力脆片。
非常重口味,最好肚餓的時候叫,否則會覺得很膩吃不下。

A very pleasant night 🥂This is the must have item - hamachi Perfect combination!! Very photogenic, uni is good,But I would say it looks better than its taste. It’s Average, I’d suggest you to pick something else on the menu. Dessert is Bomb💣Sooooooo delicious!! Very good pick for chocoholic!! You would definitely love this!!!!
