Ok. This review is based on one 'access granted' visit to the bar. My previous two attempts ended in being turned away due to private functions. But this was early after opening. Once you get past the unfriendly, unwelcoming hosts at entrance (a smile goes a long way) we were escorted to the bar as there were no seats at 6pm on a Saturday. Generally the setup in the bar could be better. A mishmash of dinner tables and low sofas. We selected a couple of cocktails and soon managed to get a table. It was a share, but we had sufficient distance to make it not feel like we were intruding. The cocktails were slow to come, but to be fair they do do a great mojito. The DJ looked as disinterested as you can get. The songs themselves could have been uploaded from a playlist for all the skills that seemed to be being utilised. After 20 minutes were were asked to move again (we weren't warned that the table was booked for a group) and placed opposite a sofa with a couple of newlydeads who were clearly in their honeymoon period. Cue lots of slirping kisses and canoodling which was immensely off-putting. That was our call to depart. I think we paid happy hour prices which was a small bonus in an otherwise forgettable experience. Also noticeable was the pretentious nature of the clientele. It wouldn't surprise me if there was a queue in the ladies for the customers to take their pouty mirror selfies and post to instagram. The blokes weren't much better, either.
