登登登登!!!!呢日係女友生日的大日子, 諗到頭都爆下, 最後就選左呢度做生日飯址選址呢度的原因, 除左因為我地冇食過英國菜外, 今次好讓女友大人味嚐英式美食外,最主要原因希望比到女友驚喜既, 我係九龍人, 女友係新界人, 真係好少會過海去到香港咁遠開飯呢如果去成日經過的地方,已經唔會覺得新意,個人認為唔好去熟口熟面的地方食生日飯, 呢個係基本條件我早一天前已致電訂位8:00pm, 並指明留窗邊位, 希望浪漫之餘又可以睇到樓下食家介紹的特式吊燈, 接線的外藉先生當時也很樂意的答應我的要求開飯當日, 因為我和女友也不熟這邊的路, 在不希望遲到的前提下, 早點出門找了一陣子, 結果還是早到了半小時入座, 可能當晚多人, 安排不到樓上的窗邊位給我們,失望.... 開飯當日, 因為我和女友也不熟這邊的路, 在不希望遲到的前提下, 早點出門找了一
陣子, 結果還是早到了半小時入座, 可能當晚多人, 安排不到樓上的窗邊位給我們,
失望.... (這是第一次)

先點了兩杯飲料, 女友點了Banana Chocalate Smoothies, 朱古力為主, 蕉味淡淡的
不重, 我偷飲了兩口覺得很不錯,

我則點了Leffe Blonde, 麥味幾香, 泡沫不多, 算滑, 太久沒飲兩杯, 這裡來一大杯的,
肚子也感覺幸福起來呢,

我覺得呢個係當晚最好食的, 脆漿岩岩好, 唔厚,魚肉嫩滑, 外脆內軟就係咁解!
沾上自製的他他汁, 一口咬落去, 你就會知道咩叫做美食!

薯條粗身, 應係用現成薯仔切條炸, 好味丫! 炸魚同薯條都係金黃色岩岩好, 冇炸
燶, 薄荷豆做配菜, 整整齊齊的, 除了加添味道外, 亦添加一點顏色, 好到冇得挑剔

兩款甜品的份量都不多, 布甸實淨, 都係第一次食咁得意的布甸, 麵包布甸配鮮忌廉, 吃兩口已覺得好「漏」,
已吃飽的我們, 很難再吃下去......至於乾棗黃糖拖肥布甸就有點驚喜, 可能是棗味消減了拖肥的甜味, 食落去
都唔漏, 又有咬口, 很好的甜品

有件事不得不提的, 其實我早日訂位時, 特別詢問接線的外藉男士, 拖肥布甸是否可以
加上蠟燭, 我希望給女友驚喜, 以慶祝生日, 當時他很樂意的答應外, 還很貼心的問我
是否需要添加慶祝字句, 我很多謝他的提醒, 但不幸地, 第二次的失望就是這個甜品了......

甜品時, 先前說好的都沒有準備, 當時我的心就往下沉......
女友還問我為甚麼這個沒精打采的咀臉,
我還只是隨口答沒甚麼.... 想一下, 可能是自己早到了, 所以沒有為我準備? 如是, 自己就不能硬著面去
要求甚麼啦, 今日是開心的日子啊, 就算了吧.....這樣的想......沒多久, 先前接線的外藉店員就捧著個加大
碼的Pudding出來
, 放到女友的面前, 道歉並解釋說當晚太忙了, 所以員工做漏了, 還不斷的說我的好話

, 令女友也笑了
,我的失望也一掃而空, 在這裡再次多謝他的幫忙和親切的款待
, 令我和女友吃過
快樂的晚餐, 向好的想, 除了給女友驚喜, 他也給了我驚喜, 對吧?

9月20日(星期一)晚,從女皇口中說想去袋鼠國“工作假期”已經有一年多了,甚至女友另外一位朋友帶埋老公(仲要係有份正職)“無聲無色”地過到袋鼠國切實的“工作假期”,依然未見女皇有任何行動,還是得個“講”字,近月女皇終於落實的執行這個大計,鐵定於這個月尾過去袋鼠國。因為和女皇始終也是相識一場,而且是女友的好朋友,基於禮貌或甚麼也好,所以就相約女皇於是晚吃一頓踐行飯。原先女友已選定了吃晚飯的地方,去到才知餐廳還未營業,惟有另覓地方,不過因天雨關係不宜再四處尋覓,沿著士丹頓街行,在漆黑的冷雨夜見到外牆全紅的這店,也不作細想就進入餐廳內。因為正值打風期間,人客不多,在前身是Soho 8 的地方可以隨意選擇座位,但好客友善的外籍經理主動邀請我們到已改裝的舊鋪內的卡座坐。可能我和女友較少吃英國菜,雖然餐牌雖小,但已經給予我們不少選擇,最後我們三人共點了Pan Fried Salmon- Prwan Cake with Dill、Cottage Pie和Yorkshire Pudding with Assorted Grilled Sausage,而且正值Happy Hour時段,部份酒精飲品買一送

Pan Fried Salmon- Prwan Cake with Dill:說是“Pan Fried ”但怎樣看也不似“煎”,應該是炸,還要炸得不夠金黃,幸好內裡還算軟滑,蝦肉的鮮味稍勝三文魚,還配合味道獨特的香料Dill,十分美味。原來「Dill」是一種香料,中文譯名是叫做「蒔蘿」;

Cottage Pie:這個“農舍批”也沒有一點花巧,面層的酥皮焗得鬆化,內裡是肉味濃郁香甜的免治牛肉,伴碟的還有用煙肉碎炒過的翠肉瓜和炸得香脆金黃的薯條,味道實而不華,祇能說句:「簡單就是美」;

Yorkshire Pudding with Assorted Grilled Sausage:其實是有四種Sausage給客人選擇,女友就選了Cheddar Cheese,芝士味和腸你肉味同樣不濃,但混合了卻成了另有一種味道,以致初時我還吃不出是甚麼味道和感覺不到Cheddar Cheese的存在,不過口感很幼滑;Yorkshire Pudding 焗得不錯,好像是帶有雞蛋及牛油味卻被肉汁浸淋了的泡芙,入口軟綿;

雖然祇點了三種食物,但吃完所有食物,我們已經開始覺得有點飽,又差不多到了甜魔時間了!

Homemade Kiwi Pavlova with Creme Chantilly & Mixed Berries:Pavlova是用蛋白及糖打起焗成的奶油蛋白甜餅,這裡在甜餅外面配上大量忌廉,還有不少的奇異果和Mixed Berries;雖然用匙羹分開甜餅時感到頗硬,但入口幾乎即溶且非常鬆脆,味道亦不是太甜,女皇頗喜愛;

Apple Crumble:外層焗得香脆鬆化,但內裡的蘋果粒不夠軟腍,而且味道亦很淡,連不吃生果的我也覺得很失色,不過我亦忘記看原來這個蘋果批有藍梅粒,結果要女友替我“包底”;

無論如何,在此祝願女皇一路順風,日後凡事順順利利,平平安安!

Food was nice, service was great! Unfortunately, the people at the table next to us, were SO freakin loud in their talking and laughing. It ruined the atmosphere of the evening....One other minus point for the Yorkshire Pudding is: it would have been nice to have some background music on the 1st floor.But as for the food: great! not too heavey, just enough to fill an empty stomach, Good taste and most importantly: they give a lot of veggies with the main course!

After hearing good things about this place, I decided to come here on a Saturday morning and try the full English breakfast. The breakfast came with four large slices of toast, side order of fruit, one sausage and two small pieces of bacon. I was very disappointed as the toast took up half the space and it was obviously a ruse to fill the plate.
While the food was well cooked and edible, the bill came to over $140 and was simply not good value.
Given that Globe is only down the road, serves much larger portions and is slightly cheaper, I'll be transferring my allegiance back to them.

It must be a fantastic chance to have British cuisine that I have been longing for. Today, after finished searching some information of this restaurant, I then made my decision to have a try of British food.
Though going here from MTR station took me more than fifteen minutes, it's still worth visiting as the surroundings were very densed yet relaxing. Behind this British restaurant with a London Underground style design for its facade, there were many restaurants and pubs which were operated by the same group. So I got a seat and order a Mixed Green Salad for my starter and a Bangers and Mashed dish for the main course. At first, Yorkshire pudding and salad were provided. The first one was quite unusual, I mean it's shape. The pudding kind of liked a pastry that we usually eat but I just regarded it as a British food. They both tasted perfect though the sausages of the main one seemed quite greasy. Then, it came with a dessert. A tiny, triangular shape pudding was placed on the table, so I could not wait to try. I thought the pattern was very neat and well-organized and looked like a sculpture, and tasted like a chocolate pudding. Actually it was called Sticky Toffee Pudding with brown sugar sauce topped in it.
Paying $98+10% for enjoying the British style design and having such delicacies must be an enjoyment that I have never tried before, so I should have gained an experience.

What I find annoying is that a previous review had, in my opinion, been written by the owners or their friends. You will notice they are gushing about every aspect and mention about every dish on the menu with perfect professional style photos! It's all a bit too obvious for me.I had dinner with a female colleague, ordered toad in the hole for her and yorkshire pudding with sausages for me. The meal was quick to appear and delicious however trying to get a waiters attention was hard, no salt

The meal was quick to appear and delicious however trying to get a waiters attention was hard, no salt on the table and after we finished our dish we were not offered dessert! We waited for the menu to come back but no one approached our table. I wanted to try the desserts and have a coffee but no one came over to us. We left. Bill was $1060 for one dish each, bottle of wine and two extra glasses and 2 bottles of mineral water. Disappointing overall.

They were under renovation last week( I guess they are getting so popular that they have taken the next door shop as well, it's quite hard to get a table over the weekends) and my craving for my Fish n Chip is getting worse. And finally last night on the 9th Jun Wednesday night, they were back on with an expanded dining area!
I waited no further and ran straight to the restaurant after work just to feel british sitting at their bar area while waiting for my friends. They now have a 'Far East Corner' on their menu carrying some Asian dishes.
Friends were running late, so i was watching staff running the British classics like Roast Beef, Steak n Kidney Pie, Banger and Mash and i was almost drooling when i saw the Mini Yorkshire Pudding. From what i know , i think Yorkshire Pudding is the only British restaurant in HK who make their Yorkshire Pudding fresh.
Dinner was superb! The all-time favourite Fish n Chips is as good as ever. The batter was perfect and the fish is fresh, the bonus is their herb-flavoured green peas.
The Chicken Tikka Masala is the national dish in the UK, like Jamie Oliver said. And they do it well,very authentic and flavourable and the portion is just perfectly right!
CheeseBurger is the other highlight, juicy beef patty grilled to perfection with melted cheddar, the best in town.
Sticky Toffee Pudding, the irresisstable good old pudding- one that i can never say no to, even though i was torn between the choice of bread n butter pudding or toffee pudding in the beginning.
Service was excellent, staff was very attentive and smiley.
My craving was finally cured at the end of the night, a tribute to the lovely Chef, Jeffrey LeBon. (He came to greet our table and make sure that we were having a good time enjoying his food) Yes we did!

Why give openrice members 20% discount coupon until May 31 if you close your establishment for renovations starting 30th? Isn't it cheating? Can't you honour all your commitments before halting business? Called on 29th to book for lunch on 31st with 3 ex-colleagues. Was looking forward to meeting them and eating there. So disappointed that I have to think twice about trying to book again.

5月對老友來講是超興奮的一個月份,因她的鍾愛的五月天來港開演唱會;我也來為她加一樣歡喜事,就是一同拜訪久候的Yorkshire Pudding! 雖然沒有尋問著迷原因,但我想那觸目的紅、英式典雅的氣氛,會是因素之一。  當晚交通暢順,七點半未夠我已由深圳來到中環,抵達二樓雅座時,頗為寧靜少人的環境感意外。雖然影相效果難免較差,但那在幽暗富情調氣氛下,安住舒適大沙發,感覺是很好的。其中一位友人已柯打了Choc banana smoothie($48),份量相當的大,老實不客氣飲了一口,蕉味濃重,午餐吃滯了的我還是試完就算,將有限的胃納投放更吸引的美食: Deep Fried Mushrooms Served with Garlic Aioli($58)-六粒中型蘑菇掃上輕薄一層粉漿,炸至外層脆卜卜卻不油,中間又充滿菇汁,炸功令人欣賞;不過重點是配上含蒜粒的沙律醬,令味道更香口豐富,好吃! 不過為了留肚,我只吃了一粒,然後轉攻碟邊的沙律菜,也頗為新鮮。很值得一吃的開胃小食! 雖然沒有尋問著迷原因,但我想那觸目的紅、英式典雅的氣氛,會是因素之一。
  
當晚交通暢順,七點半未夠我已由深圳來到中環,抵達二樓雅座時,頗為寧靜少人的環境感意外。雖然影相效果難免較差,但那在幽暗富情調氣氛下,安住舒適大沙發,感覺是很好的。其中一位友人已柯打了
Choc banana smoothie($48),份量相當的大,老實不客氣飲了一口,蕉味濃重,午餐吃滯了的我還是試完就算,將有限的胃納投放更吸引的美食:
 
Deep Fried Mushrooms Served with Garlic Aioli($58)-六粒中型蘑菇掃上輕薄一層粉漿,炸至外層脆卜卜卻不油,中間又充滿菇汁,炸功令人欣賞;不過重點是配上含蒜粒的沙律醬,令味道更香口豐富,好吃! 不過為了留肚,我只吃了一粒,然後轉攻碟邊的沙律菜,也頗為新鮮。很值得一吃的開胃小食!
 
Yorkshire Pudding's with Irish Beef Stew($160)-幾年前在Lawry's首遇Yorkshire Pudding,淨食感覺是未見出色及油膩,是晚pudding變身成牛肉墊,吸收了大量充滿牛香的濃郁醬汁,變得柔軟濕潤;再加上粒粒煮至軟稔的薏米粒,口感更為豐富及美味,一改我對此物的印象,果然是招牌貨! 也要講講燉牛肉,鬆化柔嫩且帶濃濃牛味,好吃;另外伴碟還有ok滑的薯蓉,以及雜菜,整個菜式夠平衡也美味,令人滿意。
 
Apple & Mixed Berries Crumble($68+$10)-來這裡主要是完老友心願,不過一到點菜少不免受我甜胃口影響,咸食只試了兩款,甜品卻要了三個,真不好意思呀!
講回正題,這個熱賣的蘋果雜莓金寶,焗的火候不錯,外層很脆又香口,中間熱暖的餡芯也不差,配上冰凍香甜的雲尼拿雪糕(+$10),冷熱衝突下頗為美味。然而另一兜伴吃的吉士醬帶有輕微薄荷味,怪怪的,拉低了分數。
 
Sticky Toffee Pudding($68)-是磚充滿拖肥醬、質感頗為實淨,富有彈性及咬口的紅棗布甸,其香甜口味與實在質感頗得人心,再者布甸中芯非常熱暖,一叉開熱煙渺渺,令我忍不住筆了crumble的雪糕來伴吃,果然美味,比crumble更有吃頭! 推介大家落單時加配一球雲尼拿雪糕,絕對美味加分~~

 
Sherry Trifle($68)-兩月前與老友於blue goose與這款甜品之交之失臂,是晚又怎可再放過它? 原來這是一款由輕忌廉、sherry甜酒、蛋白餅及海綿蛋糕組成的杯裝甜品,層次豐富令人垂涎,不過吃來酒味頗濃,有蛋白餅的部份又極甜,味道頗有個性是不是人人吃得慣的,我個人也只是一般喜歡,老友卻十分欣賞,就交她清碟吧~~
 
整體而言是滿足的一頓,用上Openrice的8折優惠劵後更加抵食;而在埋單之時,樓上除我們也只得另一張檯,可想而知是多麼的寫意舒服。之後去一趟樓上洗手間(很少有,也是令人很窩心的安排
),貪心的我又再想甜品下場了!

先上的是頭盤Deep Fried Mushrooms Served with Garlic Aioli ($58)。6件的炸蘑菇配以Garlic Aioli 和新鮮的沙律新鮮上枱,熱辣非常,最難得的是一口咬下的感覺居然是非常的juicy,很多的汁液被鎖在蘑菇內,外脆內軟,充滿驚喜。

接著上的便是Yorkshire Pudding's with Irish Beef Stew ($160)。充滿醬汁的Beef Stew鋪在Pudding上,隔壁伴隨著的是一大堆薯蓉和伴菜,心中不禁慶幸只叫了一頭盤一主菜,否則鐵定會浪費掉的。先試了一口紅蘿蔔,嗯,味道還不錯,再試一口牛肉,不算非常鬆化,但還可以接受,醬汁有著濃濃牛肉味,配以布丁或是薯蓉絕對是perfect match,而薯蓉隔壁的薏仁則令薯蓉的口感豐富起來,滑溜中有著一點點的咬口,又是一令人驚喜之作。

食罷鹹食,便是甜品的天下了。3款甜品同一時間上場著實令人震撼!

甫一上場便令人驚艷的是Apple & Mixed Berries Crumble with Additional Ice Cream ($68+$10),大大碟的crumble上有一球額外加的呍呢嗱雪糕,另外再配上一大酌的吉士醬,等照相機的鎂光燈一熄,便迫不及待的拿起匙羹大快朵頤。可惜的是原來盛著crumble的盤子極淺,而吉士醬又有著一種類似薄荷的味道,味道不夾,而crumble本身亦只屬一般,淺嘗兩口後便決定轉戰另一戰場。

第二樣品嘗的是Sticky Toffee Pudding。指她是布丁,但是看其賣相更像朱古力蛋糕。布丁本身的賣相不算討好,而且予人很厚實、黏牙、冷冰冰和超級甜的感覺,不過一切原來都只是假象。首先,當匙羹輕輕把布丁切開的時候便有陣陣的熱煙從切口冒出,不禁“嘩”的一聲輕呼出口,在驚訝完其的熱氣騰騰,便細細的嘗了一口,沒想像中的黏牙和超級甜的感覺,取而代之的是一種暖暖的、有點厚實和濕潤的口感,而且甜度適中,絕對是上乘之作。嘗完兩口,更不禁問友人布丁的內涵是什麼來的?得到的答案是紅棗。突然間對這種平時不甚留意的乾果心生歡喜之心,並暗暗希望下次有機會可以試多幾種不同的紅棗甜品

但是想不到帶來最大驚喜的卻是最後一款Sherry Trifle($68)。Trifle本身是用一隻透明的玻璃水杯上枱,面層是一大片的白色而底層則為黃色,比起crumble和pudding是殊不吸引,但卻是內藏乾坤。看著她白色大大的一層原以為是忌廉或吉士之流,但第一羹舀起的竟是一大塊白色的物體,經友人指點原來是蛋白餅。伴隨著有點酒香的汁液放到口中,酒香味源源不斷的散出,中和了蛋白餅的甜度,非常美味。然後再舀起下面幾層,發現中間的是一些雜莓而底層則是類似海綿蛋糕,濕濕的,充盈著豐富的酒香味和甜味,說真的是非常對我胃口。於是在兩位友人都大呻“太甜”的情況下我只有勉為其難、獨力單挑起清碟的大責了。(笑)

總括來說,布丁丁的甜品居然比鹹食出色許多是始料未及的,但是夜的服務令人滿意,環境清靜,再加上openrice的八折coupon,絕對是一次令人滿意的美食之旅。

It was still quite new and not many people know about this place

I craved pies and traditional fish and chips for so long.
Missed my English food so much.
So asked a friend who is also from London to try.
So three of us went there on friday night dinner after a few drinks in LKF.
Had a booking at half 8. Was really packed.
Was led to upstairs.
It was definately very crowdy and not spacious at all. We even had to share a little table between us as the booking was for two of us until one more decided to join

The menu wasnt much to choose from, BUT I wanted to order every possible thing on menu.
There were pies to roast dinner to fish and chips.
I ordered the sausage and mash with gravy so did a friend
My other friend ordered the Roast beef with Yorkshire pudding

Food came quite fast as we enjoyed our drinks.
the presentation looks good.
In a nice big warm plate.
It really reminded me of eating in a pub in London.
The mash was very nice, can smell the buttery taste.
I did not like the sausage though. Could be better.

My friend said the beef was okay standard, have tasted much better.
The yorkshire pudding was great. Some bake them til they are all dried and burnt
This one was up to standard

Overall, it was pricey but that is the sort of price you pay for roast in UK.
But in HK, it is over priced,
I wouldn't say the meal was delicious that would mak me visit again.
one time is enough. But if anyone like me who misses the Pub food in HK.
Then this is the place. Cant find more authentic than this place, well... in HK that is.

因為一班在外國相識的朋友回來香港, 大家便相約一起到YORKSHIRE PUDDING 聚聚見香港開左間專食英式PUDDING店, 仲要店舖外面個裝修都幾靚, 所以都滿懷期望咁去食~叫左幾個PUDDING, 一個STEAK..steak-- 口感一食就知道落左好多鬆肉粉, 同埋d gravy 好結, 有d半硬o既口感and it's too salty.pudding-- 招牌菜yorkshire pudding, 等左二十分鐘終於都黎啦~d 薯條熱o既, 但係好林, 係唔係番熱整出黎比人食?pudding 分量好少, 實在同o係外國食無得比... 港式外國餐如果真係要模仿外國, 除左價錢同外國差唔多咁貴, 第一樣野分量都要跟佢一樣咁多先得。pudding 口感ok, 味道真係唔ok我地成檯人都覺得貴夾唔好食。當然間餐廳個氣份ok, 我地坐上層我五張檯, 多數都係外國人下面就係多數都飲野o既~如果想嘗試好味又正宗的english pudding, 這裡港式外國餐不適合你了。

pudding-- 招牌菜yorkshire pudding, 等左二十分鐘終於都黎啦~
d 薯條熱o既, 但係好林, 係唔係番熱整出黎比人食?
pudding 分量好少, 實在同o係外國食無得比... 港式外國餐如果真係要模仿外國, 除左價錢同外國差唔多咁貴, 第一樣野分量都要跟佢一樣咁多先得。pudding 口感ok, 味道真係唔ok

我地成檯人都覺得貴夾唔好食。

當然間餐廳個氣份ok, 我地坐上層我五張檯, 多數都係外國人
下面就係多數都飲野o既~

如果想嘗試好味又正宗的english pudding, 這裡港式外國餐不適合你了。

英國留學生時代, 都會食過的英國普通菜色我們食得便宜, 只好成日fish & chips or yorkshire pudding (微波爐板本)返香港幾年, 偶然看到這一間... 決定懷舊一下由於下午食得好飽, 晚上的不是太餓所以只叫了三道菜第一 : 沙律 (我鍾意佢有black pepper)第二: yorkshire pudding with irish beef第三: apple crumble主菜pudding做得幾好 , 但gravy唔夠多牛就韌 了一點potato mash最好食apple crumble好正, 唔太好生果的人就唔好試了**加了一杯red wine, 其實只想飲水, 但waitress一開始無比我地.....以為無水, 見到其他人叫先知布, 真可惡

Salmon & Prawn Cake With Creamy Splnach----炸得香脆入口不覺油膩,雖只吃到有三文魚吃不出有蝦肉,幸質感頗滑,伴碟做得很好!濃滑的忌廉與煮得剛剛熟的菠菜混在一起,滑得來帶點纖維,是炸物的好配搭.
Steamed Mussels----青口加點洋葱、羅勒及白酒煮至僅熟,肉質鮮甜軟滑!
Roast Beef----烤至接近Well Done的牛肉,有濃濃的肉味仍保持得到肉質嫩滑,入口不覺粗嚡!實非常難得.
Fish & Chips----與上次吃到的水準一樣!魚塊沒有腥味,外脆內嫩!粗薯條是一貫的高水準.
Shepherd's Pie----免冶羊肉加雜菜豆煮成肉醬放在容器內,面層鋪上薯蓉再用焗爐焗至金黃,面層的薯蓉幼滑帶點牛奶味,肉裡肉醬帶點羶味,如果用來撈飯會好開心!
Yorkshire pudding with Sausage----Cheddar Cheese始終是心頭愛!
