用餐日期...已忘了...那天中午, 由九龍灣飄到中環, 去吃lunch也 ~記得上次來這裡, 吃過煎得脆香的魚皮 ~今次, 令我留下印象的, 是出色的豆湯!

It was so nice ambience 's restaurant. We had the " Country pate" and " Lamb Ravioli" to start. The lamb ravioli was pretty good. And the country pates' prensentation was so nice too. The waiter made a nice recommendation for me to order " Roasted Chicken" which was cooked to a perfect tenderness . And my friend picked a " Crispy Pork", it was so juicy!!!! Finally, we were oredered the " Chocolate and Banana Cake" for finished to oreder dinner. How can we define this restaurant? - it was Great F

Went Zest last night together with a friend of mine, the dinner was so good and people there were so nice; it surely highlighted my week despite it was only a MONDAY dinner~Ordered Ricotta soufflé and Confit duck salad as starters. Went Zest last night together with a friend of mine, the dinner was so good and people there were so nice; it surely highlighted my week despite it was only a MONDAY dinner~

Ordered Ricotta soufflé and Confit duck salad as starters. The soufflé was so nicely made that I could not only taste the skill, but also the heart of the chef!!! Sounds crazy, but I mean it!

The waitress made a nice recommendation for me to order the Roasted cod fish while my friend picked the Roasted chicken. I love the fish very much cos it’s very juicy and it didn’t carry any offensive smell at all. My friend (who tends to be picky) appreciated the tenderness of the roasted chicken too! After all it’s a birthday celebration dinner for my friend and I am glad that this picky guy say YES finally~

Both of us did not finish the main course despite the deliciousness. This was because we were so greedy in ordering the Lemon Parfait dessert which made a perfect end to our dinner.

Will definitely recommend this restaurant which is of reasonable price, nice ambience and friendly staff who make good dish recommendation!!

這家餐廳我來過三次, 一直有好印象. 吃飯有時為填肚, 此為量的滿足, 但不一定會帶來味覺上的享受, 所以會產生肚飽但依然感到有點 "餓" 的感覺.在我去過的同類型和價錢的餐廳來說, zest 可算是最能滿足味覺的一間. 吃的時候, 會有幸福的感覺~~上星期和朋友二人吃個set lunch. 我點的是:意式蕃茄芝士沙律 - 太好吃了, 尤其我愛蕃茄, 加上意大利黑醋沙律汁和可口的mozzarella, 太合我的胃口了. 燒豬腩肉 - 平時很少吃肥豬肉的我 (因怕豬臭味) 今次完全吃不到豬味, 皮烤得很香, 加上肥油, 吃完一定肥但很美味香滑的一道菜.另點了chocolate tart, 非常香濃, 無可挑剔.註: 餐廳雖不大但有兩層. 樓下較開揚卻好像有點擠. 個人喜歡坐樓上, 好像感覺比較靜.

意式蕃茄芝士沙律 - 太好吃了, 尤其我愛蕃茄, 加上意大利黑醋沙律汁和可口的mozzarella, 太合我的胃口了.


燒豬腩肉 - 平時很少吃肥豬肉的我 (因怕豬臭味) 今次完全吃不到豬味, 皮烤得很香, 加上肥油, 吃完一定肥但很美味香滑的一道菜.

另點了chocolate tart, 非常香濃, 無可挑剔.

註: 餐廳雖不大但有兩層. 樓下較開揚卻好像有點擠. 個人喜歡坐樓上, 好像感覺比較靜.

Went to Zest when it first opened and thought the food was just ok and didn't understand why it received a 5 star rating from HK magazine... It's been a while since I've been back and this time I see why it got such a high review. We had the mackerel, the prawn and salmon ravioli and the procuitto wrapped pate to start. The mackerel was pretty good even for me who doesn't normally eat it. It had a nice pickled sour taste. I liked the pate the best out of the three though. The ravioli was unmemorable...

For main, I had the slowly poached salmon which was cooked to a perfect temperature. The fish looked raw but was cooked through and still retained its moisture. My husband had the beef rib which was very rich and tasty.

It was a nice dinner overall!

到這兒吃個business lunch,地點對方選,要了三道菜午餐,埋單才$260。先來法式麵包,好香脆。湯/沙律,選了「鮭魚慕絲配吐司沙律」,對方選了「青豆湯」,兩者都功夫野。我們主菜都選了「烤黑鱸魚配烤薯沙律」,味道係超好。甜點係「法式蘋果撻配香草雪糕」,亦係手工野,好香脆。飲品選了熱咖啡,味道尚可,配甜點吃就欠些少。就business lunch 而言,沒什麼好挑剔,服務亦好好,最喜歡餐廳用餐巾而非餐紙巾!

The entree was very delicious, but it's not a very big portion and I believe the restaurant is overpriced. If you want a full course with appetizer and dessert with a drink, don't expect to leave without at least 500 bucks exclucing service charges, etc. You expect a 95 bucks appetizer, but what s offered on its list are quite constrained to vergetable related dishes. I decided to try Zest because HK Magazine gave it a very good rating. The menu has a fair number of dishes that appeal - in this sense, it succeeded in the first step. however, step 2, execution, did not meet expectations. either the plates were too small or the ingredients were too busy. the dessert of roasted tomato and mascarpone tart was a nice combination as it served both the function of after-dinner cheese + dessert. they used local (china?) cherry tomatoes, and could have done better (like dutch cherry tomatoes) since the tomato is the focus of this dish.

ok but nothing to wow.

在這裡,先向當晚的兩位當事人講句:不好意思!要知道,雨過天晴後,情侶間會更加親密是個不爭的事實~  不用上堂的週一,一行四人到了SOHO覓食,推動力之一是抵食的241 dinner優惠。其實我超想吃Refectory,可惜結業了;有些東西,真要把握時機呢!不過來到Zest,環境又好,我又開心返了~ 點了一盤沙律及四款主菜,食物平均水準不俗,每款皆有特色: Milawa blue cheese and fig salad with wild rocket, candiced walnuts, sweet dressing($115)-無花果葉味道很濃烈,我有點不慣;不過仍然要讚這個沙律的醬汁做得不錯,尤其是加入合桃,增加不少香味與口感~ Slow cooked veal shank with parmesan polenta and gremolata($215)-牛膝的肉質超嫩滑,水準很高,令人一吃難忘;配菜的玉米飯碎混和芝士及香料,味道也十分突出! Slow cooked veal shank with parmesan polenta and gremolata($215)-牛膝的肉質超嫩滑,水準很高,令人一吃難忘;配菜的玉米飯碎混和芝士及香料,味道也十分突出!
 
Tomato dakkah crusted fresh fish on preserved lemon cous-cous harisa with herbed lemon butter sauce($215)-是時令澳洲菜式,其烹調方法令我神往,不過原來成品是偏香脆而非嫩滑,未如預期美味~
 
Crispy roast chicken with bacon, celery and onion stuffing, sauce soubise($185)-烤雞是幾款主菜中最失色的一味,不過其配菜風味甚佳,又贏回不少分數!
 
Ox-tail and shitake mushroom lasagna with rocket puree($175)-加入大量牛肉片的千層麵,質感變得較硬,不過我個人都幾愛吃!
 
食物不錯,不過我覺得waitress因我們用coupon而面黑,服務方面一定要扣分。
 
沒關係,有龍與好友在身邊,我心情大好。給個笑臉,並期望來日更多的SOHO晚餐聚!

又好一陣子沒有搞過「Lunch」系列,適逢MM在港,都要約番一餐。就趁kkk兄提議來這裡,就4+3的來個「小姐/Ma Luck X-over」,一行七人的來這裡吃午飯。這裡是以前匈牙利菜的舊舖位,上層明顯比下層環境好,坐在八人長檯,相當舒適。午餐頭盤有兩個選擇,主菜則有三個選擇,當然要是要試齊全部。頭盤二選一,是湯及烤魷魚沙律,要了後者。魷魚是真的略烤過,有香味,因為新鮮,所以雖然粗身,但都有爽脆的口感,吃落亦鮮甜,不錯。配上的是簡簡單單的火箭菜,微微的胡椒味又有清新的口感,忽然想起一位吃火箭菜看電視的朋友,應該會幾喜歡這味菜的;另一個頭盤盛在一個大圓碟中,賣相也相當好。三款主菜,分別是羊奶芝士雞卷、煎鱸魚及烤吞拿魚。個人而言,最喜歡的是羊奶芝士雞卷,雞肉嫩滑,加上軟滑又帶羊臊味的羊奶芝士,是一個幾特別的配搭,味道方面,也很夾檔,我喜歡吃羊肉,其實更喜歡吃羊奶芝士,那股濃郁又獨得的臊味,加上芝士的口感,很有個性;煎鱸魚也很有水準,魚皮煎得香脆之餘,吃落也有魚油的香味。魚肉嫩滑,一點不腥,伴碟的是紅酒牛尾汁,魚配牛,未試過,吃落也都幾特別;烤吞拿魚算是比較平凡的一味,略烤的表面,還保留了

甜品是「小姐Lunch」的重要原素之一,是日有兩款,分別是云呢拿奶凍及麵包布丁,各來兩客。本想先走,但見兩款甜品賣相極之對辦,又吃完至走。云呢拿奶凍見一粒粒的云呢拿籽,淋上士多啤梨醬,軟滑又不太甜;麵包布丁是一貫的平平無奇,突圍而出的是伴碟的那個云呢拿雲糕球,云呢拿籽香,加上香甜軟滑的雪糕,手慢一點,已經售罄。

埋單百二蚊,坐得舒適,食物都有水準,可以一試。

慢食主導,先來一個Platter,有fresh basked muffin、warm fruit compote with cinnamon mascarpone 同muesli with yoghurt:各有各新鮮,也各自各精彩- 罕有的清碟(當然有D 因為懶健康,又有D 因為份量少得剛好)。主菜是Welsh rarebit with oven dried tomatoes and bacon (Classic cheese melt, grilled, on toast):除了塊排包味、排包質地的多士太薄太弱之外,整個combination 不錯:香草芝士烤過後,芝味不失,滋味不失- 食落又融又cheesy,薄薄的蜜糖麵包多士脆脆的…好想吃精光,但實在太漏,半途而廢。最舒服的一餐。

五位朋友陸續來到, 每人都點了一杯drink, 平均$60一杯,0係呢區係0甘上下. 其中有一位朋友只係想要杯水, 唔知係咪個waitress嫌我地唔叫足六杯drink, 杯水在三催四請下先至0黎...

食物方面, 可能zest以飲0野為主, menu既選擇唔算多, 例如湯得soup of the day 一款, pasta得四款, main dish有7-8款. 我地六個人share食, 叫左: 一人一個soup of the day, 一個salad,一個spaghetti, 一個risotto, 三個main dish, 兩個side dish, 同埋三款dessert (我地事前要求餐廳送一個complimentary dessert俾生日朋友仔). 食物總體來講, 味道唔錯, 份量偏小, 如果share而要食得飽, 最多只可三個人share一款.

最失望係service, 因為我地坐果層只有一個waitress長駐, 唔知悉咪太忙, 成晚黑面...我地take order時由湯/salad 開始, 佢竟然話"唔得, 要由main course 講起" (!?). 上菜超慢, 好似要serve完一先一, 輪到我地既時候, 就一次過上晒所有食物, 我諗呢個實在唔應該0係一間正式(非港式)既餐廳出現, 除非客人request 啦...最後order 甜品既時候, 明明menu上寫gelato 係$60 三球, 個waitress竟然話係一球, 要我"隊"個menu俾佢睇, 佢先話係三球. 問佢有咩味道, 佢又係唔想答, 跟住講左個外星字, 我同朋友多番追問下, 先知道原來佢指既係咖啡味, 佢仲要覺得我地好似唔識英文0甘反晒眼...

我地total食左$2700左右.我諗係soho/LKF區以這個價錢,有大把同類型既餐廳, 如果係食晚飯,我唔會推薦呢間囉.
