My friend and I went to this restaurant for our dinner on a holiday night. Due to the fact that we found there were lots of likes reviewers have given to this restaurant, we had high expectations entering the restaurant with empty stomache. My friend and I went to this restaurant for our dinner on a holiday night. Due to the fact that we found there were lots of likes reviewers have given to this restaurant, we had high expectations entering the restaurant with empty stomache. However, both our stomaches were filled with mediocre food and disappointment.

As the lift opened, the restaurant was filling up quickly since it was almost 7:00pm, but we managed to snag a table. We ordered the set including the "famous" beef cutlet and the chicken/beef udon in curry cream sauce, as well as a beef tenderion with rice. The drinks we had were Rose Garden and cokes.

As for the kobekyu katsu, the appetizers were acceptable and the rice was cooked beautifully. Nevertheless, the highlight of the dish, the beef cutlet, was a bit disappointing. Surprisingly, the beef cutlet tasted quite bland compared to the other food we had that night. Though it was fun to heat the beef cutlet by ourselves with the little hot plate on our table, this kind of culinery autonomy was not able to add any flavours to the beef cutlet. Worse still, since the outer protein of the beef was fried, the beef cutlet was quite chewy after being heated on the hot plate. Chewy outside, just cooked and bland inside. The taste of beef faded away when it was made in cutlet.

The creamy curry udon was amazing with its look. A bowl covered with lots of white cream and you would not believe that it was a curry dish at first sight. However, all that glitters is not gold. Once we mixed the cream with the curry and tried the udon, what we had on our faces were frowns, not smiles. The udon was definitely not nasty as it may seem to be, nor was it as enticing as it looked.

Being the "supporting role" of the dinner, the beef tenderloin with rice was the best dish we had that night. Though the tenderloin was cooked moderately, the rice was seasoned perfectly and it was so luscious that my friend and I both felt saved by its great texture and most importantly, its tasteful flavour.

The Rose Garden drink was above satisfaction, though there was too much ice in that small drink.

The decor of the place was fine but the tables were too close to each other. The diners next to our table were so loud that my friend and I could barely hear each other.

All in all, if you want a great dining photo for your social networking and to look like a fine dining connoiseur, here is one of the places you should visit and take a good picture for your instagram (around us were groups of young diners taking numerous selfies). But if you want to have great food, just press the ground floor button of the lift and leave the building.
