She's just around the corner:
This is apparently one of the oldest snake shop in Hong Kong, probably opened for more than a century.
There is a Japanese introduction to snake soup placed outside, next to the cage with a few real snakes! :
She's traditional:
Super old-school with very minimal decor. There is a huge wooden plaque stating the shop's name at the end of the small shop.
Other than two to three folding tables and a few chairs, the most striking feature about She Wong Lam are the old and solid looking wooden boxes:
When my colleague and I entered the shop, they assembled a table for us right next to the boxes
which stated "Poisonous Snake".
(She's really nice. I asked whether I could take a picture of the snakes. He opened the box for me immediately!)
She's focused:
The only cooked food product they sell is snake soup. One size: HK$45.
So you don't need to speak Chinese or any language in fact. The moment you sit down, the friendly and quiet staff will give you a bowl of snake soup.
She has substance:
The soup base was apparently made of double-boiling chicken soup and Chinese aged ham. It had a light and easy going aftertaste. You could add grounded white pepper, sesame oil, vinegar or a bit of soy sauce to enhance the taste if you wish.
The soup at Se Wong Sun was most flavourful, then followed by Se Wong Ye and Ser Wong Fun. But this was not bad at all. My colleague really enjoyed it without adding anything.
A lot of snake in the broth! Basically just snakes with just a bit of black fungi, which were very fresh and crunchy as well.
The only thing to note is that by itself, it's not sufficient for lunch. Be prepared to have something else around the same street, which has tons of high quality Hong Kong eateries.

蛇王[b]林[/b]:獨沽一味五蛇羹的傳統老店.蛇王二的大小但全是蛇肉!
蛇王[b]芬[/b]:環境最好選擇最多,但蛇羹幾乎全部是雞肉,性價比極低.
