After having dinner in Causeway Bay, I was walking to the minibus stop and saw that the line at Uncle Tetsu's Cheesecake wasn't really long, so I decided to bring one home.There are 2 lines at Uncle Tetsu's, one for the cashier and the other for the actual cheesecakes. I lined up at the cashier to pay for my cheesecake, and there were 2 other people in front of me. There is a limit of 1 cheesecake per customer, so I paid for my cheesecake and proceeded to the other line.When I arrived at the o

When I arrived at the other line, I realized why there is always a line at Uncle Tetsu's! Each batch of cheesecake is baked fresh and not ahead of time, and each batch is only about 8 cheesecakes. I was actually number 9 in line, so I thought I had to wait a long time for the next batch, but the new batch came out only a few minutes after the previous batch.While I was waiting for the new batch to be prepped and boxed, I was able to capture a few close up shots of the oven and prep area.
After waiting for about 10 minutes, I had my box of cheesecake in hand and headed home!

Uncle Tetsu's cheesecakes may not have fancy decorations or gimmicky flavors, but since they specialize in cheesecake, they have mastered the perfect Japanese style cheesecake! And, for only $59 per cake, it's excellent value for the money!!
