Summary:The Goods: I think it's quite affordable if you want sashimi rice bowl; price starts at HKD89. Taste good for the price. The Bads: Bar-style seating, not good for group but good for easy 1-2 persons meal. It's open space so a bit noisy. Damage: We (2 persons) ordered 2 sets of rice bowl (the set only comes with soup) one cheap (HKD89) and one expensive (HKD189). No service charge applicable because, well, it's self serviced. This is an easy weekend eat for me because it's close to where I

This is an easy weekend eat for me because it's close to where I live. It's simple, fast, and affordable for what it is (sashimi rice bowl usually are quite expensive). The shop is an island in AEON supermarket's food court with bar-style seating all around. There is usually a queue which I waited for 15 minutes which is not too bad for the location (AEON is usually quite busy on weekends). When you are seated you go order and pay first, then you well get a buzzer to let you know when the food is ready then you also go can get it yourself.
Ambient is just the way it is - busy supermarket setting. So it's a bit noisy but other than that it is clean and tidy.
What we ordered
There are 2 main sections for this restaurant; sashimi rice bowl set (with soup), or grilled fish set (with rice and soup). I never ordered grilled fish but they also look nice by looking at my neighbours.
We ordered the Nakoya Bowl , which has a bunch of things; grilled eel, salmon, hotate scallop, red shrimp, tuna scrape, sea urchin (uni), sweet egg, and fatty tuna (I think - don't quote me), all in form of sashimi except eel and egg; all about 2 pieces each except eel and shrimp. And of course the rice below which you can't really see from the photo, and some pickled ginger. I personally think this is great quality adjusted for the price (of course you will get better quality but at much higher price too). They all taste fresh with the only exception of shrimp which I have some reservation on freshness (not that bad but not extremely fresh). Grilled eel doesn't taste like it's being freshly prepared but in all fairness it's already good at this price. Rice is nice too, it's not too wet (clumps / mush) or too dry. The only complaint on rice - if I have to - is that I wish it is a bit more vinegary, but that's only personal preference.

To my surprised, this set comes with grilled shrimp too. This is my first time getting this freebie and so I cannot say this deal is here to stay or it's only on today. It's not living up to expectation for this restaurant unfortunately. If I have to make a guess, I think they realize these shrimps aren't good enough for selling at full price so they just grill them up and give away. So here's the thing, it looks overcooked from the outside and for that you normally expect the meat to be really dry, but it's not dry but mush. Beside being mush, it doesn't taste or smell off so I might only be imagining things.

As for the second set, we ordered Salmon Bowl to offset some cost from the more expensive dish above (go, poor man style!). It's only HKD89 and I can be full with it. As the name suggests, it only comes with salmon sashimi and torched salmon (4-5 pieces each). It's served with rice of course, and some pickled ginger. The sashimi is normal and torched salmon is definitely cheaper part as it has visible fat layer (and also the fact that it is torched instead of served as sashimi). All in all I still think it's good value though, you can be full with HKD89 and still have some sashimi.

Both of these sets come with Miso Soup. I personally think it's a bit too heavy on miso but that's just personal preference - there's not too much miso per se. The soup has daikon radish, seaweed, and some small pieces of salmon bone. It's not bad overall, and nice addition to the set.

Well lastly, they're served with soy sauce, and wasabi. I mention these because they're in small packets and even the saucer is plastic. I wish they could have used bottle/jar for sauces to reduce waste but I also understand this is probably easier to manage (and perhaps better during COVID too). They also have [tap] water that you can serve yourself (at the ordering counter, not at each seat) but I didn't bother.
