I've been to iCarambas! in SoHo and Wild Coyote in Wan Chai as well for mexican food in Hong Kong. The food there wasn't bad at all, in my opinion. But not really too memorable either.Mr. Taco Truck, however, was delicious. My friend and I got a burrito bowl to share at first. We went around dinner time and there weren't many people there, so service was extremely quick, even for our food to come out. Which was ideal since we were starving! We got the burrito bowl with al pastor (the spicy pork)
Mr. Taco Truck, however, was delicious. My friend and I got a burrito bowl to share at first. We went around dinner time and there weren't many people there, so service was extremely quick, even for our food to come out. Which was ideal since we were starving! We got the burrito bowl with al pastor (the spicy pork). Delicious. At first when looking at it I was a bit worried. It didn't look too special nor filling. But the treasure was hidden beneath the pile of veggies and guac. The pork was extremely savory. The rice was also made very well. I was extremely satisfied with what came out and I would definitely get it again, but in an actual burrito style. Go for the burrito bowl if you want to cut down on your carbs ;)
Afterwards, we were debating whether or not to get another dish to share. In the end, we decided to get the nachos with carne asada. I am a nacho monster. I loveee love loveee nachos and the messiness that comes along with it. We got the small portion, which was a good choice after our previous meal. We ended up quite full, actually. The nachos were a bit different than the usual corn chips I'm used to. The chips were fried to a nice crisp. Still delicious, and not too salty. Plus we got a side of salsa, which was a bit spicy, but worked very well with the nachos.
Who I assumed to be the manager/owner of the place came by to us while we were looking at the menu and recommended some things and had a small chat with us as well. He's very friendly and easy to talk with. Plus, he explained some details of some of the dishes, making them sound to die for. Very good at selling, I'd say If only we had bigger stomachs and wallets, we would've ordered some of his recommendations. But I'm sure I'll be back again in the VERY near future.. as in tomorrow before heading out to LKF
