I've always wanted to try this restaurant but never had an excuse to go there. As they have opened a new branch in TST, and also for celebrating Fathers' Day, I booked this restaurant ONE MONTH in advance.Reservations could be made online. However, the address on the confirmation email was wrong. It's supposed to be Ocean Centre, not Ocean Terminal. Reservations could be made online. However, the address on the confirmation email was wrong. It's supposed to be Ocean Centre, not Ocean Terminal. Because of this, we had to walk a long way, which wouldn't have been a big problem if we weren't going with a granny with mobility problems, especially when there weren't any lifts but only escalators.
We finally arrived at the restaurant. As we previously booked online, the table was already ready for us upon arrival. Look at the queues outside the restaurant, apparently these people had to wait until 9pm for their dinners. There was 6 of us. So we decided to order 1 starter, 2 pastas, 1 risotto, 1 pizza, and also 1 chicken to share. At the beginning I thought the plate was dirty, but soon I realised that it was the pattern. The crispy squid was nice. Although the taste was good, especially the garlic mayo, the portion was tiny. We couldn't even have 2 pieces each. This "Our Famous Prawn Linguine" was made with garlicky tiger prawns, fennel, tomatoes, chilli & rocket. It was slightly spicy. Despite the good taste, the portion was just too small even we already ordered a large portion. Fresh Crab Spaghettini was made with capers, chilli, fennel, parsley, anchovies & lemon. The sauce was nice. However, there wasn't enough meat in it, and yet the portion was again, tiny. Wild Truffle Risotto was made with finely minced black winter truffles with butter & Parmesan. The taste was fine with a strong taste of mushroom. Again, the portion was absolutely tiny. I don't think it would even feed a child. Free Range Chicken: This was marinated with a creamy wild mushroom sauce, lemony rocket, crostini & Parmesan. Honestly, I'd much prefer having a sandwich instead of this, especially when this costed $178. Hong Kong Hot was a pizza made with tomato sauce, cheddar cheese, fennel salami, spicy meatballs, jalapeno chillies & buffalo mozzarella. This was amongst the best dish out of all tonight. The taste of spicy was lovely and appetising. Nevertheless, it would have been even better if there were more toppings.
It was a disappointing dinner indeed. The ventilation was poor that it was too hot in the restaurant, and that there wasn't enough fresh air. On top of this, the portions were tiny, and that it took so long for the foods to arrive. The pizza came 1 hour 15 min after we placed the order. I am not joking. We were still hungry after this dinner and we had to go for a second dinner afterwards.
