First impression as I walked in.  Japanese server, an authentic one.  Alright this is gonna be a good restaurant.  When you have a Chinese server greeting you with terrible Japanese, you can already walk away but not this restaurant.  I went there on a Saturday night and I would say around 1/3 of the restaurant was filled with Japanese customers.  This is a really good thing for Japanese don't tolerate fake Japanese food.

They gave me a chicken angel hair as a amuse Bouche to start.  At first sight it wasn't wow, but it tasted alright but to be honest it didn't do the food they served in the menu any justice.

We started off with the Miso flavored wings.  Grilled to perfection the wings was crispy on the outside and juicy tender and succulent in the inside.  Many chef over power their meats with miso but not these miso wings.  Just right.

Then we ordered a tofu salad.  It didn't look too different from tofu salads we have had but it was pretty good.  The peanut dressing was aromatic but not too strong and overall the salad felt light and it was very appetizing and prepared for the dishes to come.

Then we ordered the pork meatballs.  It really tasted a lot like Chinese steamed meat patties but the fact that it was grilled gave it an extra later of sensation and also added on to the flavor.  The meat balls you can tell was well prepared not over patted and it felt juicy with elastic texture like a good hamburger patty.  Overall the chefs knew what they were doing.

Then we decided to try the crab hot pot rice.  With Korean and Chinese hot pot, it's often very greasy and not easy to digest, but not this one.  It had a really earthy home cook feel to it.  Why it was strong in flavor it was just right.  You didn't feel you need to add any additional sauce or flavoring of any kind.  We did however find a few crab shells in it.  Not a big deal but would be nice to leave out.

Finally I asked for a grilled corn on the Cobb.  I was quite full already but I saw by neighboring table ordering it and it looked great.  For $40 hkd for a small 1/8 section of a Cobb it wasn't cheap but let me tell you this was probably the star of the show. Never have I tasted such a sweet corn on the Cobb and grilled perfectly with a little bit of butter.  Worth every penny.

The whole meal costed about $600 for two.  Well worth the money!
