I've tried many of the froyo joints in HK and just so happened that i was in the area yesterday and had a craving for froyo. So went to check out the place.First of all, the gimmick of the place is that everything is charged by the gram. This was an interesting idea and i think it ends up being cheaper than any of the froyo places in HK. First of all, the gimmick of the place is that everything is charged by the gram. This was an interesting idea and i think it ends up being cheaper than any of the froyo places in HK.
There were also like 8 flavors of froyo...which is beyond what any of the other places had to offer COMBINED. The down side of it was that all of the flavors were really bland. My friends and i ordered almost most of the flavors available but none of them really stood out and the acidity was far too mild for my liking. i personally prefer Yo! mama! froyo to them by FAR!
Also, since everything was charged by the gram i would have thought that we will get pump out the froyo ourselves or at least be able to see how much the staff is putting into our bowls. but not at all, the whole time the staff's head was in the way and i had NO IDEA how much was actually in my bowl. That was a bit disappointing.
Then to the toppings. I like the toppings there as they had a large selection. The only problem is that, again, i thought it was self served....except it isn't again. That is ok but then there were no glass between the topping and the customers which means that i can sneeze or cough right into them. If it's not self served, then why not have the glass to make it more hygienic?
But the staff there were really nice. they were really patient to explain the workings of the shop and just made the froyo all the more enjoyable.
Overall, an average place but i am sure with some little tweaks here and there, it will become a good froyo joint and i'm looking forward to the improved yogo!!
